A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
This REALLY REALLY irritates me. I had completed two thirds of this quest prior to the update and turned in the collected items to the quest NPC. All I had left to do was collect the two items from CD/URU and turn those in. Now, after the recent update I have to START ALL OVER and find/kill Helchuan again and collect the Glad Ereg vines from Eregion. Then I have to collect the Barghest Paws and and Corrosive Droplets again after having already given all my extras to other people who needed them from my kinship, of course.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
Are you serious? Man, that's going to annoy the bejeezus out of me if it's not an isolated incident. I had both quests sitting at the final CD/Uru stage too.
I'll be able to log in to the game in a little while. I'll check and see if either of my quests were versioned out.
Edit: Yeah, it's gone from my quest log as well. The other one is still there though at least.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
im now scared to log in my rk, as i did both quests up to the cd/uru parts

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
Wow, I am so glad I finished those quests last week.. I bit the bullet and paid 3g for the last item I needed. I was a good investment.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
It happened to my Captain...I was only on the first part though. There was info about this in the release patch I believe. If I can hunt it down I'll link it.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
Yep same here although I was part way through and had the vines/hide on me waiting to be turned in. GM could do nothing, said it was listed as a known issue. It was not as of last week

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
Started back on my runekeeper last night and noticed the same thing. Good news- apparently no "note" to keep in my inventory, but all my progress was gone. Like others, was just lacking barghest paws before finishing with the CD/Uru items. Wound up using it as an opportunity to finish up some Zigilgund quests and get my rep up in Forochel, but was still a bit of a hassle, obviously.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
And I thought it was just me. (Ignore sig - I do have a lvl 58 RK :) )
I also lost all progress on that darn quest and was trying to figure out how I accidentally managed to cancel it. Notes from both of those quests are gone from my inventory as well. Some sort of bug with update?

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
Really? thats just werid. 2 of my other chars (hunter and LM) are in middle and did not reset.
I actuly didnt bother with my Rk's lv45 quests, since awards sucked.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
yep mines gone, as are the paws i paid gold for :(
cant believe theres been no word on this

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
I just logged in and confirmed I was suffering from the same problem. I was also on the last part of the quest (collecting the CD/Uru items) and now I'm back to the first objective - the vines and Helchuan's hide. I posted this on the general discussion forums, hopefully this will bring some attention to the issue :(

Yeah the stone and the trinket aren't worth it but after that comes a Legendary trait.
I wasn't effected by this but Turbine really needs to take a look at it.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
I had something similar but not as drastic on my RK
The quest for one of the items, I forget which one, vanished and I had to re pick it up from Gondamon however I hadn't lost any progress and was at the final Uru/CD point.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
I just looked into it. The issue is known, bugged, and will be fixed in the next patch. Sorry about the inconvenience!

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
Thanks ZC.
Question though...what happens if we get back to where we were and have not finished before the next update? I don't want to start over just to have the old quest versioned out as part of the fix.
Thanks.

Yes, this happened to my 52 RK too...one 50 class quest is missing, the other is still there...they were both at the tier 3 stage. Now I'd like to hear from a dev whether your "fix" will re-credit us with the work we had done (ie reset me at tier 3 stage for the missing quest) or is their "fix" just a "this wont happen any more but for those already affected, tough luck we dont care about your toons"...
If this is a known issue, then why aren't GMs resetting the quest?...its not like we did anything to screw up, its turbine's screw up yet we suffer?

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
My apologies. A developer unintentionally versioned this quest in the prior patch. It's an unusual bug, but one that is very hard to catch in QA as it doesn't 'break' anything.
I looked at doing a fix for it, but at this stage if I reverted the quest all it would do is wipe your progress AGAIN.
I've talked with CS, but I don't believe if there is anything they can do to reset or restore prior quest states in this case. There's no record of a prior state to revert to. :(
I know that's not really what anyone wanted to hear, but that's about the size of it in this case.

Will this developer be made available for a public flogging?
Or perhaps a public rotten-fruit-tossing, if the first option is deemed to violent?

Trust me, the only thing this hobbit delivers are spoiled pies. I'm not even gonna touch that one.

Although it wouldn't help in this case, have you at all considered converting those class quests to individual quests per stage rather than one quest with 3 stages?

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
I vote that everyone with the quest currently in progress gets it auto-completed on next patch.... :) I know my 45 RK that just picked up the quest would love that, hehe But seriously I really feel for those that were on the last step and got completely hosed.
I think this points out a major flaw in the Versioning process for quests. When a quest is versioned and everyone is reverted, there should be a status saved of the old quest process for each character so that it could possibly be restored if something like this happened again in the future. While it should never be used, not doing it leaves you open to this kind of "opps!" issues where an honest mistake completely negates peoples hours/days/weeks/months of work...

What about the log?
One of the quests remained without any problem at the right stage of progress, yet the other was wiped as if never acquired, it must be reflected what everyone of us did in the game log.
I don't see why one of the two quests didn't have any problem while the other disappeared.

They're two different quests. Only one was versioned, which is why the other quest is still ok.

Re: A Worthy Garment - Anyone Else Lose Their Progress???
Oh well, any chance of me finishing this quest in the near future is now gone, didn't really want to grind skirmishes to get the last item I needed anyway.
What exactly was the issue in the past with the quest that it needed attention anyway, and more importantly how are you going to fix it in the next patch?
How disappointing now that customers who had worked on this quest over months are now basically told: "Oh well, try again!"
