    Lootbox Contents

I'm getting creepside items from my lootboxes: sigils, Capt-General and Lieutenant quest items.

SSG, you will want to take a look at that.

They should disable loot boxes as fast as possible, so people do n´t waste keys on it!

To be clear, is this happening in the live game world OUTSIDE of a PvMP zone?

I was thinking the opposite. While I have gotten RvR items in just about every box I opened. Which along with the change to the log in screen where "MONSTER PLAY" jumps out at you I'm guessing is a push to get people to do RvR. As I say while I am getting RvR items I have also gotten more ash out of the 6 I have opened and more other things at same time. I have gotten 2940 ash 15 tomes of defence 20 +5% damage 6 empowered shadow essence 5 plus 10 run speed and a tome of the snake. Which is more loot then I have ever gotton from 6 loot boxes. On top of that I got 2500 commendations, 2 sigals of battle 2 greater sigals of battle - neither of which do I know what they are for. Either a RvR barter item or a barter item for new zone. and 4 different stacks of 40 pots that need realm rank to use.

All the RvR stuff is completely wasted on me. But the fact of all the other loots I got makes me wish I had not just opened like 40 loot boxes in the last 4 days as I finially got the t2 deed on my last 2 accounts. So had a lot of bound keys to use. If i'd known I'd have waited till today to open them.

Yes, I opened 9 Gorgoroth lootboxes and got creepside moors items from most of them in addition to the ash, gorgoroth crafting items and essences as before. I also got 2 sturdy iron keys and items I would have expected from Anorien lootboxes. Once again this was in addition to the items we were getting before.

Ok, I've talked to QA about this. What's happening is that there is a chance that players are getting PvMP gear in addition to the stuff they would have already received from the Lootboxes. Since this is additive rather than a replacement of something, it's a little less critical, but is still something we will be fixing.

So, just to make sure people are aware: If you see any PvMP gear in your loot box, it's something that is being awarded in addition to the stuff you would have already received.

Yes, I sent in a bug report with a screenshot from my 115 hunter, Liaam, on Landroval. Got a Greater Sigil of Battle and some potions.

That it will be getting a fix tells me it's another thing that wasn't intended. You had mentioned a tightening of procedures a while back...

I'm only now downloading the latest patch. I have gotten used to not playing Lotro the last few weeks. Should I be questioning my use of time to play as the unintended becomes more frequent, the obvious lack of dev gameplay becomes too much to bare and things only get fixed as you encounter them in game or notice on a stream?

It drops alongside the existing gear, so for the moment you at least don't have to worry about missing out on possible piece drops where the RNG slot is taken up by mob sigils or commendations.

LOL It was in the update/patch notes.

    Under Known Issues

Players who open Gorgoroth Steel-bound Lootboxes may get Monster Play items in addition to all of the items they would have normally received.

seems not true. I opened like 5 boxes and received 2 shadowed essenes lvl 10, 2 items for ash, small stack of rejuvenile potions. Ah, forgot 5 running potions And that's all. Don't you think it is too scarce for 5 gorgoroth boxes with wasted 5 black keys? All the other staff is for creeps - 3 stacks of morale, 3-4 stacks of items for barter. And I cant even send it to a creep.
So my view is that creep items replace usefull items in box loot. Not an addtion but replacement.

Typically the boxes give three items: an amount of Ash, a stack of crafting mats, and one of either: a piece of gear, an essence, a buff of some kind, a mount, a cosmetic item/pet, a housing item, or a weapons coffer. So the list you gave for 5 boxes appears to be what is expected to drop and the PvMP stuff is, indeed, in addition to the regular items.

Sorry but...why does it seems that in the first post you ask like it wasnt an intended mechanic and in the second post you say it is?

    Sounds pretty weird.

Because in between he talked to QA and got the answer, that's why. First response was to clarify and on the surface he believed it didn't sound right. Not hard to understand.

He doesn't say anything remotely like it being an intended mechanic...

Reading between the lines, he's implying that the boxes were planned to drop those items INSIDE PvMP areas only.
Simple reversal can get you there....

Creep items should not drop in Freep lootboxes. When I made the first post, I was starting my investigation into these reports. After speaking to the team, they sorted out what was happening, so I was able to provide further detail. In particular it was important to make sure that these drops were in addition to the regular stuff you would have received.

We are currently working on a game update for most likely the first half of next week to address this and a few other issues.
