Knockback

Can someone give some clarification on what skills are triggering Knockback? This output doesn't do any damage. However, I think it assists in your defense. I've always noticed that the better offensively your bear happens to be, the more resilient. I could never pin down why. Perhaps it's this Knockback that seems to be a lot more frequent since the upgrades. I just assumed that is was part of the Execute skill (because on some hits the mob is, literally, pushed back...fel spirits will continuously back up when you fight them). However, the Knockback total in a prolonged fight easily exceeds 10 while the use of Execute was significantly lower. So, something else is triggering it (whatever it is) or multiple skills are triggering it.

I tried searching this out, and couldn't find any real reference.

Previously I would have said it's just Thrash Tier 3 and Claw Swipe, but from your parse maybe Armour Crush is another source of knockback?

I think its on Thrash T3 and Claw Swipe.

I know Claw Swipe (blue-line), Thrash t3 (not sure about t1/t2), and Bash (at least before u23.1.7) all knockback the target occasionally. I think it's a proc chance though, as it doesn't seem to happen every time. Also, I think different skills may possibly have a different proc chance of the knockback. Claw Swipe seems to do it the most in my experience, then Thrash t3, then Bash, but that honestly may just be confirmation bias.

The fun part is when you knockback an enemy while they are in water, they will sometimes slowly glide along the surface for 15-20m. :)

I have a lot of fun playing air hockey with the Darkwaters in Glinghant. :D And Helchgam was also a fairly unique experience as a blue bear.

Now the tough question...what does it do? Benefits? Is this a defensive benefit...in effect, a mob won't be as efficient and effective if you are lucky enough to land "knockbacks"? I guess the answer really isn't that important, because you really don't have any solid control on when it occurs. I'm just curious.

And, yeah, Glinghant :D The annoying thing is tooling around in there solo and you moonwalk a spirit back to another group of them.

I don't think it really has a purpose, at least I haven't ever thought of a situation where it's beneficial. I guess in PvMP maybe? I always just viewed it as a nice bit of flavor added to the class, because a big, hulking bear smacking you in the face a few times will probably send anyone flying back a little bit.
