EDIT - OPPS - wrong thread - lol

OH well it took too longto type that out so ima gonna just let it stand - read or ignore as you wish

What a tough position for Turbine - here is a thread (one of many) saying leveling goes too fast and seeks a way to slow down or opt out.

And yet there are other threads (also many) where people wish to "opt" out of leveling and asks for a way to start a character at advanced levels (level 30 being the reasonable suggestion - but some are asking for a way to buy a capped character for end game)

And yet others are content with buying XP boosts and other convenience to speed up leveling

While maybe the majority (no clue just a feeling) of people just don't give a darn and just play with out concern for XP and the time it takes to level.

How does Turbine please everybody? No matter what they do - one group or the other will complain - post drama and threaten /rage quit.

It seems clear to me that there only real options are to give everybody what they want - or nobody what they want.

People have to learn that the game can not cater to your specific preferences - that other peoples requirements for enjoyable game play is just as valid as yours.

I say sell a veteran status to start characters at level 30 - sell a XP dis-abler that is just a toggle to turn on or off (not a limited use pocket item) - sell xp boosts - potions and tomes - sell xp halts - potions and tomes.

Sell a capped character ability - make it as expensive as a character transfer - you can go on e-bay and buy a capped character - it happens more than you know - Turbine - cut out the middle man and get some coin to pay your devs well, so they can continue to make outstanding content for us all...

All the fears and objections are just hyperbole - happens every time something new is added or nerfed - remember stat tomes in the store? apparel dummies? free to play? every update? Rune keepers? making epics solo?

All the things that everybody was certain will ruin the game and kill it - you all said you would quit over this and that - but few did and the ones that did - new people took their place - the game keeps going and the world keeps spinning.

I hear people who has only been playing this game for a short time make absolute comments that if this happens or that happens it will ruin the game and they will all quite - and leave their game alone - but they dont realize that the game they know and love today is a far cry from what the game once was - and it will be a far cry next year from what it is today - thats because in a game with no ending - it has to change or it becomes stale and static - and boring...

I've played since the doors have opened and seen many changes - some i dont like - some i can live with - some i am so grateful that they changed it...

I am happy for dynamic evolving changes in the game - it keeps it fresh for me and I can take what i like and ignore what i dont like.

I believe everyone should just take what they like and ignore what they dont - and let other people to choose what they like or dont and make thier own choices

And turbine should offer up enough choices and options to give people a variety of choices that they can choose from- so make none of us happy by pleasing all of us- lol

Personally i would buy a veterans status ability for some characters - and a xp dis-abler for others.. and yet not use either one for other characters - but i would like to have a choice to do any of them as i wish.
    Take Care,
    D.

By the way, for those who don't want xp past a certain point, unlike someone posted in another thread, the XP Disabler is NOT a per-character purchase. It's BoA, so buy once, use on whatever character needs it.

(If you're running multiple accounts, well, then that's the price you pay. :P )

Repeat here: yes, it does stack. Which is great, I still have 3 of my 9 characters short of 85. Can make some good headway this week. In between all the life going on...

Just to add in a voice of confirmation, our other exp boost items (tome and pocket items) will stack with this boost. Also, the boost is applied to all monster kills, but not quest experience.

Have you bought one and can you confirm this behaviour first-hand?

Because from what I have read so far, the XP disabler is indeed bound-to-account when you purchase it, BUT it becomes bound-to-character once you equip it. Thus, you cannot use a given XP disabler on more than one character.

This is correct. Once you purchase the XP Disabler (Stone of the Tortoise) and equip it to a character, it becomes bound to that character. If it is not equipped, it remains bound to your account and you may transfer it.

So I don't want to rapid level... do I have to stop playing for 7 days, or will I have a way to disable it without buying 3 xp disablers?

Or... don't auto-turn it on for everyone and give us a 7 day 100% xp bonus item we can use when we want.

Well, then, you need to fix that. That's kind of a bait-and-switch that I'm not real happy about, having bought one, and noting the Bound to Account text on it.

If it works that way, it needs to be BoE, or note the BoA AND the Binds to char on use or something. Current state of affairs really sucks on that object.

It would have been lovely if they had a sale on the XP disabler BEFORE forcing unwanted XP on us. :/

AFAIK the disabler is the inverse of the accelerator stone. Both are pocket items. Both are account items that bind on equip. Both are 495TP. (A quick check in-game seems to confirm my understanding of how these items function.)

Not really an inverse: the XP disabler gives -100% exp, while the XP accelerator stone 'only' gives +25% exp. The disabler is good in perpetuity, while the XP accelerator stone has an upper level limit (as did the previous one).

Funnily enough, it's the XP disabler that causes people to complain about the price and the implementation, despite the fact that it is far better than its alleged equivalent XP accelerator item.

It should. From my... experience... all XP boosts stack in Lotro. Except where obvious... Item XP doesn't stack with PC XP, etc.

Can anybody confirm that the XP Boost is active? I've checked characters on three servers and none of them have the usual indicator under my character portrait.

It was active on Nimrodel yesterday evening, even if the icon wasn't visible. Yes, it stacked with other xp boosts. I was getting 1K xp from monster kills at level 48 from the double xp week, rest xp, the Outrider's token, and any other booster I had available.
