    • Competitors that make a FALSE run will not be allowed an additional third attempt.
    • Time will be measured from the moment one of the feet of the competitor touches the coal strip, to the moment both feet of the competitor have jumped out of the coal-strip at the finish.

    7) DWARROW DICE TOURNAMENT

LOCATION: Ale Hall at Thorin’s Halls

GAME INFO: The object of the game is to throw more (or the same) than the competitor who previously rolled the dice, allowing you to stay in the game. If you throw less than the competitor before, you are out of the game. Last competitor left wins the game.

    [HOW TO PLAY?]

Example: Three competitors + one official ((game master)) in a group ((fellowship)): Drogo, Bombur, Faramir and official Kandral.

Drogo is the first to throw ((decided by official draw)). Drogo throws ((merely by typing /roll in fellowship)). He throws a 29. Bombur is next to roll. He throws a 51. Seeing that this is higher than 29 he is still in the game. Next is Faramir, who throws an 88, seeing that this is higher than 51 he is still in the game of course.

Drogo gets a chance to throw higher than 88 to stay in the game. He rolls a 52, Kandral informs Drogo he is out this round. Another chance for Bombur to stay in the game, he throws 88 (equal to Faramir’s earlier throw), Seeing it is not less than Faramir’s earlier throw Bombur is still in the game. Faramir must now throw higher (or equal to) 88 to still stay in the game. He throws a 27, and thus Kandral informs him he is out of this round.

Kandral declares Bombur the winner of this round. Seeing that Drogo was kicked out of this round first, he has the advantage to start in the next round.
Note: If a player throws 100, the next player can still stay in the round, but only by also throwing 100.

The fellowship continues the game till one of the competitors of the group has won 2 rounds, at which point the winner moves to the grand tournament final. The grand tournament final consists of the winners of all groups; to win in the grand final one must win 3 rounds.

    RULES:
    • Competitors are divided in groups of two, three, four or five competitors ((depending on the turn out)), joined by one official ((Fellowship groups)).
    • Competitors must register with the officials prior to tournament start. Groups are divided by draw, the result of which is announced at the start of the tournament.
    • In case a competitor leaves the group ((crashes or otherwise)) he/she has two minutes to re-enter, or forfeits their place in the group.
    • If more than twenty competitors show up to participate, there may be a qualifier round to narrow the field.
    • The winners of each group ((has won two rounds in their group)) proceeds to the Grand Tournament Final. First competitor to win three rounds in the Grand Tournament Final , wins the Tournament.

    Additional rules and notes :

    HORSE RACE RULES:
(Grand thanks to folks of Windy Acres Ranch and gracious Kiralynn especially. As we've used their standard rules as a base for our races)
    * Only standard speed ponies, horses or goats (62% - NOT 68%!) will be allowed.
    * We ask all competitors NOT to use any mount speed buffs. People that have acquired the new Apprentice and Journeyman riding skills are kindly asked NOT to enter the race, as this would give them an unfair advantage over the other racers. As it would otherwise become impossible to determine which racing tier a steed belongs in.
    * Participating riders will be given a clear explanation again of the course before the race begins. Riders are welcome to visit the race site and practice the course before race day.
    * Riders must only use their pony, horse or goat for transportation. Changing steeds will not be allowed mid race, you must finish the race with the steed you started with. Stables, milestones, wayfaring, camps, rally points, acorns, mustering horns, summons and all other non-mount forms of travel are not allowed.
    * Spamming fellow riders, giving a false start signal, having allies ride in the wrong direction to mislead riders, and all other forms of unsportsmanlike behavior will result in disqualification.
    * Riders must clear all checkpoints in the proper direction and order. Course judges are the final authority in determining if a checkpoint has been properly cleared. ((A decision can be appealed if screenshots or video can be presented immediately after the race.))
    * The gold medal winner will be determined by the first rider to cross the finish line, not the first mount.
    * If more than a dozen riders show up to participate, there may be a qualifier race to narrow the field.

    NOTES ON PRIZES:
(*4) = The tournament best is selected from the gold medal winners of each category of the sparring tournament
(*5) = Actual amount of Turbine Points handed out depends on the amount of groups in Sparring and Dwarrow Dice Tournament ((28.000-30.000 TP))
(*6)= these small prizes are completely at the discretion of the Harnkegger organizing committee and may vary from nation to nation.
    * The organizing committee may decide to hand TP points to the gold medal winners as one code of 1000 TP or two codes of 500 TP.

NOTE ON TIME ZONES / TIMES OF EVENTS:
All times mentioned in this post are on SERVER TIME of the LAURELIN Server (which is Boston Time) - Meaning that 3PM ST, would equal 8PM UK Time and 9PM Central European Time.

    FURTHER NOTES:
(*7) = Inspiration for this feast in the Blue Mountains can be found in lore: “It came to pass that at the midsummer the Dwarves, as was their custom, bade Eöl to a feast in Nogrod…” [The Silmarillion, Quenta Silmarillion, Ch 16, Of Maeglin]. This year again we’ve changed the timing (making it the end of summer instead of midsummer due to various reasons).

(*8 ) = The name “Harnkegger” is the name given originally by non-dwarves to both “Deep Ale Fest” and the winner of the games. The name finds its origin in the words “Harn” (brains) and “Kegger” (“brewer / he who fills the kegs with ale”), and is a reference to both the smarts required to win in these games, as to the drinking of enormous amounts of ale between festival days.

(*9 ) = Beornings will also be counted as members of the race of "MEN".

    * The Harnkegger organizing committee reserves the right to cancel events in the unlikely event a minimum number of competitors is not reached. Minimum numbers are depending on the event in question and are at the discretion of the Harnkegger organizing committee. In such an eventuality the foreseen prizes (gold, Turbine Points, horse-codes, and/or gifts) are distributed among other events or added to the main Harnkegger prize and Hero of the Harnkegger Nation prize.

    * It is the aim of the Harnkegger organizing committee to hand out ALL Turbine Points, codes and gifts directly to the winners on the event day. In case a winner would not be online at the time of the event award ceremony the Harnkegger organizing committee will see to post any items and Turbine Point codes via in game letter.

Primrrose Spinney, along with many other hobbits, is sad to see that this year the Music Event has been scheduled for a Friday, thus clashing with the weekly party at the Green Dragon, where many of the finest hobbit musicians, singers, and songwriters regularly perform. This was not the case last year, and it is to be hoped that an effort will be made to avoid a recurrence next year...

    Hello Primrose and others.
Last year we did indeed push it to 4pm server time, but that resulted in the second part of this day being way too late for most European competitors, as a result our turn out for that event was very low.
We had to move already quite a few events because of other scheduled events this year, so we didn't have much choice I'm afraid to put it on another date, as that would conflict with yet other events again.
In short, we've really tried, but there was no way to make it work without removing one of the other events (which we didn't want to do). So, please don't think we have done no effort to avoid this, we have, yet it simply wasn't possible otherwise.

I hope that perhaps (for once), the musicians of the Green Dragon can still come to the Music Event and compete, and after the event head back to the Green Dragon and enjoy their weekly festivities, perhaps starting a tad later for once?

    Red face

This is one of the finest annual events our server has to offer and I am very much looking forward to be there, like last year *cheers*

The Harnkegger Games are only once a year and I am sure hobbits will come and enjoy the atmosphere .

As far as I know all hobbits of the Shire are always happy to come along to the games and I am sure it will be the same this year.

Even if one Friday we have two events , I am sure people can accommodate them both in their schedule.
