Thanks for pointing this out Spidey, it was quite the interesting read and as you can see in it now, I agree with the stripping of rank and audacity. I don't think it will be put into use as a way of consequence but, the thought is quite pleasing.
Actually the props should go to Wrecks for making us aware of the thread, he posted it in glff last night.
I see someone that would be most affected by it seems to enjoy it too.
It is pretty interesting, 2013 and people still think turbine might do something the community actually wants still haha.
You have to admit that it would be hilarious if one day all the farmers logged in and found they were reduced down to nekid rank 0 noobs, lol. One thing that I've learned, never say never! It's their game, they can do whatever they want, I mean what are you farmers going to do, sue? Boycott?
BTW, reading the U11 Dev diaries, it seems they are finally doing many things the community wants. When the bottom line is drowning in red ink and some suit at WB is asking &&&, there's no telling what turbine will do to keep their collective heads off the chopping block. Never say never........
I'll concur with Toq on this one.
This is all just speculation. The track record on Turbine file is something like this.
They will make a huge announcement about the cracking down on farmers/multiboxers and other idiots of savory nature.
Subsequently, just like the promised pvp map, the lack of action will be blamed on the deficit of resources or some other ridiculous excuse that these people come up with, while the execs are stuffing those bottomless coffins of cash!
I'll only believe it when it will officially be implemented into CoC!
Heh, id roll a new BA, spend $60 and be back to where im at now, rank wise too within another year with the gains we get now days.
Too bad its still never gonna happen lol. If it does tho they surely aren't going to be able to nab everyone who is guilty of it.
Simply impossible.

If Turbine handles this the way other MMO devs do, they'll go after those who exploited the most, so the front end of the bell curve would be the most vulnerable. That being said, I don't really know how much effort they are willing to dedicate to culling out farmers. Its a time consuming process and would require db admins as well as normal cs folks.
Who knows though, it would be nice to see it happen.
Any action that they may take will surely be a hammer to those it will effect. If no action is taken I'm pretty sure more revenues will be lost from players leaving the game but at the same token revenues would be lost hiring those who could pursue the ones that are guilty of said action breaking CoC.
As the title says, I just thought was interesting. Interesting that Lil Ricky would even respond in that thread. Trust me, my faith in turbine doing anything the right way is far below any of yours.
ok, i'll bite.
what's clubbing?

substitute the baby seal for your personal freaver, or occaisionally your freep.
Simply saying they are going to crack down on it could have a beneficial effect. Even without banning anyone, we will have gone from the case of a person farming freavers endlessly with the belief that Turbine doesn't care, to a case where the person now has to weigh the prospect of a life-time ban. Will that stop all of it? Probably not. You will still get people rolling the dice. Just knowing that there might be a cop in a speed-trap beyond the next hill slows me down. Things are not absolute. An improved situation is preferable to the current one, even if not yet a perfect one.
It was never against the CoC, Dav, but it could be construed as "unintended gameplay". It's just that back in the day the community would police it's own. Now with F2P no one cares about the community so it's just a big farm fest and pretty much why LOTRO is the laughing stock of the PvP community at large.
