Craft intro quests and minor graphic glitch

sorry if this isn't the right place to post problem with the recent update.

In Thorin's Hall the craft intro quests for the armsman vocation (prospector, weaponsmith, woodwork) do not have the right NPC to turn in for completion: Hannis, Almar and Binìr are missing (as also stated here http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...04#post5230404).

In Michel Delving the Farmer Intro quests will be considered completed only if the track crops skill is active when the onion field is harvested. It's not possible to turn in any yellow onion to complete the quest.

The icons that show status, buff and debuff under the char portrait appear and disappear far below the right position, just for a moment, then they go back to their place. This is really annoying when you have lots of icon or when you are in group with many fellows.

Thanks for posting this I have been looking for Almar all morning. I was about to go check the WW crafting guild thinking he may have been in there.

As for the Farmer Intro quest, it may have already been fixed. My farmer did not turn on Track Crops until after he had already harvested the field. I did turn it on prior to processing the fair onion yield at the workstation since the quest prompts you to turn on Track Crop before prompting you to pick out the onions from the yield. I was able to complete the quest just fine.

As for the NPC names in the Intro quests, the names given in the quest helper notes seems to be race specific. So if you are a dwarf doing the quests at the Michel Delving craft area, your quests will mention the novice crafters from the Thorin's Hall craft area instead of where you actually are. Given you can do these quests at any craft area, it might have been better to word the quests so they refer to "novice tailor vendor" (for example) rather than specific NPCs.

I don't think this is the case, I failed to find the three guys at Thorin's Hall with my dwarf. Is there any Hannis in Middle Earth?

For the farmer quest maybe you are right, the track skill has to be actived when prompted. I just want to add that you can only use THAT onion for the quest.

I also am a dwarf and a wood worker I looked all over the hall and into the rep hall for Almar and was unable to locate him/her. The quest did say to show my bow to my "mentor" Almar that's why I will check the guild WW hall when the server returns.

The Craft intro quests do give race specific information. However, you can visit any of the NPCs in lands that are not of your character's race and complete the quest with them.

A note on the Dwarf quests: the Dwarf tutorials no longer take place in Thorin's Halls. There is now a crafting area, created specifically for the tutorial, in the Frerin's Court Craft Hall. (It should say that in the quest.)

I picked up the Woodsman intro in the Lothlorien Vinyard. Since no one in the vinyard had rings over their heads, I assumed you could not talk to them to complete the quest. I ended up going to Celondom to talk to the NPCs that the quest specified.

The quest description should be more specific to reflect choices (i.e., "Speak with <NPC> or any Novice Woodworker..."). If there is a group of specific NPCs, then the quest description should reference each of them and their location (i.e., speak with <ElfNPC> in Celondom, <DwarfNPC> in Frerin's Court, <ManNPC> in Bree, or <HobbitNPC> in MichelDelving...). Any of the aforementioned NPCs should also have quest rings, even if they are not a named reference.

I happened to do the quests in the dwarf zone, and they were telling me to talk to some very non-dwarf names that didn't match up with the actual NPCs.
It was the King Color, of which all the other colors are merely partial and wishy-washy reflections. It was octarine, the color of magic. ...
But Rincewind always thought it looked sort of a greenish purple.

I have in fact found those dwarves. As of the new update, there is a completely new crafting hall in Thorin's Gate. It is outside, between Frerin's Court and the stablemaster, on your left if you are walking towards the stablemaster. All of those new dwarves are in there. My guess is they expected dwarves to be doing the crafting quests in there, but since you can get them from any master of apprentices, and turn them in to any trainer of the appropriate craft, if you do them in the main crafting hall in Thorin's Hall, you can still complete them, just with different NPCs.

Maybe this was changed after you tried it, but I want to note that this was not true when I did the quest. I did not notice that it wanted me to turn on Track Crops so I processed the onion and was then unable to finish the quest. But I bought one more apprentice seed and grew another onion, and I was able to turn that one in to finish it. Apprentice level materials are so cheap and I can use yellow onions for the cook's guild anyway, so I didn't really mind.

Cool Re: Craft intro quests and minor graphic glitch

Yeah, I was in Michel Delving, and the intro quests are wrong for the following, Cook, Farmer, Prospector, Metalsmith, Tailor, Weaponsmith, and Woodworking. These are the only ones I have tried there. The proper people to speak to are as follows:
Mistress of Apprentices: Blossom Proudfoot NOT Jill Brushwood
Cook: Petunia forgot to write down last name, but she is located to the left side of the oven in MD
    Farming:Largo Proudfoot NOT Ponto
    Metalsmith: Cotman Brown NOT Bill
    Weaponsmith: Balbo Grubb NOT Bob
    Woodworking: Belba Bracegirdle NOT Toby

The dialogues seem to be correct, but not the Objectives in the quest tracker. It isn't as much of an issue for people who have multiple tooons and who already know who to speak to, but for others it may present a problem when they run around for too long looking for the NPC. I hope thie can help some of you, and that Turbine will read this, and my bug report from the other day, and fix this.
    Have fun and Happy Crafting!!

Almar is in the new crafting hall, by the stable master, also make sure you didn't craft a critical item.
