I have been able to slip up there by the 2 trolls and fight him near the box so the trolls wont aggro. Did it solo on both minstrel and guardian.

QUEST: Angmarim Sorcery

REASONS: The (signature) Sorcerer you have to kill has a signature companion, the Gauradan Pack-Leader. Not only that, but the sorcerer also applies a buff to himself and to the pack-leader that increases both mob's attack speed by 25%. This is certainly NOT solo.
I solo'd this with a minstrel, but I was lvl 49. I sneaked up to the dwarf and engaged him by the chest. The troll did come toward us, but I maneuvered behind a rock so that it didn't see me. I may have been in trouble if it had aggro'd. Sometimes you have to use the terrain to your advantage. I did the same thing with that quest where you kill Jakka (I think that's his name) in SE Misty Mountains. I stayed behind trees or rocks to pull mobs to me. I also stayed on the edge of slopes or ledges so as to avoid unwanted aggro. The Jakka quest was very difficult and I ended up filing a bug report and suggested that it be a small fellowship quest, but I was able to solo it.
Regarding The Wayward Bull, I submitted a bug report for it this morning. I failed it 4 or 5 times before finally canceling it. That damn deer doesn't always stop when it triggers Peikkos to spawn. Sometimes it keeps going and spawns a second set of Peikkos to spawn, which results in having 4 at once on you. It's certainly not solo friendly.
This quest is definitely NOT solo. I tried it twice solo and failed (I'm a 47 burg), then recruited the help of a 50 champion and we both died when 5 peikkos swarmed over the bull. We tried again and didn't succeed. Only after calling a 50 guardian we managed to do it.
I didn't have any problems with the blinding snow though.

Yeah no, a sig mob and three adds is not a solo quest. Just tried this on my 47 Hunter and even popped my man heal after taking down the three adds; I ran out of power after getting the sig down to 1/4 of his health and he then killed me. This makes it all the disheartening because this is for Nikko, which you need to earn his trust if you want the next slew of quests. Get rid of the ridiculous amount of adds or something.
QUEST: Falling standards
CATEGORY: Forochel
JOURNAL LEVEL: 48

ACTUAL ICON: Small fellowship
There are 4 angmarim guarding the standard, burglars and minstrels and other weak classes cannot handle that many at once (I don't really know if champions and guardians can, either).
EDIT: I didn't know the standard was instant-get, I thought it had an annoying action bar to it. It's just a matter of get near, get flag, get out =P
Just because you failed doesn't mean it needs adjustment. You got pretty close, wouldn't you want to try it again? perhaps another tactic? Just because one needs to use their 'man heal' also does not mean a quest needs adjustment.
Like I said, you got close to succeeding. So try again before you go crying how 'disheartening' it is not to beat a quest the first time.
Thanks and quit trying to tone the game to your level skill and easy expectations.
This quest gets my vote for the Most Disproportional Quest in the game. Yes, there are some other toughies that seemed outlandish for the required level or group (the original Retake Weathertop and one or two others come to mind). But c'mon - who at level 6 has any skills to deal with 3 opponents, let alone 4, one or two who have some special abilities. I actually kind of like it in the sense that it is so impossible as it is labeled, it's iconic. The only thing that would make this quest better (interms of being disproportionate) is if Bargarch wandered through the group from time to time. :D
QUEST: Claiming the Jewel
CATEGORY: Forochel (Ironspan)
JOURNAL LEVEL: 49
JOURNAL ICON: Solo
ACTUAL LEVEL: 49
ACTUAL ICON: Small Fellowship
REASONS: Dunno about most other classes but as a Captain I couldnt get to the second "gate" by myself. The Ironspan inflicts a few points of Dread, there's a group of 2 or 3 to the left just inside that first gate, plus a couple more to the right and one or two archers on the battlement. For most classes, I'm sure it would take at least one other person to complete this quest just because of the number of Angmarim within fairly close aggro range.
Happened upon a minstrel and it was still a slight challenge, but having that one extra body made the difference.
A Burglar MIGHT be able to solo it by sneaking up to the guy, but I think almost every other class would be hard pressed to do this without at least one other fellow.
QUEST: Tomb of Elendil
CATEGORY: Fellowship
JOURNAL LEVEL: 40
JOURNAL ICON: Fellowship
ACTUAL LEVEL: 45
ACTUAL ICON: Fellowship..or more
REASONS: The dungeon itself includes lots of lvl 40 mobs and elites in multiple pulls, even elite masters. This is hard, but doable. The end boss requires some kind of strategy and maybe perfect group make-up and skill that few players posess at lvl 40. He is silly hard for a lvl 40 quest with some crazy armor buff that he hardly takes damage, and mini turtles that continously spawn, not to mention he knocksback and does AOE dmg. This is by far the most whacked out quest i've seen. Fix the rewards too plz cuz they are fairly ****, especially considering this is like a 10-12 part quest chain and the final part is stupid hard. Thanks.
Wasn't there a separate thread for this? Kinda went bye-bye for some reason.
There's 2 adds behind the sig. The 3rd add probably because you didn't "clean" the area before taking him on. You can even use the roamer (your 3rd add) with some luck; pull him while he's in range of the sig, and you'll pull the sig without his two adds so you have sig and 1 add only.
Here's me at L44 taking him down; I didn't even try taking All of them on. I cleaned up, pulled him and ran away. Turned right after the adds returned (they're about 2 - 3 meters behind in spawn point) and sig and I went toe-toe.

