Guardians definitely need a huge update/revamp to become viable again. Scaling skills, shield use and fixing BPE will not make a guardian viable. This revamp would actually also make the guardian rotation much harder but also more rewarding if done correctly. Now after those basic changes like bpe fix/shield use rank,
-Blue guardians still need:
- More offensive utility (disorientation buff)
- More sturdiness, (mits/-inc dmg increase) (BPE emergencies include some -inc dmg) (warchant debuff increase) (more morale)
- More defensive utility (fortification raid mits buff) (litanny buff) (shieldwall buff) (a potential new buff that would give -inc dmg around the guardian kinda like cappy aura)
- Break ranks and stoic inc dmg changes should have their implementation changed. (break ranks should be a skill) (stoic inc dmg should last the whole WH or 20s after the WH)
-Yellow guardians still need:
- The entire line changed, literally a whole revamp of it. It's originally supposed to be a debuff tank who also does some dps on the side but it just has an identity crisis and is absolute garbage trash at all of these things (tanking,debuffing,dps). This entire line needs to be changed. Either a whole revamp or an entire buff of everything in it is needed to make it work again.
-Red guardians still need:
- Every single trait buffed (not exaggerating, literally every single trait is either super bad or it costs way too much for the tiny increases you get) Valorous strength, Warrior fortitude and broad strokes are the only well balanced traits in this whole tree.
Is a good summary of what red guards will need. Guardians are still extremely far away from being viable and will need a proper big update to fix them. And even if they get this and they become viable to tank stuff, they will still be outmatched by a captain 90% of the time so yeah rip guards. That's why these BR changes are extremely underwhelming, it's only like 2% of what guardians need as an update and to make it worse: it's not even implemented correctly.
