What I honestly find amusing is the fact they let pages of spam fill the forum, but for some reason they removed my Introduction thread. Literally had nothing in it that was against Forum rules unless they counted the guy that replied to my thread with a warm welcome, some informative links related to the game and some links to acquire codes for LOTRO items. I went to check my subscribed threads and mine had vanished lol.

What else I find amusing is the fact that I am restricted to using this Bot Spam filled cesspool of a forum even though my Account is VIP. I'm really glad that I bought all DLC and a year subscription to be treated so well....

Yah seems that Turbines haven't handed those codes to the publicity websites recently. I have seeing refills at least 4 times.

After a long time I was planning to play this game again. Before I did this, I looked at these forums and I was a bit disappointed with the activity. Who wants to join a dead MMO? When I build a character in a MMO, I do this for the long term. But when I saw this spam it almost scared me away. Makes it looks like nobody cares about the forum or the game. I mean not even a sticky...

This really looks bad and it has been going on for too long.

(By the way; I subbed again and loving it. Should have done this a while ago though. )

Neither the game nor the forums are dead or abandoned (apearances are deceiving). We are just having a issue with 1 relentless scammer that do a new bot after last 1 gets booted (& he maybe changes IP?) he keeps doing this over & over. In fact the restrictions on the new players forums are to keep him at bay because since this game if free it cannot have to much account creation restrictions.

By the way, don't reply to the bot spam threads or posts. If you do, that will make it harder to the CM to bulk delete the spam. That might be the reason why some bot spam is still sitting there. They cannot bulk delete it without accidentally ban a legitimate player that replied to the bot.

Been there, been the victim of that. I had a welcome post in this forum a while ago, and a lot of new folk had posted in it. Then there was a wave of spambots, and my thread was caught up in it. I was permabanned (for the forums only; still had game access) for two weeks as I went through the proper channels. Frelorn personally apologized for the error. As nasty as the spambots are, it's best to leave them be, aside from clicking the report button on them.

Have my vip account, but opened this one in my Guardian's character name so I can post on the class forum and get involved in the community. Seems that renders me unable to even post there. Would have loved to be able to share my thoughts on the recent class changes, and offer a couple of suggestions on how to fix it, especially prior to (and during) Monday's discussion and feedback exchange.

How you block actual human posters? These are some indian guys posting hundreds of posts per hour as their daily job. There could be new player limit post per hour but thats pretty much it.

No wonder so many don't want to pay for this game anymore (including myself after cancelling 3 VIPS now.) Between the many bugs in game that go unfixed for months and YEARS, new servers that stutter and crash more then the old (on our sides of course, lol, right,) and the ongoing continuous spam in the forums here and people mass spamming emotes in game like little idiots, I am certainly not paying anything for this anymore after paying for years. You have disappointed and failed your loyal player base Turbine and Warner Brothers and I know myself and others wont pay anymore...

Maybe the peeps that are seeing a bunch of spam should get a better virus-blocker? I don't know. All I DO know, is that I have yet to see any of this "Spam" everybody keeps referring to. :/ :/ :/

Which forum in particular are you unable to post? When I look at your forum permissions and correlate it to a random selection of forums, everything seems to check out.

It just means that you're viewing the forums at the right time (i.e. when the spam has been dealt with by a moderator). It has nothing to do with virus protection or anything like that. Try viewing the forums early on a Sunday or Saturday morning, or on a public US holiday -- that's when ol' Baba Ji and his minions are at their worst. The problem does seem to be getting better, though, since Cordovan has taken over moderation... so thumbs up, Cordovan!

We're working on it. We can't guarantee immediate success in dealing with this issue, but hopefully we'll see either a removal or dramatic reduction in spam in the coming weeks.

My ability to post new threads in this forum came back with a vengeance, dragging along an ability to post and reply in other forums too (which didn't exist before). So, again, progress! But this time not ironically.

Also, you really should find a way to determine if a logger's account has paid any money and automatically give them permissions to post and reply everywhere. After spending ten bucks on a game, I expect to at least be able to post on all of their forums instead of one restricted bit of it.

Many ppl are watching whats happening on forums, and are impressed what they are seeing. Some ppl do have a problem beliving that what they are seeing, but its here in black and white.
Baba Ji presentations of uniqe services are gone for good. I should have asked him about any chance seeing game servers in Amsterdam but well, seems i missed it.

Here is bluename, dealing with issues at hand and dare i say it, getting stuff done. Thats alot more, then its used to be. There are changes in game, even quite important ones and .. have you seen Midgwater marsh in Bree lately? 105-s in game are actually visiting it and are mostly very surprised what they see.

Ahh, what i am saying is, that we are getting here more then we used to, and at a point in a game when really not many belived to get anything at all anymore. Featured instas have made ppl to come out and join up, and many are really first time grouping up in game. That is really a good thing. Few months like this and i think lotro finds new legs to carry on. I hope you enjoy the game and forums now
