Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
CHARACTER NAME:
Erulehto - Level 42 Elf Hunter - Currently still an Officer in Flames of the West
+4 Alts to cover EVERY crafting profession (2 Minstrels, a Guardian and a 2nd Hunter to be exact).
AGE:
26 - I'm very lucky because I have a career that allows me PLENTY of time for LOTRO :)
PREFERRED SERVER:
Brandywine
TIME ZONE:
Central Time Zone, USA. It doesn't matter much though, I'm online at all hours of the day!
PLAYSTYLE:
One word to sum up my playstyle: FLEXIBLE. I love grouping and crafting (that's why I have an alt to cover every craft). I will happily join in on PvP. I will definitely RP with those who enjoy it. I most definitely look forward to RAIDING with everyone! I consider myself a casual gamer, but if the situation calls for hardcore, I'm there.
MMO's YOU HAVE PLAYED: This was my first one. I've been here since beta and have found no reason to find another MMO. I will never leave LOTRO as long as LOTRO doesn't leave me!
WHY KINSHIPS SHOULD BE INTERESTED IN ME:
My kinship is VERY important to me. I'm extremely loyal and dedicated to everyone in it. Since I love crafting, I will always be doing my best to craft items for players, always free, we're all family and it's important to me that I always try to help them out. I don't consider that a favor, I consider it the right thing to do in a family. I'm the guy on Kinship chat that will immediately help out anyone who needs help (whether it's a quest, instance I've already done, or perhaps just a question). Speaking of Kinship chat, I consider having a close in-game relationship with my kinsmen an utmost priority. I'm that guy everyone likes in real life. I'm a total giver at heart, so I always do what's best for the kinship and make it a point to help lower level players. I'm 26 years old and I'm very mature, I will always represent the kinship in a way that brings honor to the name. Like I said earlier, I've been an officer in Flames of the West since the opening of the game, but sadly the kinship has all but died and I need a new home.
WHAT KIND OF KINSHIP ARE YOU LOOKING FOR:
The most important things are that there are plenty of ACTIVE players who you know aren't going to quit in the near future. Preferably, I'm looking for a larger kinship with as many experienced players as possible, but it's ok if there aren't many, I enjoy helping out newer players tremendously! I prefer a kinship that has reached level 7 or so at least, but it's not required either. I just gravitate toward the more established kinships because of what happened to my current kinship (it was thriving until a sad major event happened, and it started to wither away faster than the elves leaving Middle Earth!) I'm really just looking to have a good time in the game with a bunch of people looking to have as much fun as me!
I'm really going to be looking hard over the next couple of weeks for a good home and look forward to meeting some new friends :)

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): I am Skalde, born in Dale, but Explorer in and Guardian of Breelands and the Shire (c. 19th lvl) (Lee in R/L)
Age: Skalde is 19 (R/L Lee is 55)
Preferred server: Brandywine
Location: I end most adventures resting in the Prancing Pony in Bree (R/L USA/Delaware EST)
Playstyle: Presently mostly solo, some fellowships for short sorjourns, learning the crafting thing in addition to thrilling to the hunt and visiting Middle Earth sites. (R/L I am struggling to get my software to accept the headset/mike. I can hear, but can't be heard - hopefully this will be resolved by weeks end as I am here to roleplay/adventure - 30 years tabletop and live-action experience as of October this year). I can be as casual or as driven as the need of those around me dictates (but not interested in pvp).
MMO games you’ve played: Of what is this you speak? MMO - 'tis some secret code of the Shadow that grows? (R/L - Evercrack)
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: 1) I'm a great team player - love to support those who are working their way up, not a treasure or glory hog, even as a leader I make it a point to be sure all have something to do, are involved and having fun. 2) I encourage roleplay for those who want to but lack experience (besides 30 years of rpg experience - GMing mostly - I have 40 years of theatrical experience including directing, teaching, coaching and performing...this gives me a lot of insight into how to help folk step out of themselves and after all, in many cases isn't that why we're here - to be someone/somewhere else?) thru in-character dialog - not demanding it of others but offering or 'starting us off' as it were. 3) I know Tolkien (was owner/manager/sales for local game store built around Tolkien games and holidays; originate and have been participating in an annual Bilbo's Birthday Party since 1979) and have run rpgs in Middle Earth, done readings, written some fan fic, etc. 4) As much as I love to have fun, I've chose LOTR because I want to be part of Middle Earth... I would like to build a Kinship someday called the Star of Earendil for those who champion (not that class only) the causes of the downtrodden or the freepeoples of Middle Earth who find themselves 'in dark places' to be a light 'when all other lights go out' - the light of hope. I would like to work together to form Tolkien or Tolkien-esque oaths to swear to one another, kinship songs adapted from the Canon, perhaps even find a way for us all to decorate our favorite cloak or shield with a common kinship symbolage. 5) I love to laugh at danger, cheer in victory, console in defeat, and share in the comraderie that leads even to mourning fallen fellows.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): Please see question above.
