Stuck on connect. It went through about an hour ago but then got stock on Examine Game Data. Restarted the launcher and now stuck on connect again.
Oh well, it's not like a big surprise on launch day, but still frustrating and disappointing.

The patch servers are up and players are patching. There is an extremely high demand and we are adjusting resources to alleviate the stress on the servers and allow more players to patch. This may mean we have to take them down again for a brief periods to allocate more resources to the server pool.
It finally worked out for me, I am patching after waiting 7 hours =D. But I spend my time wisely, outside the weather is so beautiful and now I even have a chocolate cake when I start playing.

Prior to your post, which the server seems to have ate. I can see the server is up, one of my two PCs is patching. Restarting the client doesnt seem to have helped one iota.; Odds that one restart will work after 25+ attempts after you've announced they're up will make a difference? Approaching nil. In either case. I suspect the issue is we need 'retry to connect, and hit the server in a brief window in which its accepting new connections (due to load.)'
It's one thing to say 'connection attempt failed', and quite another to say 'the patch server is busy'. It can and should be able to tell me the server is too busy to accept new connections, and that the problem isn't that I need to restart my launcher... that said, How would anyone feel about patch queues?
-- Second PC has started patching, at a retry..so, that seems to support my intial guesses. but who knows.
Edit: Patched. 1of 2 ;To clarify, BOTH PCs connected at a retry and NOT immediately after a client restart.

This. I would understand if launcher just said "Server full" or something like that, or even something like "You are in queue, expect download starting in ~20 minutes". But when it just saying "Connect failed" and no matter how many times you restart the client and always get the same error message, you just don't know what the problem actually is...

Turbine suggests that its probably better if you restart your client to check for updates, rather than leaving it to check on its own automatically.
Then we suggest you close it and restart. If you simply leave it open it may hang and fail to patch.

Same here. I was stuck on Connect for a while but eventually it moved onto updating and now I seem to be all done, or at least I hit the login page. I have since closed and re-opened the launcher and it's stuck on Connect again but as far as I can tell it's all patched up.

Well, I've had two computers trying to patch and one finally started. So there's hope yet for you all. It's also been moving really fast: at 51% as of now. I shall name this patch server Wingpatch.

Can't get anywhere after about 20+ restarts over the past hour. Am I supposed to just sit here and keep restarting my client until by some miracle it actually connects?
What amazes me is that every patch with CM, and apparently here too, it seems to come as a surprise to them that the patch servers get hit with a very heavy load & they have to redirect resources to try to cope.
