    Question Forum Recognizing Characters

I don't know if there is another forum post out there about this, but I couldn't find one. Anyway, I'll skip right to the point. I have a Free-to-Play account and a VIP account under my same username and password, but, for some reason, the forum is only recognizing my Free-to-Play account as if I didn't have a VIP account. I only have one, level 9 character on this Free-to-Play account, so, as one might expect, this makes signing up for lotteries and such on the forums completely unhelpful for me. Basically, my question is "Is there a way to get the LOTRO forums to recognize my VIP account characters, rather than just my Free-to Play character." I appreciate any answers.

What you have likely is multiple lotro subscriptions under one turbine name.. When you're logged in At the top right corner you should see Logged in as <forum_username> and then a little down arrow . Click that and try to switch accounts ..Its just left of 'My Blog' & 'Inbox'

Ok, when I go under the arrow, it does have the text "Switch Subscription:" and underneath that it says "Community Name Not Set." When I click on the text that says Switch Subscription, it just highlights it as if I want to copy it, but doesn't take me to any link to switch subscriptions, have an arrow come off it to show me my subscription options, or anything like that. Am I missing something or is this an issue with the system that I should take up with Turbine? I even tried deleting my F2P character to see if it would stop recognizing him, but instead, my "Your Characters" tab is just completely gone with nobody on it. For all I know this is a simple fix and I just don't realize what it is. I appreciate your responses.

If you log into your Turbine account there should be a place there that you can set the forum name. Once set you should be able to select it as Crell_1 indicated. Note that it may take a little while for the forum to update, so if it doesn't change immediately just wait and check again later. If it hasn't changed after 24 hours then contact the forum folks about it.

Ah, ok, I believe I did try this earlier today, but didn't realize it might take some time to update. Thanks

Ok, I figured it out. I had to go under "Set Community Name in order to "Switch Subscription," but now my community name can't be Haltheleon (my main) if I want my correct characters to show because my OTHER subscription already uses that Community Name. Is there a way to make my F2P subscription Butterbhean and my main account's subscription Haltheleon, or is that not a service currently?

This is Haltheleon, by the way; the one that originally created the post.

Contact account support directly, and they might be able to sort something out, but its not something that you can do on your own.

For community name inquiries, please contact the Community/Forum support team.

Account Management can't assist with Community names.

I had the same issue. My main and alt were attached to another subsciption-community name: Calta but I have been posting as Yvandriel=my default login and preferred name since I joined ftp. It is also the default if I enter MYLOTRO in game.

I think it happens when new players upgrade and get asked to create community name account information again and so think they have to create new account for the forum. Or they (we) just forget the first name we first created in all the excitement and joy of learning new game, world etc.

Turbine help= account support ( who provided great customer service-prompt and clear in explaining the issue) said they'd look into fixing my problem by letting LOTRO team know but a.t.m. the only thing they could suggest was swapping subscription.s (the 'Logged in as' box) every time I entered myLOTRO in game. There appears to be no way of consolidating my characters under Yvandriel so my default login is attached to the character I'm playing or vice versa.

If anyone else has issue I suggest we all let account support at turbine know and they may be able to create/expedite a fix.

    Yvandriel AKA Calta