I can be reached thru the forum or personally contacted thru leemcco@yahoo.com.
'til then, May the Force... no, I mean... may you revel in the sunlight on your face, a good cause to rally round, room to use your weapon(s), and the chance to 'bend your elbow' in celebration of victory against the minions of Evil!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Are there that few kinships in need of dedicated players? It seems to me that none of the established kinships even look at this section of the forum. I could be wrong...
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: Clodor in game.
Location: US Central
Playstyle: None yet, just started.
MMO games you’ve played: Runescape and Star Wars Galaxies. I only got into runescape though.
Why kinships should be interested in you? I have experience running clans.
What kind of kinship you are looking for? One that is very active and help new players (like me) get started.
Btw, MMO is short for Massive Multiplayer Online.

Sadly this section has gotten kinda lost in the crowd I think.
Turbine moved the Kinships forum down to the bottom of the list of forum sections AND people forget to look at the Looking for Kinship sticky and just look for actual posts (I know I usually do).
For the most part if you play on a particular server you are better off going to your Server section and looking at the Kinships area there. Usually the Kins keep a better eye on that area.
Of course if anyone here is an Adult, wants to play on Meneldor, likes to help people and has a fairly laid back play style then My kin might be the one for you. ;)
Is it too much to ask that people be able to click on a link? :p

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Don't have a character yet, planning on elf Guardian to start.
Age: 27
Preferred server(s), if any: No preference, I haven't picked a server yet.
Location. : USA, Mountain time zone
Playstyle. casual, group, solo, PvE, raids
MMO games you’ve played: FFXI, DDO, LotRO beta
Why kinships should be interested in you: I'm new, but I'm willing to learn. Show me my mistakes and I will do my best to correct them. I'm also a team player. I like to earn my keep and not feel like I'm just tagging along.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: For the most part I am a casual player. My interests are in solo/group and PvE play. I would like to participate in raids once I get that far, however I am not interested in hardcore groups that have an attendance policy more strict than my real life job. For the most part a mature, friendly, help each other out type of kin.
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
I'm not sure if I'm looking for a Kinship, I'm not sure I know what a Kinship is! I'm just looking for people to play with me. The game is so much more fun with friends! I currently am playing solo and am at a level ten. I've never played a game like this before, so be gentle!
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Phoenixfire, Elf, Lore-master,
Age: 33
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): I'm on Windfola
Location: Seattle, WA
Playstyle. Solo so far!
MMO games you’ve played: NA
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: Because you are new to, or a lower level and want someone to play with??
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): A fun one!!!
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
I'm looking to move servers from Windfola to somewhere busier - my choices, in order, are:
landroval
brandywine
arkenstone
Suggestions?
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Alathorn-Captain
Age: 26
Preferred server(s), if any: Silverlode
Location: PA EST
Playstyle: I'm pretty new but I'm usually Solo some quests I'll look for a group and I help when I'm available
MMO games you’ve played: This is pretty much it
Why kinships should be interested in you: Short and sweet-I'm mature, I play solo most of the time and if someone asks for help and i'm nearby, I help.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: One with options of Solo or group play, where members will help each other when they can and one that does not pressure you to do anything.
*I don't get into those where I have to pay any kind of money because of sites or membership fees!
**In game donations are cool if you want a kinship house.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hi, I'm looking for a kinship to enhance the social aspect of the game, meet friends and participate in multi-player events.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Sundariel, an Elf Hunter. Currently level 21.
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
18, in university.
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
Landroval
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
GMT Time, Cambridge, UK right now. Work hours are very flexible though, so available most hours.
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Casual, like to craft. Serious playing is limited to summer, once term time starts (mid october) I'll be much less available. Probably resume in holidays.
