Historically Turbine has always posted them a few hours into the downtime as above this is usually around 9-10am Eastern, why after 8 years would you expect this to differ now? If you are that eager i suggest you take a look in the Bullroarer forum, the majority of information coming this afternoon can be found there.

I am also from Europe and have never considered myself an apologist for turbine or anyone else for that matter. What is to improve? move the down time so that it is acceptable for you? post notes sooner?

Yes, post the notes sooner. If Frelorn isn't in at 7am, why not post the notes the day before? When I downloaded the patch for my iPhone yesterday, I read the patch notes first.

I just saw the OP being blasted and thought he had a point.

Regarding the "Turbine apologist", this is the term that came to mind after observing behaviour here from some regulars. The behaviour involves shooting down every criticism levelled at Turbine, no matter what it might be, saying, "There's no problem, why are you bothering posting this?"

I don't know why they do this. Perhaps they think that if the problem isn't affecting them personally, nobody else has a right to complain about it. Perhaps they have friends among Turbine staff, or perhaps they truly believe Turbine is perfect and has no room for improvement.

I love LOTRO on the whole, enough to keep playing it, but I don't agree that if you stay you have to love everything about it. If you pay for something, you have the right to make your opinion heard. I've only ever been a subscriber, I don't play for free.

You and I are polar opposites on pretty much every topic, and I expect we're both perfectly happy with that. It doesn't mean either of us is right or wrong, we just have different viewpoints. The above is mine.

This situation causes forum complaints and internet meltdown. People will read the patches notes Tuesday evening. Start looking for the new "Roving Threats" get upset because they are not there.

Hence they are published during the down time. That way the patch notes correctly describe the operation of the game when the players get into the game.

Sure Frelorn could put in big red letters - not applicable until after the servers comes up on Wednesday. People will not pay any attention to the big Red. What happens if the down time is cancelled while Frelorn is at home?
