Is it really possible to be immune against fear-effects?

With the new inspired items, there is a legacy, which increases the buff, cappies do if we purge debuffs.
it says, it increases fear resistance by up to +28%. the buff itself gives +20%. combined would that give +48% percent fear resistance for 30sec with 20sec cd. in other words: always up, if one wants to. if we combine +48% with +2% from antifearbufffood and 50% from being resistance-capped, we would get to 100% resistance against fear-effects.

did i do something wrong here? is this real? does that work? if that would work, there would really be a point in increasing resistance. i dont really care about having 20% or 30% resist normally. but having 80% or 90% or 100% resistance, would make this different... (even if its only against feareffects)

so, did someone check that? (using that legacy, slotting resistance to cap, using bufffood, having the buff up and fight with enemies with lots of feareffects to check, if some spells have an effect?)

    Hi

of course a 100% fear resist would cause a chance of 100% to resist a fear effect. But you would need 36834 resist rating for this. Since Resist essences give you just a small amount of resist this would cause to many losses on other things.

sure, one would lose other stats.
but if it was possible to get 100% reduced damage, by sacrificing other stats, i would totally sacrifice those other stats.
i dont know a situation, where 100% fear-resist is "needed" or makes things a lot easier. but its just an incredible high value, which isnt achievable in any other defensive stuff. you cant get wound/poison/illness immune, neither can you get immune to damage or anything else. i just dont see, why there is a way to be fear-immune. if it really works. in theory, it does. im just wondering, if someone tested it in praxis.

well guardians can get 100% crit defence... at least... but yeah it would be quite cool if there was a fight where nearly every damage dealt is fear type

having 100% critdefense still does not make you immune against crits. it just lowers damage done by crits. and how much damage crits do depends on the enemies critical magnitude. if there was an enemy with crit-mag of +300%, 100% critdef would still be nice, but the attack would still do lots of damage :P

okay, 100% fear resist doesnt make you immune, if your enemy has finesse... so maybe, it somehow is the same^^

but still, critdef just makes crit be normal hits, they still hurt :P

isnt there this annoying final fight in mirkwood instance, where gorothul fears the whole group from time to time, making the free people running into bunches of skelettons, spawning ghosts and spamming adds to the fight? that would be a nice fight to be immune against fear. dont know a similar situation... but dome of stairs endboss has some feareffects, too.

Crits are 150% of the Maximum damage.
Devastings are 200% of the Maximum damage.

If you have Crit Defence of 50%, then you will get a normal Classic Max Damage strike.
All over 50% will only reduce the incoming Damage of Devastings.

Do you meet an enemy that had an other crit/devations progression?
I know atm only Character Classes, that can modify this value.

Sometimes i meet Enemies, that do with Devasting the same damage as Criticals.

This is the Salt in the Soup :-)
Even the second is nice to place the fields.

But with 100% fearresist you will los a lot of other, from my point of view, more important things.
You need damage to bring the enemies down. If there is no damage, no one will care that you are not runing away :-)
    Time works for our Enemies.
