Some people over at lotrocommunity.com are reporting problems accessing these forums at the moment.

Some people are reporting errors when visiting this site whilst others are unable to log in.
Anyone else having any issues right now or perhaps can suggest a fix?
well they have been adding a lot of subforums lately for the german players and moving things around ect. Might have something to do with it.
This is my free account so I hope I don't get into trouble for posting using this account instead of my main account, but I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this.
I can't login to the forum using my Lifetime VIP account. I can load the forum page, load the login screen and enter my details. However, I then get a 500 error when actually trying to login. Once that happens I can no longer access the forum at all until I clear my browser's cache.
I have tried using four different browsers and even different devices. The same problem occurs each time.
I can also not access the forum from in game, again I receive an error.
I can, however, login using this free account. Interestingly I can't access the forum in game using my free account.
Looking into this for everyone.
If you guys can post any more information, such as what browser you're using, and when this problem started to occur, that would be helpful.
I normally use Chrome, but also tried Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari.
I was able to post normally yesterday lunchtime (UK time) and noticed that I could no longer access the forum around 7pm or so (UK time).
When trying to login I get a '500 error' and it tells me there was an internal server error.
I have tried rebooting my router, changing drivers, changing browsers, etc. Nothing seems to work.
The link I posted above contains some information about browsers etc... from people who are unable to access the forums (and therefore unable to post!)Quote:

I checked the LC forum and noticed that a poster said they could see their new toon on a US server listed in MyLotro Character Sheet
So I created a new toon on the Dwarrowdelf Server and lo-and-behold I can now access these forums and the full MyLotro site
So is this a workaround? If I am reading you right you created a new toon on a U.S. server with your main account and then you could access the forum as normal?Quote:

I logged in with my Migrated EU Account (Main, Lifetime VIP)
Created a new toon on Dwarrowdelf. My first toon on US servers on this account
Have a seperate US F2P account
So it appears that it is just the EU servers that are not getting access to MyLotro
And not the accounts
Let's hope they are working on fixing this. Because if not, then it will be a BIG letdown for the EU community. Who have been waiting for so long for access to MyLotro

Thanks for the update mate. I have just created a new toon on an American server with my main account. Will post here soon and let you know if it works too. :)

Can confirm that the workaround works! I created a toon on Elendilmir and waited a few minutes. Can now access the forum using my normal account. :)
I had the same problems. I created a character over at Landroval and now it can log in again :). Apears that the workaround works.
I have still the problem. I tried to use the workaround, but it had no effect. :(

I had exactly the same problem. Tried the creating a character on the US servers and that seems to have gotten me access again. Very strange!Quote:

First off, this is my F2P account that I normally don't use for Forum posting but as my normal account can't I'm using it for this:
I'm also having this problem. I get two different symptoms: either a completely blank page (not even a <html> tag) OR a "We're sorry a server error has occurred" message.
Clearing away all cookies from *.lotro.com and *.turbine.com allowed me to view the forum in "anonymous" mode.
Logging in to my VIP account transferred from CM again gives either a blank page or the error page even though the account has a toon on Brandywine.
I've only tried Firefox on Windows 7 (x64).
The problem started for me some time last night i.e. 22:ish GMT+2
Just as a quick update, everyone who had been experiencing this issue should no longer be experiencing it. Our web team has applied a fix across the board that should alleviate this issue!

just for the record: partially fixed.
i tried logging in after Celestra's 'fixed' message, got an error message (chrome) and hit 'back' - only to see the green format signalling logged in around the login box.
