Moving characters from one server to another

How does one do this? I've heard people talk about moving their characters from one place to another, and I would like to do so myself. I did some searching, but half the time the search bombs, and I found nothing.

Ive moved a couple over the years, google "turbine premium services" and you'll end up on some site with an oddball name like Fuquenza... ish. They may have changed that. You'll pay... 20 to 30 dollars...ish, been a while. It takes about a month in my experience. You can't move toons to Brandywine, Esomethingorother, ... and... RPtown, I forget the name of that server.

google "turbine premium services" and you'll find it. Be ready to wait. They take a while to get around to it. And when you get there check your toon for anything out of the ordinary. I had one transfer one time with all sorts of chat channel probolems. But they were very good about it and fixed it within a few days.

Turbine uses a common email ticket system for all their games and any kind of service request. I believe the charge is $24.95 per character. There are some restrictions. No returning to server to the character previously lived on. No moving to Landroval, Brandywine, Elendmir, Imladris, Riddermark, Crickhollow or Darrowdelf.

Could someone please give me a logical explanation as to why I can't move a toon from Windfola to Eldar?

Windfola is a North American server and Eldar is a former EU server, we cannot transfer between the two due to different coding.

The character data is not compatible. We have a common client that connects to both EU and NA servers. The server side is different. There are NA data and servers and EU data and servers. Hopefully Turbine will eventually develop a converter that can transform a EU character into a NA character and a NA character into a EU character. Or perhaps Turbine will convert the entire EU database in NA format.

I had a character moved and it took about a day. I felt that it was really fast, and I was actually surprised it didn't take longer.

I've had three characters moved recently and they've taken 1 or 2 weeks. You must've got lucky.
