Effective PvMP Hunter Trait Specs - Need Input!

Very interested to find anyone who has a Hunter that regularly PvP's currently. I've tried all 3 spec lines (and a mix of a couple) and found the following (Note, I do have a second age bow and dagger, crit 95 armour/cloak, crit offhand dagger, x2 crit 95 jewellery ..rest are crit 90 pieces.. and T9-10 relics.... not running with quest items and drops):

- Blue Line: Nice to be able to move around in combat, but sacrifices a ton of damage for mobility. Can hardly touch enemies.. and when I can it's not for a whole hell of a lot. (tried this against a R0 warglet and was hitting between 500-1k per hit...)

- Red Line: Ton of damage, but turret. Dev critting 20k on mobs and about 10k on weak creeps. Probably 5-6k crits on high ranking creeps if I'm lucky.

- Yellow Line: Is there any point to this line in PvMP aside from just making creeps angry? The traps and DoTs are nice, but seriously lacking when faced against folks with 13+ aud and 40k+ health.

Is there any effective hunter trait specs for PvMP that work either in or out of group? I know I'll be squishy for some time, or even permanently, even with aud gear, but from a damage or survival perspective... is there anything that has been tested and successful? It seems to me that I'm stuck with *either* Yellow line *or* Red line for any effectiveness in PvMP and I'm SoL unless I'm in a group. Soloing seems off the table unless anyone has comments to the contrary.

In U12 blue or yellow trait lines were good to fight alone or small groups with poor heals. Red line for RvR.

In U13 nothing you can do will help u much alone, but blue line still your best option in my opinion. Red still the line for raids vs raids, kite a bit when u are the dps target and hope your healers will sustain you until creeps give up (lm tar, low cut and other slows/cc are needed).

Moors rings set are nice for the extra mitigation since U13 nerf on that subject. Top virtues for mitigation are also very much needed and I run with 2/2/2 moors set when alone (extra crit defense) and 4/2 in RVR (4 from the predator set for the extra healing debuff on merciful shot).

Since u13, even with top audacity, moors rings sets and top virtues, alone hunters are easy kill for almost any high ranked creep (good ranked reavers and weavers are the hardest in my humble opinion).

I have 66 trait points.
For solo play, I have 2/2/2 armour sets for max. crit defence and go full blue with a touch of red and some yellow. Good against most lower ranked classes and some higher ranked wargs.
Also good build for small groups with 1 healer, because you have to kite a lot.

Full yellow with a touch of blue I rarely use; when creeps come to Ost or when we're carrying a relic and I need CCs to slow creeps behind us.

Fully red with 4/2 set for healing debuff in raids, when you can rely on healers, or in smaller groups with 2+ healers.

This guy on my server https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2nyAE34Qrs runs a yellow/blue hybrid if I remember rightly and he doesnt really have any issues have a look at how he uses traps and his movement helped me a lot with my hunter in the moors

The EP set with bubbles is reasonable. Has more vit on (unfortunately doesn't add to mits anymore) and the bubbles could save you in a tight spot and prevent inductions being set back (i think).

I've read that red using +strength damage legacies and slows works well enough but I'm no expert.

If only in yellow we wouldn't lose focus on the target while we're putting down traps, that'd be nice.

I run a yellow/blue hybrid all the time and don't have any problems losing the target when throwing traps. It may be because I don't trait ranged traps so I just throw them down without the ground-targeting step. (?)

This video and accompanying videos were an amazing help. I swapped over to the Yellow line with about 30 points in yellow and 28 points in blue (only have 59 available). I will probably never look back. I couldn't solo OP's before or many creeps before, but today I've solo'd up to R10 creeps and some OP's. Absolutely wonderful.

It all depends on where you are, go a blue/yellow mix for out in open areas, but red if you are on top of a keep or in a raid IMO.

The yellow/blue line seems to work in small groups, solo or even in raid for me. The traps are really nice for keeping creeps from running away from the group (and for those who like to strafe through or around the group) or trapping off a door to a tyrant room in case any creep gets the idea to try and interrupt the keep capture. Red does nice damage, but I feel the yellow/blue makes me more versatile and more valuable to a group.