MMO games you’ve played:
This is the first 'real' MMO. Runescape doesn't count.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
I'm an extra body to help out, extra source of loot and potentially a high level crafter happy to help.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
Something casual enough, that doesn't place too many demands on their members. Sufficient size so as to always have people to play with, friendly with a good support network.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: Brett Beeman
Age: 19
Location:Florida, USA, EST timezone
Playstyle:Newbie. Right now I'm just exploring the world and getting a feel for things, looking into PvMP
MMO games you’ve played: none
Why kinships should be interested in you?: I am a very social player, and group as much as possible. I am always up for grouping and make a great team player.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: Casual
See my other post for more information. I made it before I saw this (note to self: read stickies).
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Larry, Main Character is Shadowbryte, Level 22 Champion, Human.
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
Let's just say that I am older than your average player, in fact I was born before LOTR was published.
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
landroval, that is where my current character resides and I would like to continue playing him.
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
Eastern
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Mostly solo but I would like to play more with groups, providing I could find the right one. I like to read the story line and take my time, instead of just running through an area and killing everything in sight.
MMO games you’ve played:
I am rather new to MMORPG's but I have tried out most of the well known games, WOW, EQ2, EVE, and D&DOL. All seem to have advantages and faults, but I feel the LOTR is the best for my style of play.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
Maturity, OK, I'm just old and sometimes I wake up early and play in just my underwear.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
A mature group, this does not mean age, it is attitude.
No required participation or playing times. While I do want to play with a group more I want to do it on my own terms, I don't want to be required to go on a certain raid or play at a certain time. I am a student, I work full time, and have a family, so I need to play on my schedule and not the kinships.
Light roll playing.
Newbie friendly. Like I said I am still fairly new to MMORPG's
Casual Atmosphere. I still want to play the game at my own pace and don't want to feel I am being pressured into playing at someone else's.
Sense of Humor - It is a game after all, so don't take things to seriously. I looked at one kinship that required you to take a test about LOTR to join. While I have read the books, I have killed a lot of brain cells since then and my memory is not what it used to be. So if someone is going to be upset because I can't remember the name of a certain character or location I don't really need the hassle.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hello fellow LotRO players!
The "what" and the "who"
I am looking to join a kinship, on the Firefoot server. I have been playing for a couple of months, have a lifetime subscription, and am planning on being here for a very long time. I am looking for a group of people that I can quest/raid with, that are consistently active, are friendly, mature, drama-free, with a good sense of humor. I want to be a part of something that gives me a feeling of "being a part of something", not just being in a kin for the sake of being in a kin. I like a kin that is laid back in it's daily interactions, but assume a military-esq formation when doing raids. People that are willing to assume their roles and the application of their skills where the need be, when they need be. I believe in fun above all else, but with a structured game-plan (when applicable). More basically, I want to be able to log-in and see several people that I know, and play with also online. If you see me out in the world, say, "Hi". If ya log-in and see me online, say, "Hi".I prefer PvE. I like to solo, but also fellow and raid. I love crafting. I am a mix of casual and hardcore (depending on what's going on in-game and RL). I typically do not RP. I typically do not PvP.
Who I am In-game
Currently my main is a level 48 [Woman] Lore-master, named Botemedel Bedrövelse. I also have a couple of alts: 17 [Hobbit] Hunter (Remgar), 12 [Dwarf] Guardian (Krimbli), 11 [Man] Minstrel (Bolomir), and bank. I am hoping to get Bote to 50 asap. She is an Explorer by trade, and will most likely be my alt farmer. I will utilize her abilities to their extent in raids, helping others, etc., as needed. I am a "healer" by personality. Unfortunately, I did not read fully into the Minstrel class when choosing my first character, or else I would've went in that direction. I am not atm too overly concerned with the lore of the game. I know that sounds odd coming from a Lore-master, hehe. But, once I have a couple 50s under me, I hope to go back through and spend time learning the lore of the game. I have seen all the movies, and have been a fan of Tolkien since childhood. So, I am not without some knowledge of the lore.
