Well, I have 2 more guesses, both of which are shots in the dark.
There is one proper name sung on that album, and that is "Thor" (in No Quarter).
The only other option is that maybe you're speaking of "Death". But I believe s/he goes by another name depending on who you ask, so I suggest that Thor and Thor alone is actually named.

The answer is Strider. He is named in one of Led Zeppelin's songs (I think it has a Welsh place name, which escapes me at the moment). The singer is, of course, Robert Plant.
