Essence 4th Slot suggestions wanted - Thanks for helping

Hello Captains,

First, i do not like the Essence System :-)
But like the benefit of the Class Essence.

I find no true/better Breast Armour.
The Tanky one has only Parry and Evade. I miss Crit Defence.
The Damage one has Physical Mastery on It, and too few Crit.

So i have to to Swap some items and come to the Conclusion that the Breastplate would be a good Item to switch.

Me has over 50% Crit Defence and the Crit is over 14.500 (That will be Cap if my own buffs are on)
Mostly i am in Red on the Road.
Damage support not focused on my own damage.
Works well, but i want to increase it.

Heavy Nadhin Armour
The Start Might value is 119
With 4 Slots.

1) Me wants to take the Class Essence with Outgoing healing.

Essence of the Protector
Item Level: 192
Critical hits have a 25% chance to increase healing output by 20% for 10s.
+20% Outgoing Healing Modifier
Duration: 10s

I think i would be able to let the Buff (nearly) be on the whole time.

2+3) 2x +2766 Tactical Mitigation
This, because it is difficult to get it on other ways.
And i am not at Cap. This would decrease my incoming Damage.


4) I am not sure.

+2457.6 Incoming Healing Rating
Could be an idea. This would be increase my Incoming heals by ca. 5%.
Me uses the Settings with Crit and Incoming Heal on my LI. So it would rise from 12,5% to 17,5%
If i tank in Yellow the Mistrels i asked, say i am nice to heal, even now.

On the other Way i lose by this Swap ca. 100 Might and 239 Vita (=>717 [746 Yellow] Moral)

I am not a friend of high Moral Values. Because Moral i have only once.
Incoming Heal i have on each Heal, Mitgration count on each hit, .....
In Former Days me goes for Vita instead of Moral, to get Mitgration - but this is gone.....

Other Way i take a Might, or a boring Moral one.


Better Ideas?


Me inspect some Captains, and found only 2 with Class Essences. That surprised me, but the next too:
That two take the Damage one.
"retaliation" means you have to get one, then you get a chance to get the buff. Maybe in the Etten could this an option.

Me reads that the Healing one will work as promissed. Me would take 2 of it, if it could be done and the Outgoing Healing becomes +40% :-)

I'd go with the might essence, it will boost both masterys' and keep your might on a par with what you had before.

I understand that a lot of people find the essence gear a little overwhelming at first, it's so open as to what to slot, and everybody will be a little different according to their own preferences, playstyle and current gear.
But in the end, I think full essence gear is the way to go.

In my dps gear, might hits 6352 making physical mastery (with BB on my herald) 67,095 while Tactical mastery is 53,803.

Had hoped that more Ideas meet this thread.

I personally love incoming healing. There are also some great settings that have....I think moral, crit and incoming healing that you can use to buff that stat. I use those over the critical devastate because I run a lot of T2 where my point is to buff not be another DPS person. But I also like it because cappies always have problems self healing, and anything that helps me self heal I like.

You already have a decent Inc heal rating, so you could easily go moral. If you generally only run T1 then it doesn't really matter. I'd probably go Inc. Healing because for T1 it gives you more self sufficiency. But if you run T2 you need to be able to take multiple hits and stay standing. So then I would look for approaching 30k moral, unbuffed (but with moral banner) and not in tanking line. After that I would look at crit. Have you hit the 25% cap (remember in red it goes to 30%, something to consider if you mainly run red)?

I honestly don't have any of the essences, mostly because I had already finished my gear and liked it. But beyond that I have horrible luck with the RNG, so I don't like anything that depends on crit to proc. Really. I once had a guaranteed crit scroll that dropped from a hobbit present. I set up to make 7 will essences for my RK. The crit scrolls only guarantee the first but they are supposed to increase your crit for a short time. Knowing my bad luck I still made 6 journals and put up the crafting scrolls. How many do you think I got crit on? Two. The first one and the last, with an 79% or higher crit chance on 6 and a guaranteed crit on the first. But that is pretty typical for me, so as I said, I stay away from crit proc stuff. It is never there when I need it.

Bad News:

The Essence becomes active only with 10% not with 25%. The Last patch changed it also in the textbox.
In addition no Healing Crits can activate it.
And the Essence get not a reset by new crits. It becomes usable again after it finished regulary.


I chose the Incoming Heal Rating as the 4th on this Set.
But if you start, you advance mostly....
