I want to play CHICKENBALL again! Why can't we play CHICKENBALL?
Bring back CHICKENBALL!
And yes, it was so fun, it deserves all caps everytime you type CHICKENBALL.
CHICKENBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

Chickenball = win
Return to us, oh Chickenball, all is forgiven.
CHICKENBALL!!!
I agree with this suggestion ONLY if the Eriador Hobnanigans League (EHL) institutes an instant replay rule.
There were far too many incidents of fowl play in the past. Referees need the tools to review controversial or challenged decisions.

Hobnanigans was THE most fun I had in the game, the few times I was able to play it.
It's a shame the field is still there, but the game is gone. We were promised that it would return, however, we were never promised a date. :'(
Alas, only the higher-ups know feather or not Chickenball will return after its previous coop de grace.

afaik, iirc When it was pulled there were comments that the code was not written by Turbine but was outsourced. There was <some> problems with this and while nothing official was said afaik, the implication was T did not have rights to change the code or fix it.
It's gone with SoA, Scarlet...

Thank you, Turbine, for listening and giving us an opt-out of FE! Good work!
/reported for making me sad that I never saw chickenball
Turbine, how can you deprive me of this????
Every time I pass that field I wonder if it could be repurposed. I would love to see more side games in Middle Earth.

I would absolutely LOVE to play again.
Only played once and it was soooo much fun.
I really hope they will activate this game again!!!!!
Thanks to the OP to bring it up again and hopefully the blue names will notice this game has not been forgotten![]()
One of the best things about chicken hockey was that the "teams" were sort of like Instance Finder Lite. You clicked the NPCs and 6(?) players were put into a team together. Sometimes you made in into one team and your friend in another.
Rounds were like 5 or 10 minutes and the CD between them was about the same. iirc Rounds ended on scoring X points. Players didn't mind the queue.
iirc the /bug was an "unforeseen event" where one side could auto-win.
fwiw: There was also huge huge lag spikes when the chicken dropped, my system (old pc) just froze. I expect they could fix that part now.

Even if I can't ever play it myself, I'd still like to see the field used.
So...is there a chance that maybe it could be brought back where we bet on which NPC team will win? At worst maybe just have a "drama" version up during festivals for old times' sake? I'm not sure if that would clear up whatever code source issue there was, but those are the best alternatives I could come up with on the fly.
I also think if would be neat if we can we be the chicken ball, somehow using the chicken session part of the game. Now that would be interesting indeed!

Its true it was pulled before the first celebration was over, The titles you got for winning games are not available anymore. Chicken Chaser and what not. I just always wondered why they never removed the play field from bree festival grounds or used it for something else.
