Quest: Wanted pebbles, quest items availability on 120 resource instances

Just want to share this. Availability of the quest items for quest group 'Wanted pebbles' in 120 resource instances (https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php?tit...Wanted_Pebbles)

Did you know if you click into Mozhek after accepting the quest he tells you what drops in every instance?

Old pitons bug?

Is anyone else having trouble getting old pitons to drop? It seems like since the last update I have not been able to get any, and so cannot complete the quest and get the next one. I submitted a bug, but it could be that the quest is just stuck for me, I guess.

What level are You ??? It seems they will not drop if You are LvL 129 or 130. As then mobs are grey to You and don't give skill deeds either if grey. They have to be within 8 levels of Your characters level.

You can still set the regular instances Thiki-Gundu, Glimmerdeep and Caverns of Thrumfall on LvL 122 if You are LvL 130 (solo or fellowship version doesn't matter I think, I know I get my drops from solo versions alot) and get the drops from random mobs there. However only specific instanes drop specific items.

Glimmerdeep (the real instance)
Grey Mushroom
Old Pitons

Caverns Of Thrumfall
Scrub Moss
Delvers Plaster
Dragons-Stone

Thikil-Gundu (the real instance)
Crafter's Lead
Mineral Salt

I was hopeful that would work, it had not occurred to me to try the skirmish instances. I greatly prefer the resource instances, because as a Burglar in Glimmerdeep in particular it is highly annoying that you are repeatedly subjected to surprise attacks (and also - duh - resources!). I tried Glimmerdeep looking for the old pitons, level 122 as a level 130 character just as you said, and I did not get them. As a random drop, it is always possible that they simply didn't happen to drop, I guess. I will try at least one more time before I give up. Thanks for the idea anyway!

It's an old thread but since the wiki for the quest links to this thread, I wanted to confirm that yes you can set the skirmish versions 8 levels below and get the items to drop.

However- if the quest requires scrub-moss it is currently impossible for a high-level character to complete, because scrub-moss only drops in the resource instance The Withered Heath. There is no level-adjustable skirmish that drops this item, so high-level players will have to wait for a day when scrub-moss isn't required.
