"special lotteries all weekend long"

Just wondering what happened to these "special lotteries" for the lootbox keys that were advertised at http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?447459-This-weekend-only!-Get-more-Lootboxes-amp-Keys-throughout-Middle-earth!&p=6018149#post6018149 ?

I actually got my first box yesterday so would like a chance to check it out, though I don't even know if my character can open it as she got it at level 19 and is now level 20, however the box says it's only for levels 10-19(I forgot to scroll over it and check if it said anything after she levelled)? I certainly doubt I will ever find a key since this is the very first box that has ever dropped for any of my characters and for such a low level item I won't be visiting the store either so all my hopes rest on winning a key!

...wonders why no treasure maps, those at least would be fun and digging up the "treasure" would surely break the lock... :p

In all honesty if anything I've noticed a decline in them. Last weekend me and my buddy each found 2. This weekend none so far with near equal play times

I don't think the staff who work during the week talk to the staff working weekends. The same thing happened a few weeks ago where they posted 'all weekend' and there was one draw on sunday.

Not a single lotto, all weekend long.

All I can say, this lockbox promotion must have been interferred with by Sauron. I flattened critters all day yesterday, no boxes or keys....and worse no lotteries! The forces of evil have been at work....

Yea, I was about to post the same thing before seeing this thread. As far as I can tell there have been no Lotteries this weekend, much less any lotteries that have included keys (not that I have gotten any boxes to drop, but that's another story). Admittedly, I haven't checked the lotteries every minute of each day, but it seems to me like someone neglected to flip a switch...

I've been checking the lotteries at least every hour - nothing. Not that I'm in the least bit surprised.

I'm not surprised either. Can't wait to hear the excuse for this foul-up.

I'd accept a Key (I'm just going to call them Sing keys, any Asheron's Call player knows what I'm talking about) for every 100-200 mobs I killed this weekend >=)

My buddy did end up getting a 25-30 or something box in the end.

I certainly didnt see any of the advertised lotteries.

I'd like to see lotteries that gave 5x lootbox, 5x key as a series of level appropriate lottos.

Not sure what happened there, but to try and make up for it all of today's regularly scheduled lotteries will have keys in them. In truth this probably means more keys given away and more chances for everyone as the regular lotteries have the largest winning pools of any lotteries (with rare exceptions) and there are 6 of them.

I don't see any lotteries up today?

..How about a special series of level bounded lotteries for a box then? Keys are much more level agonistic with a long term value.

Also, can you confirm the event rate has been set back to previous value, and speak maybe to how much you cranked it up?

Regularly scheduled lotteries run according to the posted schedule in the sticky at the top of this forum. They start at noon Eastern time today.

I dunno if this helps or not Sap but seems there were more drops of boxes and keys on Friday night than on Saturday and Sunday combined.

Sapience, since mistakes can clearly be made, can you possibly confirm the drop rate was increased this past weekend. The general consensus is that Lootboxes did not drop any better than normal. Personally I found ZERO after trying all weekend. Before the alleged increase( last week) I found 1 Lootbox. This does not compute !

An actual number would be most appreciated

The drop rate was confirmed as having been enabled (and just recently disabled). From the feedback I've seen so far, both in game comments and here on the forums, I'd be hard pressed to say there was a 'consensus' that it hadn't been improved. I've seen many comments about players finding multiple boxes and keys this weekend. There are many who say they saw no increase, but I'm going to have to assume that's just the nature of random drops. They tend to be...random.

Sapience, this may be a more general comment but since Turbine is looking to get TP purchases of keys, wouldn't it make sense to have a better drop rate for the boxes? I have yet to see a single box on any toon I've played since these went live, enhanced drop rate or not. I have managed to loot a single key.

Star Trek Online recently started dropping lootboxes as well, with a purchased key to open them. Those boxes are plentiful to the point of being a nuisance. I know some nice things can drop from Lotro's lootboxes, but STO's drop an exclusive ship, which has exclusive weapons and maybe the best DPS cruiser in the game, as well as rare commodities, some unique ship equipment, and rare consumables.

If the point is to make some $$$ off of these, shouldn't they drop with enough frequency to actually do that?

So we just remain in the dark about actual percentage of increase?

XP weekends are announced as "Double XP" etc

Was this a doubled chance ?

Or is the actual increase also "randomized"

Surely you can understand our desire to know if the chances are significant or not...Dont want to waste time if not worth it

For some reason I thought we announced it. After checking with those involved I can confirm the drop rate was intended to be doubled and was doubled from Friday afternoon until about 2 hours ago.

Thanks for the info

From what I saw this weekend (I did play for a long time as well) I saw two lock boxes drop and one key. This is better than the one box I have seen before this weekend.
