LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests (Updated 2010 May 12)
The Dwalin, Balin, & Moore LOTRO Lottery Commission are constantly monitoring the lottery system and your feedback. Below are the known issues, feature requests, and comments we can make about them as of 2010 May 12.
Known Issues
Session Characters
Currently, session play characters (those with a ~ in front of their names) can register for lotteries. Again...
Transferred Characters
This is a known issue in the my.lotro.com system where transferred characters are overly sentimental about their first home. You should not sign up characters for lotteries unless they are listed in the world they currently reside; we will be unable to deliver prizes to them. We are working on the underlying issue.
Monster Play Characters
Monster play characters are currently able to enter the lotteries and win. This is not working as intended. Creep characters should not be able to enter lotteries. We are unable to award any winnings in the event your creep character should win.
The lottery is here, but not there?!
There is a disparity on what lotteries are seen via the widget on your player page and what you see in the "Lotteries" tab on your character pages. The character pages are being naughty and showing off upcoming lotteries before they actually start. The player page widget gets a beer for respecting dwarven secrets.
Feature Requests
Reverse order of winnings list
The list of lotteries won should be sorted in reverse -- recent winnings on top.
Show the time of the lottery in current entry list
When displaying what lotteries you are currently entered into, the time should be displayed so you can tell when to check back and see if you won.
Smaller is better
The list of lotteries you've won for the very lucky has grown wild and unruly. Either trim the list down entirely or provide a small set on the widget with a link to a full page view of all winning entries, ideally paginated.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
How about a way to filter off characters we don't actively play? For example, I started toons on other servers to get a feel before I chose Landroval. On the character page, have a check box that when checked, makes that character eligible for the lottery. This way you don't have to go through a list like I did today of four different lotteries for lots of characters, most of which I don't play.

I have a lowbie character on another server that I don't play, but don't want to delete. So, if I enter them and they win something, it's taking away from someone else who actually does play on that server, while giving me nothing. That's why I wouldn't want to just enter all my characters. ;)
I still think the "select all" button will help though. I can select all, then untick 3 boxes, and I'll be good to go.
In conclusion, yay lotteries. :D

Maybe for folks who wanted to lock in names across all servers that don't play them all (yet). If they enter all of their many selves, it lowers their chances for the ones they play. (Now, if we could send mail from server to server, I bet they would be entering them all--not that I'm asking for that! I'm just expounding on a theory.)

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Just got notification of class lotteries today (3 Nov) on launcher. Logged on to forums, read announcement, but no widget in left hand column? What's the skinny? I don't qualify for the lottery? Hmmm.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Did you go to your page, or the main mylotro page?

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
When i click the "my LOTRO" button to go to the lottery, it says that the page redirecting has failed... and i have tried it on Safri, firefox, nd internet explorer... can anybody help me?

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
BIG issue. Characters that no longer exist showing up in selection list. If they get selected and win, items go into the ether, cheating out someone else who has a character. Please, remove deleted characters from the player database.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
My wife has a char that she transferred from BW to LR and then back to BW and it is never eligible for Lottos still.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Probably not the only one (and admit I amnot sure where to post this actually, so please be kind).
I created a character named AHAZU
I had tried to make it to 20th level without dying (a number of times) to get the UNDYING title (more times than really worth it).
However on the last incarnation (which also died just before 20th), I decided to leave it as is and suck it up.
On the website when the lottery shows up, there are 2 versions of said character.. the current (or most current, now lvl 26) and the older version at 19th level.
My 19th level character won the lottery, but as I have no way to access a character from the past, I cannot claim the reward.
I did name the characters the same name each time I re-created the character (which I realize can make it absolutely confusing). I have only played on the Arkenstone server (which probably compounds the issue).
I am not sure what to do, or where to go to readily figure out the issue or how to resolve it.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
On one of my accounts for the lottery, there is a character listed that I do not own. On my second account, the player was anonomous to the community but was changed a week ago, however, it still shows the character as being anonomous for the lottery. Can you help me with both these issues please?

Some of us feel you should work just a tiny bit for a shot at winning; however, kinder beards have prevailed. We are hoping to roll out an update in the near future that will allow a one-click selection of all eligible characters for every lottery. We've even placed a submit button at the top so you won't have to scroll down.
Yay! Let laziness prevail!

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
My creep on Silverlode won the lottery on the 14th. can you set it so that the creeps can't be entered or at least remove them from the entry list so when I select all it won't include my creeps.
thank you

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
In the Winning Entries section, can it be sorted the other way around?
As is, it's sorted lowest date won to present.
I had a character win a Heavensday Lotto and didn't realize it for several weeks because I really just did not notice the scroll bar, and assumed it would be sorted with the most recent winning entry first on the list...

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Apparently it's a known issue that characters over level 60 cannot receive silver rewards (it doesn't know how to calculate 'level appropriate' silver amounts for characters 61-65).

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Well I have won the Highday Lotto on 12/14/09 and the Monday Lotto on 12/30/09 on my lvl 65 minstral. I did not recieve any silver as a lottery winner either time. I find it annoying that this has been going on as long as it has but you have not been able to fix it. 2 of my characters had won the lottery prior to this and he was level 60 and did recieve silver then for the "Daily lottery" and also the "Highday Lotto".

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
My level 40 Man Warden Galthwayne on Landroval won the Highday Lottery on 12/28/09 but the only prize I received was 400S. Usually there are trait pots, mithril flakes, food, etc. Was this a mistake, or was I just unlucky?

I noticed that it only specified silver as the lotto reward on 12/28 so I think something went wrong with it, but you received what was offered.

Re: LOTRO Lottery Known Issues & Feature Requests
Guess I can't complain then :) 400 silver is better than nothing!

When logged into MyLOTRO, click on the "My Profile" link at the top, then "My Characters" at the left. You'll see all of your characters with three check boxes for options on what to show.
