I've been running around the beautiful landscape of North Ithilien a while now, and it seems the flower patches are quite rare. Will the patches change from time to time, like across the landscape, or will it stay the same? I can imagine a wild egg scramble over the few patches when it goes live if they don't rotate patches....

Please make them usable while mounted as well.
Also, is there a reason why the barter items are player-bound as opposed to account-bound? Just asking. May be legitimate, but it's not like it's questing content, so I don't think it should be gated per character.

Very annoying. And this is supposed to be the end-game grind now? There needs to be more patches of flowers than there currently are, or we're going to set off another war in North Ithilien that could easily divert Sauron to attack Minas Tirith again...
yea, the flowers should be spawned everywhere throughout north ithilien.
not just 20 flowers in some corners like its now.
if the flowerspawns in beta go live, it will be no fun as there will be players 'fighting' for flowers while in 90% of the map there will be no one.
Another player ninja'ed he node that you was fighting for? That is so wrong! Certainly need to be more nodes but also some players need to learn common courtesies. I have added people to ignore (with a note of their fault) for engaging on this kind of behavior. :eek:Quote:

either idea would be helpful. personally i like 2/ easy to implement & controls the flow of loot over a period of time, that's a bonus for Turbine
i understand the need for new content & progression of gear for players. in the current form of flower collection, the players are the ones who are going to suffer over Xmas & the new year
I agree 100%. I would very much like LOTRO to return to requiring players dismount for certain activities, especially interacting with NPCs. Players loitering about with their backsides glued to the saddle is extremely immersion-breaking. Are players really so lazy that they can't dismount to interact with NPCs, enter buildings, harvest ore/wood/relics, etc? Please correct it by returning to "the good old days" (a tired, hackneyed phrase, I know, but in this case it's apropos) by helping players rediscover that their characters have feet to walk on.Quote:

Role playing as one, don't justify being one & with that actitude, that person will certainly not make many friends. I really like the idea of flowers working like the ingredient crates. My issue is it makes it hard to quickly go around and collect them because you may target one that you've already gotten, and unless you hover over the item for long enough to see the CD, you won't know you already got it until you get to it, at which point you may be fighting/dismounted.
Ideally, the flowers would spawn as phased items, separate for each player, and once obtained, they would go away for the player that got it. I don't know if they fully have the tech for this, but Hytbold did many things, so they might. Main issue may be the flowers not being NPCs, and they didn't do much phasing with items.
Another solution could be to have a quest that players need to have in their quest log to be able to interact with the patches. They could then use the quest item usage mechanic where each player can interact with each item, even at the same time, and they won't despawn (if they don't despawn, a player also can't farm the same spawn picking the respawned ones); not sure if they have done it where the quest items actually give loot, but I'm sure they could. There could be a Flower Basket quest item, or something similar, that is given to players after completing a qucik intro quest (and can be re-obtained if you need it), from the Herb Traders. You could use the basket to infinitely start/restart the repeatable flower-picking quest. The quest might be to pick like 25 flowers throughout Ithilien, and once you finish that, you could either get a North Ithilien token, or a box that you can open for a better chance at a rare flower, or rep, ixp, or nothing. No cooldown if you finish it, 5m cooldown if you abandon it. The one issue with this is that the flowers would likely all be located at the same place every time, so you could know where to go for certain flowers, but so long as they are spread out well, it shouldn't matter, since you couldn't just farm the rare ones easily (if they're spread out well); you'd need to finish/drop the quest to be able to pick the same resource twice in a row, which would have a cooldown. Ideally, just make each flower drop random items so no one would want to farm any given area.
The quest approach would also have the benefit of not distracting players who don't want to worry about the flowers at the moment. You could just drop the quest if you want to focus on harvesting wood or whatever, and you'd have fewer items to cycle through and item names (if you have them on) to see.
Also, might be nice to have a resource instance for the flowers, which could give maybe North Ithilien silver tokens, and some other stuff. But this may be too much work. I'd like it though, if you stick with the resource node approach, as opposed to a quest item approach.

Bound to account would be nice, other then the add a few more and i'd be happy. I wouldnt like to see them only be lootable only once a day per toon sort of thing as then the grind becomes a lot longer

It's not that hard to imagine, or to implement in the game.
I'd prefer quests to pick them up, where they are only lit while the quest is active. Of course, there would need to be a good number of quests though. But the suggestion of them not despawning is a good one, or this will just be like berry picking at the treasure hunt on a larger area. Frustrating.Quote:
