As I mentioned last week, once we had everyone back in the building, we'd take a closer look. We have and this is what I can tell you.
The cosmetic only war-steed appearance was never intended to be a player facing offer. This was intended for testing and testing only. As with all previous premium mount bundles, purchase of the bundle includes both the travel mount and the War-steed appearance. Offering an appearance only option was never intended.
Because these appearance only options were published and had names very similar to the premium mount bundle, some players inadvertently purchased both items thinking they would receive different cosmetics. If you purchased both offers (the bundle and the stand alone cosmetics), please contact support to have your purchase of the cosmetic only appearance refunded.
If you purchased only the cosmetic version and would like to upgrade your purchase to the full premium mount bundle, please contact account support. They will be able to assist you with this. Please note you will be charged the difference between the cosmetic only and full bundle price.
While we currently do not have plans to offer the premium mount appearances as a cosmetic only option, if the interest is high enough we would consider adding the option in the future.
Thank you very much for the update on the situation. Although it means I'm out 1000TP that I rather would not have spent, I do feel better about the situation. It obviously wasn't intended and the previous precedent (travel mount + cosmetic appearances) still stands as it did.
Although on your last point, I would gladly buy warsteed cosmetic appearance only sets, especially for many of the class mounts. I've been eying various parts from pretty much each class set, however since I'm only interested in two or three parts from each set I can't justify spending 1995TP, especially since a large chunk of that TP is paying for a travel mount I have no interest in. I think many others (like Hymne/Lyzau posted above) would also be very interested in cosmetic appearance bundles of current premium steeds.
Essentially, I would love and be willing to spend quite a bit of TP on warsteed cosmetic appearance set bundles. My issue with the original topic of the thread was the timing of the placement of the appearance in the store relative to when the travel + appearance bundle was originally placed in the store. The class mounts (exception: Warden Steed) have been in the store for many months and I feel like it would be a much more acceptable situation to put warsteed cosmetic appearance bundles of those steeds up. Sure, people will complain. But, as even this thread shows, people will complain about anything :P
I was excited to see the cosmetic-only versions of the Steeds of Victory and Dol Baran in the store as I remember seeing them in Rohan beta, and wondering when they'd show up. I was actually mere minutes away from purchasing the Steed of Victory for my Warden because I don't care enough for any of the class steeds to drop a troll-ton of TP on them (seeing as I get no use out of the regular mount versions with a war-steed). I will not be purchasing any similarly-priced mounts at these prices. They need to be like the Bone set where it is more reasonably-priced for just the war-steed cosmetics.
Oh, and lower the cost on the color sets and war-steed appearances (or make them account-wide purchases).
I'd be potentially interested in two options for different characters.
Firstly I'll say I have no real interest in another 68% speed mount on any characters, I have those I want, and the rest I have 62% speed horses I like the look of, and am not in such a hurry 6% matters enough to spend the money. I am however, interested in the cosmetics for my warsteeds.
I understand that you want the higher priced bundle to be the most desirable option, and given the price of the 68% steeds without warsteed appearances, I'd be OK with a cosmetic class steed bundle for 900-1000 TP, making the class steed at 68% and the cosmetics a better deal, but giving me an option.
In addition on some characters I'd like an even more a la carte option to buy individual pieces of the class steed sets, and again could tolerate this being a little steeper than the cosmetic class steed bundle, so say 200-300 a piece (depending on the piece I suppose, maybe caparisons at 350, but feet at 150-200), but the idea being that a la carte the full set would be 1100-1200 TP.
Currently I have no class steeds or plans to buy them, because I don't want everything the bundle offers, and its too much for the items I do want, though I have bought the norcrofts bundle when it was on offer, so for things I like and want I am prepared to, I just want the choice and options to decide what I buy.
Thanks!

I totally agree with this. I'd be much more likely to buy and spent TP more frequently if I knew I could buy specific pieces from the various sets.
It's a shame I missed that short time offer, even if it was not intended to go public.
I have no intention to spend 2000 points for a cosmetic outfit, since I have no use for the "standard" steed.
An option to buy the sets for 1000 points would fit the needs of more players, I would be willing to spend that. If I have to spend 2000, I rather spend nothing.
edit: I also agree that sometimes I just want one single piece of a set. The headpiece of the heavy south croft set? I would pay a 300 for it. But I don't want the rest of the set, so it would be 700 points wasted if I bought the whole thing.

We've temporarily removed the Heavy Assault Set and Heavy Leather Set for the time being. We do apologize for the confusion.

With the way the warsteed works with cosmetics it's hardly ring forging to figure out that the sales would be there for those that want the look but are put off by the price for a mount they will never use.
Unless of course we're going to be getting chariots that will require multiple horses out at once you only ever use one mount at any given time and most people will stick with one or two favourites, even the collectors.
I too purchased the Steed of Victory about 2 weeks ago for my WS to have the Cosmetic heads up this is a HORRIBLE cosmetic, you can barely dye the pieces & purple on red with the color you can dye certain areas is UGLY to even have to explain, Very disappointed in my decision to purchase this steed just for Cosmetics, the Steed it's self is ugly as well this steed does offer a bonus of not being directly dismounted from a crit attack but I rarely ever see this happen seems I'm still getting dismounted just as much, unless this is disabled in the Moors? Long story short, DON'T make the mistake of purchasing it like I did.
Sorry for my bad cropping/pasting/picturing skills :P Me on the War Steed (Dyed Black coat) & the other is the actually Mount 68%
You cannot dye the Orange outlining nor the Purple all over it. only the small little Halter area. & the dye colors are really bad looking.

I totally want a chariot! I would spend 2k tp on something like that if it was totally awesome and allowed me to have 6 horses out at once and if I could mow down mobs in it as I went, spikes on the wheels and all. LOL, yeah totally not fitting in with the lore whatsoever.
