Bothketbog- There's no need to upgrade the version of Crossover being used if playing on an Intel-based Mac and things were working well before this weekend.
mbfabulian- Crossover does cause many antivirus packages to go bonkers. The best solution is to turn off your antivirus before you launch Crossover, you can turn it on after you quit out of Crossover. The next best solution, and the one which I actually think is often the best choice, is to delete the third party antivirus stuff from your Mac because the chance that you actually need it is close to zero. Unless your employer insists on you running a specific anti-badguy package on your personal machine, it most likely isn't and will never do anything useful for you. There are some exceptions, of course, but for most people it's an unnecessary expense and complication. MacOS is not Windows, especially if you keep proper backups the chance that any malware is gunna getcha is very nearly nil.
As for the login issues and other glitches you guys are reporting, that has nothing to do with the fact that you're playing on a Mac or using Crossover. People using Windows boxes, folks from all over the globe are reporting these things this weekend. And most people are not experiencing issues – lots are, most aren't. For whatever it's worth, I am not experiencing these issues: I logged in briefly three times yesterday just for tests, I logged in briefly early this morning to test, and I played for about 2 hours late this morning – no issues at all. So it's something on SSG's end, not yours; good and bad, good because there's nothing to fix on your end, bad because there's nothing to fix on your end so you just have to wait for the SSG staff to come into the office on Monday and do whatever they need to do in order to determine the nature of the problem and repair it.
It is odd that mbfabulian is able to get into the game with his Mojave laptop running the 32-bit client under open-source WINE but not with his Catalina iMac running (I assume) the 64-bit client under Crossover. You two guys might try logging in with the 32-bit client in Crossover although if that works I won't be able to tell you why. And if you do that, remember to switch back to the 64-bit client after SSG does the fix on their end.
