I'll start.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw a WB exec out with Chris Tolkien at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Absolutely not, I.can assure you that Chris and I were in Vegas last night at the MGM grand enjoying some hobbit slot machines and talking about selling away the silmarillion rights to Bethesda so they can make a MOBA, where you can play Fingon vs Melkor or Hurin Vs Balrog to your hearts content. He said he was really excited to see his father's works undusted and improved by the gaming industry.....
I'm not sure i see how bashing or making fun of Chris Tolkien is in any way relevant to either the game or the forums.
Certainly not. My neighbor's cat's flee told me he was in the wig of said WB executive and listened in on the guy talking to Christopher Tolkien how they were merging LOTRO's servers with those of WoW as part of their hostile takeover of Blizzard, and how much chaos free roaming creeps all over LOTRO's landscape would cause. Unfortunately the flee didn't remember much more save some wierd image of a blurry flashing firey lidless eye that still lingers in the poor critters brain and defiles its dreams.
Now see if you can unverify -that-!
I think you missed the joke.

Given the title of the thread and the OPs comment, he's making that point that some people will mindlessly repeat information, even if the source is questionable and the information is (as in the clip) completely false and then claim it as verified.
Christopher Tolkien wasn't the target. People like Simone (see the clip) were.
I heard differently. My dog is friends with an insider at the WB, who is on speaking terms with a cousin's mom's dog's hamster's best friend, who happens to know Christoper Tolkien and they are planning a crossover between Middle Earth, Harry Potter and the DC Universe.
Batman will stalk the streets of Minas Tirith after an incident with a dimensional time transporter, while and Gandalf will make a return from Valinor in order to become a professor at Hogwarts.
However, the main villain turns out a fusion of Morgoth, undead Voldemort and Darkseid.
;)
(Love this thread, by the way).
It's called "Baskin-Robbins."
How are we supposed to believe your story if you can't even get the name of the ice cream vendor right?
Turns out I was misinformed.
It was in fact Christopher Walken...not Tolkien. And it was an NBC exec. And they were not discussing anything related to this game other than Walken's lore master on Brandywine. so sorry for the confusion.
But on a side note we will definitely have a Peter Jackson directed screen adaptation of "the Continental".
So we got that going for us, which is nice.
