Re: Item stats still wrong
What is the actual values for the Amber Ring?
What is the actual values for the Silver Spoon?
What is the actual values for the Floral Earring?
What is the actual values for the Ancient Signet Pendant?
What is the actual values for the Diamond Stud?
You need more info to back this up.

I don't have any screen shots on hand but what it looks to me what is happening is that the Lorebook is showing the stats as if the item level was the required level instead of what the item level really is.
So for the Diamond Stud it is showing stats for a level 58 version of the item because that is the level requirement instead of the stats for the real level 60 item it is.
After doing a search this is exactly what is happening. If you go to the following link it is showing the Diamond Stud as an "Item Lvl 58" item even though it is really level 60.

That gives us something to go on; thanks. If you can though, please post a screenshot from in-game, so we can double check things here.
Thanks again.

With all respect, I don't understand this comment - why are screenshots necessary?
Presumably you have access to all the correct in-game stats. The Lorebook either shows the correct stats for an item or it doesn't.
The Cloak of Shadow and Flame has incorrect stats too.
Also may items that I have in my inventory (quest rewards or world drops) are (still) missing entirely... :(
Re: Item stats still wrong
Hello! I made pictures!
There are a lot of items here, so I'll just show the Lorebook stats for the Amber Ring as an example. It seems like every single dropped piece of gear from Moria is affected. Things that existed before Moria like PVMP jewellery show correct stats. Gear from the Rep vendors also appears correctly.
Amber Ring (from Lorebook)
+36 Will
+18 Fate
+134 Maximum Morale
+18 Agility
+36 Vitality
On Use: +30 Vitality
Durability 50 / 50
Normal
Minimum Level: 56
A ring carved from solid amber.
Worth 3s 36c

Re: Item stats still wrong
Just to add my 2 cent while the lore book entry and the game entry are the same I think there is something wrong with the shoulders for the footman's gear the crit version has less armour then the normal version. links...

I am hoping there is an oversight in the lore book and in game.
thanks

Interesting... So far, the reports seem to be confined to armour, and it appears you believe it is confined to only Moria armour. I'm contacting the usual dev suspects to see what is up; will keep you updated.
If you see any issues with stat on weapons or other non-armour items, please let me know.
EDIT: OK, it appears to be common across armour and weapons. Again, in contact with the devs; will update when I have more info.

I don't think it is possible that the discrepancy is from item level vs. required level - for example, the Floral Earring requires level 60 (and must be level 60, unless you can have item levels above the cap). The Earring's stats are also off a bit, so it must be something else.
Re: Item stats still wrong
The diamond stud is lvl58 not sure where you found a lvl60 one :)

Floral Earring ≠ Diamond Stud :D I was just using a different example of an item with messed up stats, that would show that the req level and item level could be the same and still have issues.

Both the fact that item discrepancies (stats wrong, items missing) still exist, and that a Dev would need screen shots from live to investigate this are baffling to me.
Presumably there's an Item Database somewhere that is the "Master" from which all of the world servers replicate their data. Is not the Lorebook Item Database also a replica of that Master Item Database???
Can a Dev not query into both the Master and the Lorebook Item DB's to compare them?
I have only a passing knowledge of databases, and no knowledge of MMO architecture, so these questions are asked out of ignorance, not disrespect. I would just think, given the state of database software today, that there should be some way to insure that the Lorebook database is always in sync with the live data.
From the user's perspective, the problem is that we are several months on from the release of Moria, and a new book has just hit, and yet still we cannot trust the Lorebook as an accurate, authoritative source of item information. At the end of the day, the primary mission of the Lorebook should, imho, be about dispensing ACCURATE information about the game. When users see not one, but many, items with incorrect information, we wonder whether ANY of the information in the Lorebook can be trusted to be accurate.
Adding new features to the interface is nice, but if the data can't be trusted, all the chrome in the world won't make the system useful. I think the Lorebook is great, but when I look up an item (or anything else), I don't want to have to worry about whether or not the info is correct.

Won't go to in-depth or propeller-head here. The screen shots ensure that I have actual in-game looks at what players are seeing. Helps ensure I'm not mistakenly using a dev build of the data, out-of-date data, etc.

The analogy to a "Database" doesn't quite work, but the data both use are identical up to a point (more on that below). However, the Lorebook needs to know how to assemble the various bits that make up a tooltip puzzle in the correct way, just like the in-game client.
In this case, a new piece to the puzzle was added that the Lorebook didn't catch. We've circled with the appropriate devs and are testing a fix. So far, things are looking good, and I'm pushing to roll this out sooner rather than later once we've confirmed it is fixed.

Tiny glimpse behind the curtain... At some point, we have to "freeze" the state of the game data, so we can prep the updated Lorebook content for deployment. However, the in-game devs can still be tweaking item stats after our "freeze" meaning the Lorebook can get out of sync to an extent.
What we are working towards is a better, faster way of updating the Lorebook content once someone informs us that something is a bit off. Not going to get there overnight, but we'll get there.

No arguments here; that's why we're toiling away in the forges everyday hoping to craft the Legendary Lorebook.
Re: Item stats still wrong
Any news on the status of the Lorebook item stat update? With the new tooltips we are able to place in forums and third-party websites, its kinda silly that all the info is not proper.
Also, please check into the tooltip information. Many of the Armours are not displaying the armour value.
For this reason, we are still creating our own database of game items at www.lotroalliance.com This way, we have the ability to update the items to reflect what in-game does. Its a lot more work, but at least the info is more accurate.
Re: Item stats still wrong
Any updates on this issue? Maybe a chance it will be fixed for Book 8?
This data is showing up in more and more places, such as tooltips on links in the forums, and it would be nice to have the right data showing up.
Re: Item stats still wrong
I'm pleased to say that today's Lorebook downtime allowed us to roll out the fix for the stats for Moria items. You'll notice that durations for clickies still are not showing up, but hopefully the next update (Book 8) should take care of that.
Thank you to all who posted information, screen caps, etc. And thank you to everyone for their patience while we worked to get this resovled.

Re: Item stats still wrong
Excellent work! It is so refreshing to see something like the Lorebook (while it isn't directly associated with gameplay) get the attention it deserves. Thanks for putting the time and effort into this project.

Many thanks!
As indications are that substantial changes to crafted item stats are forthcoming in Book 8, will those changes be reflected in the Lorebook at or near release of Book 8? Please tell me we're not going to have to wait months for the new stats to make it to the Lorebook!

I believe any stats changing should carry over to the Lorebook tooltips. If they don't, I know you guys will let me know. ;)
