So, you pick the Winner of the Horse Design Contest...

You declare said winner, citing their design and choices of palette as your paradigms for your decision, and then you implement it in-game...

    As something completely different.

Different coat. Different mane. Different blanket. You even changed the saddle.

Explain to me, please, how this doesn't constitute a completely horrid move on your part, an insult to EVERYONE that's ever submitted to your so-called contest, and a direct slap-in-the-face to the "Winners", who really didn't get THEIR horse implemented whatsoever.

Beyond the pale, Turbine. You've taken something that certain members of your community actually avidly participate in, and made it completely insulting.

I have to agree with the OP.

The original colors, how they worked together/contrasted, are eons better than what was chosen for the in game implementation.

    what a disappointment.

You sure the original won't be in the festival, and PAX is just a different coloring?

They stated previously that the colors were changed slightly to match the theme colors of Pax East, which were silver and red, since this was the pax mount.

I do like the coloring of the silver and of the original.

Ugh...The winner's conception is much nicer. I agree with the OP.

Huh...well, I guess that makes sense, but maybe they should have stipulated a color palette in the contest guidelines? The design just doesn't look as nice with the colors changed.

wow that's a real shame. They would have been better off whipping up something quick and dirty internally for PAX and saving the contest winners submission for something special in game.

Just want to add my opinion as well.

While the red/white/silver isn't horrible, I much prefer the original coloring. Not to mention, the horse was supposed to be a buckskin but now it's a horse that doesn't even exist....::shakes head::

Cremello's have no 'points' and have white manes/tails. I don't know what kind of horse that's supposed to be. ::shrugs::

Again, while it's not horrid, I'm personally disappointed.

Oh, well...nothing to be done about it, since the rules say they have a right to do what they please. It just makes little sense to me. As AnthroGirl said, why not stipulate they wanted certain colors?

Correct. As the mount was intended to be a PAX giveaway the art team felt it should reflect that to some degree. As for changes made, such is the nature of concept art.

As far as I am aware the original artist is quite happy with the mount.

The tack is meh on both, but I quite like the coloring of the horse Turbine went with. That's not to say I don't like the horse's coloring of the submission, I do; I just also like the current color.