We'll see. R5 at the moment and able to solo almost any creep (aside from most defilers and a couple spiders here and there.. both classes which need some re-balancing). Can get a R13 reaver below 10k health solo, which makes me happy even though I haven't been able to kill them solo as of yet.

I'll have to try it out, obviously trait to one trap..... But if you're in a backdoor camp situation, IMO it makes sense to go up top and nuke everything in red line, when you leave switch back to blue/yellow mix.
On an off note, do you also trait Hearseeker?

Nah. I haven't traited heartseeker at all since the trait trees were implemented. Even when I'm red traited. There are so many other good options outside of red line that in the time it would take me to get a heartseeker off on a creep, I could have gotten off multiple other arrow shots whether they be induction based or instant that would add up to more than the heartseeker. That's just my personal feeling on it, though.

My personal experience with yellow line is that creeps tend to run away or call for help before you can finish them off with the slow, DoT dps of yellow line, if you're winning the fight.

I highly prefer redline, with a bit of blue to grab improved precision so that you can stance swap and kite while keeping up focus, both solo and in group.

In raids, I run 4 predator set for the (basically essential) merciful shot inc healing debuff, and while solo I run 2/2/2 for the crit defence and improved survivability.

I enjoyed running a blue/red hybrid in U12 solo sometimes, but not too often, and I don't think blue is very effective while solo anymore. Best chance of getting a kill is surprising them from camo in red, but that's just my experience.

Has served me well from R2-R6 in the 'moors at lvl 95. Should be just as effective at 100, but will wait and see.

Granted, the creeps have started to learn and take me out damn fast in groups before I can make my traps too effective... unless there's a good healer nearby :P

I am missing only 1 point for class skill points, so 68 points total. As I am bored and always trying to find new ways of doing things, I am trying a new way of dividing points lately.

I am running in Blue line but I have spent nearly all my points in the red line skills. all the way down to unlocking upshot. I hit like a Abrams while still being able to gain focus at all times and kite. I have max points in a few blue line skills as well, mostly for focus damage skills and induction time in blue line.

Bottom line is, I can hit with all red line skills while being able to kite and aoe. It works well. the obvious drawback is that it costs twice as much skill points when traiting red skills in blue line. But I find that it works for me and I am spreading the word around.

I did my own yellow-blue hybrid, it kicks butt! I am still using 85 gear, and even then I'm wrecking creeps! Its awesome.

For virtues, I go Innocence, Determination, Tolerance, Zeal, and Fidelity. Valor has really lost its appeal imo as its just raw morale and the mits are way more important now.

I'm generally running around with 46.5% phys mit and 40.5% tact mit, while still having 42.5k phys mastery, and around 50k phys mastery with 2 OPs, having 27.6% crit and 26% finnesse.

I feel as though if you wanna 1v1 on hunter, blue lines the way to go (I like it for overall pvp though as it fits my playstyle and I still hit hard as heck). I of course incorporate important red line traits like PO, which is one of the best yet one of the most underrated skills in the game imo, esp with the legacy. And then in yellow line, I check off the mits and tripwire, which is a great skill to use in a 1v1.

I have moderate success with that build, and feel its the best way to go. I do not kite in 1v1s, either.

I'm converted to Yellow Line against my willingness to not do so and not wanting to be a sapper, but its the best line for 1v1ing and you dont need to kite with it either and can do way more effective against creeps having to utilize more skills against you. Ignore my previous post about blue line being the best way to go, but it'll still my fave from my biased opinion.

I'm actually up to 49.7% phys mit and 43.4% tact mit.

I think this is my trait set, I took on a r9 warg, only lost because her/my friends showed up to kill me lol

I have a related question to this theme: My hunter does fairly well in groups with heal. But one-on-one I can only take out wargs and reavers constantly, as well as the occasional low-ranks and very few blackarrows. I have yet to win against a blue rank spider or defiler - with R9. I lose to spiders even if they don't use the reflect spell and don't burrow.
I usually run a yellow-red hybrid solo, and as armor the 4 pcs predator set combined with two essence pieces.
What should / could I do better?

As a mention, I'm not talking about organized duels, I'm talking about random fights where everything is allowed.
