    Forum update suggestion /dev read

I thought an interesting idea would be that everytime a blue name reads a thread of interest but they don't ahve enough time or simply haven't thought a responce necessary that actually automatically a /dev read post gets put on , so that the player base actually knows that they are being heard.

For example there are a few Hunter threads in our forum section that speciifically relate towards our power mangement skills ie. the legendary traits Press Onward(PO), Bow of the Rightious(BotR) and non leg Strength of the Earth. The problem recently is that often these threads degenerate into conspiracy theories about not so stealthy stealth nerfs etc. with the upcoming U10 power changes and their impact on hte magnitude of our power restore skills.

A second issue often comes about is the lack of communication to and from Turbine about changes. One criticism in a thread is that Hunters don't appear to have had any class discussion/feedback on our forum for over a year. Perhaps they are being read but just not replied to. It would make the new power restore reductions and U10 announcements all the more interesting if an Auto /dev read had been applied or not to the numerous threads that scream for scaled and or inductionless PO, BotR scaling , SotE scaling etc.

From odd U10 changes thread / BR forum sporadic reading I'm pretty sure theres equal disatisfaction with and in other classes too and perhaps with thsi one way auto responce / dev read thing might make people aware of actually how much of thier suggestions get read even if the time is not taken to reply for whatever reason.

A /dev read tracker in addition but separeate from the dev tracker would be essential to this I think.

Anyone agree? its only one way communication but it would help at least a little right?

Maybe, although I suspect people won't believe it's "real" absent a reply. Or they'll think a mod looked at the thread, but not a class designer. Or they'll use it as More Proof That Turbine Is Clueless (because whatever-it-is in the thread hasn't changed in 3 or 6 months).

Few developers are going to wade into an environment where people aren't civil and constructive, and even those who do will eventually slow way down, or retreat to Palantir, or stop. This is a matter of long-term job satisfaction/enjoyment, and they're not paid to be public relations - nor are a lot of developers very good at that. In fact, some developers will routinely make things worse when they interject themselves into a public forum.

I know you're not suggesting that they have to post something, but I just don't believe people will be happy with a "Read By a Dev" flag. In fact, it may get those whose threads don't get such a flag very upset.

I agree that a read by dev flag would not help. In fact I am sure it would make matters worst. Everyone has a vested interest in their suggestions (I know I do) and if your suggestions is read but not acted on you might react poorly.

I know some of my suggestions have been added into the game and others have not. Some of my suggestions have been pounded by community members and others praised.

So I agree adding this would not help in any way shape or form.
I wonder what IS behind that waterfall?

I just want to remind you that the lotro dev team has it in for the hunter so any nerf is predicatble

    I jest. Serious.

Really tracking the devs and mods is a bad idea and is quite frankly in my view at least, an insult to them.

The claim would simply become that a bot just switches the flag on.

    Oh hey look! Blue name!
