Starting Vol III Book 6 without finishing Book 5.

Is there a way to start Volume III book 6 without finishing book 5?

My friend is unable to finish the solo quests that end Book 5, so I am hoping there is a way to do book 6 anyway (instead of jumping straight ahead to Book 7).

If I recall correctly, it's not possible to do b6 without doing b5 first.
I guess all he can do is level up or gear up or both. I have found these
instances quite challenging for some classes, but nothing 4-set Draigoch
or say 5 levels couldn't fix...

Must admit, I haven't tried my hunter there yet, which is tbh the class
I fear most there...

Well, she's a minstrel and isn't very into powergaming, and those solo instances are pretty difficult (especially the one with the netted orcs).

I guess book 6 will have to wait then.

It's very possible to start book 6 without finishing book 5. My minstrel only finished Vol III up to book 2, by then he was level 78 and eager to start Rohan so I jumped from book 2 to book 6.

In case you don't know, book 6 starts by talking to Galadriel in Lothlorien, either inside the city if you have enough rep to enter, or by using the rope outside the city gates if you don't have enough rep.

The solo instances in Rohan are not difficult at all, a minstrel is one of the best solo classes in the game. Also fairly early on you'll get access to your warsteed which makes many instances a walk in the park.

I thought it was book 7 which started by talking to Galadriel.
