Captains and Finesse

For Solo/1v1ing, What is your finesse typically at?
Myself I sit at 9k Finesse which equates to 19.1% But I find I miss my key skills so much.

I'm wondering if I have too much invested in other areas and need to throw a finesse essence on or not?

Here is my setup right now. Only Rank 8 so I get +% Morale from BFP

Morale - 23k With DPS Banner 26k With Hope Token + Man Racial
Crit - 26.7% (28.7% With Sure Strike Buff)
Mastery - 51k (2 OPs)
Crit-D - 50.8%
PhysMit- OC/FW 52.7%
TacMit - 57.6%

Usually Cap those with Herald and Scroll.
My essence Pieces are 2 Supreme Phys Mit, 2 Greater Morale
and 2 Tact Mit 1 Major morale and major crit D for armor. I also use a gold BB ring with Supreme Morale and the Teal Tact Mit BB ring with Supreme Crit D. Should I swap out that major Crit D for a finesse? Would I notice any difference?

Any tips are appreciated. I don't have much trouble in 1v1s except with a few people who I think are exceptional at their respective classes and those fights I heavily depend on Crits to win.

i have around 12k finesse, i believe (will log on later to check), and i land most of what i need. obviously there are times where things dont land, but ive had that happen when ive stacked 19k finesse. above 10-ish theres no huge point in looking for more.

im sure someone will give a much more detailed answer, but this is just my opinion from what i have noticed while playing my captain since HD came out really.

EDIT: i am curious though, you say you have 2 crit defense essences, yet only have 50% crit defense. im not sure where you are missing out on so much, as i dont use any and i am at 49%

For PvMP 9k is not enough. I suggest 13k-15k.
For PvE 9k might be enough, 10k+ is better though.

Am I just getting diminishing returns you think? I go 2-2 Moors armor. with 2 Crit D Essences. Maybe I'll grab a couple Essence Removal Scrolls and test that out.

i doubt there is that much DR, as i use 4 command moors peices, so im guessing i just have crit d in place you dont. LI title and stuff

That could be it, I dont have any crit D on my LIs

OP: I've found 12-15k to be the proper range for most physical classes (major exception being champs). IMO the penalty for missing a SL is too high to go around with less than 12k, but past 15k you start leaving major holes in morale or mitigations.

Gah Tarp. I thought I had a modestly original build thought up, but I see you've beat me to it by a long shot. Another week and you'll have an unranked twin running around (well, maybe 90% the same, not counting LIs.)

I was initially at 19%. Even won couple 1v1s. But i guess it was against creeps not traiting mits/resistance.
Cuz i fought some after, mits traited. I was doing close to NO dmg at all.
After i've switched to 28%. Works wayyyy better. I've mentioned significant increase in my dps output. Same goes for my RK, way better with 26%+. Had to sacrifice some morale though =\ But having 1k more morale wasn't helping me to kill anything -.-

Yeah, I basically have the same exact build you have with the exception of LI titles which I'm about to change to help with Crit Defence.

I'm up to 24k With no outside buffs in the moors, I need to make Morale swaps and stuff. with token and racial I can get to 28k which is good enough for me for now.
I've worked out the finesse situation by swapping a Crit D essence for Finesse. Sitting at almost 14k for 24% now. I still have a tough time with tanky traited reavers who spam dust/disarm but other than that I think I do fine.

dust makes reavers a complete rng fight, so if you miss things like sl/db you'll struggle no matter what. and those that mit trait arent looking for fun fights, imo :P they are looking to win.

personally i dislike any +miss chance debuffs. at least to the magnitude of reaver/burg dust. there is already way too much rng/proc based #### running around the moors, and we need less imo, not more.

Oh yeah no doubt. That seems to be the only way reavers trait on Crickhollow these days with the exception of a few.
