This has been a very odd thread to read. I just found this game less than a week ago, and have been playing about 5-10 hours so far. I'm upset about the delay of the patch update, because it was during the best playing time in Europe (and I need to sleep at night), but I mean... What the hell? There are people here who seem to be wanting everything-now-and-here, because "I pay for it". Just to see these posts like "They are not working hard enough" "I need compensation for the lost time" "This is bull####, the workers are sleeping/eating lunch/not caring for customers..." etc. is really making me mad. I'm representing the so called Y-generation, born and raised with video games and internet. If online game needs a patch update, or an update of any sort, I don't have problems with the delays. Sometimes things just don't work that well, with computers especially. It's better to have a good product out with some delays than to have a ###### "beta"-version filled with flaws and messing up the gaming experience.
I don't pay for the game (thus far), and you may curse me as a freep, but I still have feelings for those who work on these updates, doing the best they can to bring the game back in the set time frame. People complaining about the delay either don't have any idea of how the customer-service-based industry works and how hard the timetables might be in the business world or are lacking the age and experience of the modern world complicated connections in almost anything. Maybe it's just me and my ethnic roots to Finland, but I'm fine with waiting. I expect them to make the game markedly better with the update, boosting up my positive feelings when I travel in the world of LOTRO.
People please, have some sence of fairness before accusing these guys working their asses off...
