Crossover problems recurring again!

It won't boot from the MacOS 12 Monterey boot volume on your SSD. Also, its USB ports are USB 2 which have only 1/10 the throughput of USB 3. Even if that Mac could boot Monterey (which it can't), it would be painful to run anything from the SSD – especially the boot volume but even an application.

All too true, as of course I discovered! Now trying to see whether the random freezing affects my main character only. It's the sheer randomness which is so frustrating, as the behavour appears to be so completely random: within a 48 hour period, two freezes in the midst of high intensity, resource-demanding combat, and the next day, two more within five minutes of each other just quietly walking about.

Probably not surprisingly, loading my main character takes very much longer than for any other.
