unfortunately they havent bothered to update anything about anything on those since 12 august.
so looking at them yesterday during the update and today during this incident netted no info...so much for keeping folks informed.

I see all kinds of updates on Facebook - seems to me they did just fine using alternative methods of notification.

Yes, unfortunately, due to last night's issues, we were unable to properly update the forums and websites here. Both were hit with heavy performance load, resulting in slow or non-existent load times. I was actually trying to post to the forums, but was also unable to get them to load.
If you are unable to access our main websites, our Twitter and Facebook will always have the current status of any issues that we may be experiencing. Even if you don't have accounts on either of those sites, you will be able to view our posts and updates without signing in.
Our Twitter and Facebook links are both in my signature, so please make use of them!
Additionally, I just cleared off last night's status updates from our Facebook page in order to keep it up-to-date and relevant. Status messages from the forums have been removed as well, as the service is healthy and those notifications are currently unnecessary.
