The big advantage of being an armourer is that you can just make new armour for everyday use during the first half of the game. Much cheaper than repairing and you need to level the craft anyway.
Big advantage of being an armsman is that you can always have a top of the line main-hand weapon. Important during the first half of the game given how weak the damage output of a guardian can be. On the bright side a Guardian's main-hand weapon probably counts as cosmetic and can be in the extra vault :D.
Big advantage of explorer is money but it's a pain to stop for so many nodes.
Big advantage of tinker for a guardian is that you get the food cheaper and you'll probably need it. Also, jewelry breaks very easily and you are the sucker who gets beaten up a lot. So you can make your own replacements.