Who I am Out-of-game
My name is Bob. I am 34 years old. My wife and I have been together for 13 yrs. (married for 9). We have 4 kids. We live in Minnesota, so my timezone is CMT. I work from home, so have unlimited play time. I started my MMO "career" back in '97 with Ultima Online. I played that for a about 3 yrs. Once it became too laggy for me to continue with, I moved on to a new game that was taking "everyone" from UO. That game was World Of Warcraft. WoW was a godsend from the linear 2D of UO. After 2 1/2 yrs though, I just couldn't do it any more. I took a short stint from MMOs until a friend of mine called me up, and told me he was getting this new game and was buying me the game as well. Alas, we both cancelled our newly acquired Age of Conan accounts after the first month. We had been playing together in all the aforementioned games, and went shopping for our next "new" game. He tried GW, PotBS. I tried CoH, EvE. Not what we were looking for. I stumbled across LotRO while checking mmorpg.com, and was intrigued. I went straight for the full purchase, as it was only $10! After a couple of weeks I upgraded to the lifetime. My friend has since then also joined me here, and lovin' it as much as I am.
What I can offer...
I have leadership experience and qualities. I have held positions of such in other games, as well as RL. I am a mature player, with a sense of humor, so I can have fun w/o being uptight too. Although I have only been playing LotRO for a couple of months, I am a quick learner. If I can't answer something in-game immediately, I at least know several internet sites that can. I am willing to stop what I am doing (if it is not extremely important atm) to help others, be they new or veteran. I help others any way possible when/if I am able.
If you are interested in recruiting me, or wish to know more, please contact me in-game or at spr808@msn.com . Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name - Eldinan, Human Ranger
Age 19
server - ArkenStone
Location - IL
right now i am only level 18. i picked up the game, but quite playing it because i couldent find a group of people to play with. i am starting it back up now because i love the LOTR story
i am a casual player, i do like to go solo every once and a while. but 90% of the time, i love having a few people with me. for the sake of chatting on the headset if nothing else.
i am a right wing conservitive... i love to debate politics. dont konw how imporntat that is, just thought i should throw it out there to avoid things later on.
i am a heavy machine opperater for CAT on their 3rd shift... needless to say, i keep kind of odd hours.
i have played guild wars and WoW. i have a ranger in GW, and a hunter in WoW... i am more then used to playing the role of sit back and shoot.
i am only level 18, so i am not really opposed to starting a new player on another server.
i will roll a ranger no matter what server i go on... i will probely have a loremaster and or warden for a secondary toon.
i am looking for a semi structured kinship of people who are fun to talk to, play with, are half way reliable when it comes to grouping, and dont ignor their lower level members.
also, i am a huge fan of table top wargaming... Warhammer 40,000 is one of my favorite. it would be GREAT to join a kin that has a few people who play it.
P.S. in case this post wasent enough.... i cant spell worth a squirles fart

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Note: (AM) Morning Gamer. I normally Log-On at around 7AM (EST) and play day hours (Normally 7am-2pm), rarely weekday evenings/nights. Looking for similar morning players or just a good Kinship base =). I work nights (11pm-7am).
Name: Timmy (RL, player name I choose at creation)
Age: 38
Preferred server: None, will reroll and cap.
Location: USA, East Coast (Morning heavy player)
Playstyle: All of them =). I prefer raiding, but can live with just casual play. Whatever is going on, I am your Huckleberry.
MMO games you’ve played: Been MMOing everyday since 1991 (MUDS). EQ, AC's, AO, SWG, Planetside.., Horizons,WoW, currently split on Hellgate/WAR. Now a second try at LOTRO (JRR fan since 1979).
What I offer?: I am a good boy =). Good raid exp, easy to talk to and direct, I do my homework, enjoy MMO's in general.
What kind of kinship you are looking for?: Raiding, PvMP, casual...whatever I can manage to fit into. I am not good at RP, so probably not a good canidate for that, but I respect it.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hey there, I'm looking for a kinship in Landroval where I can find people to freestyle with on the music system. Doesn't have to be a music kinship, just one with a few keyboardists who like to jam. I've got a new MIDI controller and I'm not too shabby with it.
Character: Ulweard, lvl 25 human minstrel
My age: 24
Time online: When I'm on, it's usually around 11:30 PM -2:00 AM Pacific time (that's 7:30 - 10:00 GMT) but I'm sometimes on in the hours before that.
Playstyle: I like both solo and group stuff. I'd like to get more into the crafting system. I can do RP if I have to, but preferably the kind where you just speak as your character instead of writing out whole paragraphs in /emote from the POV of an omniscient narrator.
I'm a pretty casual player, I'm on around twice or three times a week and I don't like the idea of needing to be on the server regularly at a particular day and time.

Name: Devak lvl 21 champion

I would be an active member not only in game play but also in Kin activities, would love to be apart of an organized kin with rank structure able to form activities and help other members

im a lvl 22 hunter on Arkenstone. Im just looking for a kin with people who are actually online and willing to help a "noob" like me. :D

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Character Name is Bitman, Man
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
My age is 28
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
I currently am using Brandywine
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
I reside in the midwest Eastern time zone
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
I am still finding my playstyle. I have found so far that I prefere quests and storylines oover PvP. I am ok solo but have more fun working with 1-3 other people. Would be considered a causual gamer. I have work and school, and the nature of my job has me working various times and amounts so I would need a Kin that is flexable. I am not quite sure how to Rp in this type of setting comming from a table-top and minature gaming background.
MMO games you’ve played:
SWG (briefly) Liked the orignal concpts of character advancement, but do to lack of being able to play consistantly and the changing of the format I stopped playing
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. see below
What do you offer kinships?:
I am smart and good at following orders or giving them if need be. I belive in TEAMWORK, And helping those who help you. While new to the game and MMOs in general I am a quick learner. The most important thing is I want to have FUN.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
I am looking for a Kinship that is adult minded, meaning that juvenile antics are minimal. I am for the most part laid back and just want to have fun and explore the world in which is provided in the game. I am also looking for a kin that looks out for one another, and has each others back. I have found these games to be hard enough as it is on one's own, let alone trying to deal with out of game BS. I have a table-top Rp background I can fit into an Rp Kinship given time. But I want to make something known up front. I have a job, school, and girlfriend. These are the most important things in my life. This game is not my main priority. While I understand that these game requie a certain level of dedication in order to be succesful, I am my real life will take precedence. I know that this may seem like a strange statment but I have been invovled in gaming groups (non MMOs) that expect the game to take precedence and I cannot do that. I hope whoever reads this sees something that is worthwhile to their Kinship and I look forward to hearing from them.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Ullu, Men (Champion, lvl 38)
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits) 28
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): Gladden
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): US EST
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): Majorly solo, group/fellowship if and when needed
MMO games you’ve played: WoW, LOTRO (Shadows of Angmar)
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: Honestly, I dont kw what else I can offer, other than my IN-GAME assistance if and when needed.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): Friendly ofcourse, and NOT compelling or dictating to be part of certain quest/fellowship.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Soon to be Kinless Elven Loremaster seeks new home.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Alurane, Elf, 60 Loremaster. Explorer profession.
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
I don't really want to advertise the fact that I'm 38.
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
Currently residing on Vilya. I would consider a one off transfer for a good and active Kin.
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
GMT +10/+11. East coast of Australia.
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Solo by necessity (only active kin member and a shy nature).
Semi-casual. Scarce during uni semesters, but frequently online during the holidays.
I would like to see the fellowship and raid content, just don't call it "end-game" - that would conjure up images of endless gear-grinding, "guild" dramas and loot-obsessed players.
Almost exclusively PvE. I've only PvP'd a couple of times as a Creep and never as a Freep.
Non-RP (I'm just not creative enough for RP).
MMO games you’ve played:
Guild Wars
EVE Online
LotRO - of course.
I deny any and all accusations that I played WoW for 12 months between playing Guild Wars and EVE.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
I'm friendly (but shy). I don't mind helping my fellow kin members when they need help. In fellowships and on raids I can follow instructions and work as part of a team.
I believe I'm a competent player.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
I'd like to join a friendly, mature, active and non-hardcore kinship that is preferably in an Oceanic timezone. Having regular instance runs and the occasional raid would be an added bonus.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name:Ferindil, on Nimrodel.
Location: EST (-5:00?), USA.
Playstyle: I try to play casually, and I try to play in moderation. I will try to keep my crafting up, so I can make weapons for others (I am an armsman vocation).
MMO games you’ve played: Warhammer Online (WAR), WoW (currently subscribed to both WAR and WoW), CoH, FFXI (a terrible game in my opinion), Planetside, and SWG.
Why kinships should be interested in you: I am highly sociable, and do like to have fun. I act like an adult, and do not try to anger anyone.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: One that will help me level, along with have events and socialize.