QUEST: Book 9, Chapter 1
CATEGORY: Epic
JOURNAL LEVEL: 50
JOURNAL ICON: Solo
ACTUAL LEVEL: 50
ACTUAL ICON: Fellowship
REASONS: Any quest that sends you into an area with multiple level 50+ Elites and Elite Masters is not 'soloable' by any strech of the imagination. Well, unless you're a burglar, of course; unfortunately, I'm a champion. I tried everything I could think of and combed all over the general area for some entrance that I could actually run through without being killed in five or six seconds... no luck.
I'm not complaining about the difficulty. I just wish the icon made it clear what I was in for when I accepted the quest. It would have saved me a lot of time, frustration, and about 400 silver in repair bills.
Actually you don't have to go into the area with the EM mobs. The tower you need is right on the boundary between the solo side of the Nan and the non-solo side. So as long as you're careful you'll only have to deal with Signatures. There are two Elite trolls near the tower entrance, but you can walk by them without aggroing them, and if you do pull them then just talk to the NPC and enter the instance without fighting.
Though it obviously help if you know where you're going, since then you don't wander into the EM area looking for the right tower ;)
Indeed, 9.1 is soloable. It's all a matter of using the right entrance (which I wasn't). If anyone else has had trouble:
From the campfire to the south of BG, head up towards your destination but continually hug to the east (or right) as much as you can. There's a path that leads to a side-entrance to BG, on the right side. You can simply walk up to the NPC without actually encountering a single EM.
QUEST: The Masters of the Mammoth
CATEGORY: Misty Mountains
JOURNAL LEVEL: 43
JOURNAL ICON: Fellowship
ACTUAL LEVEL: 43
ACTUAL ICON: Small fellowship (maybe even solo)
REASONS: I was able to fairly easily solo same level mammoths on my captain. A full fellowship is overkill. Now it may be that the quest says they hang out in the area where giants walk. The giants can easily be brought down by 2 people. Also, the Tusk-rings drop of any mammoths in MM, not just the ones in the giant area.
This has been put in here multiple time, but just thought I'd add it again :/
QUEST: Bounty: Andy Idden
CATEGORY: Normal Evendim quest ("Bounty" line)
JOURNAL LEVEL: 35
JOURNAL ICON: Solo
ACTUAL LEVEL: 35 Small Fellowship -or- 36 Solo
REASONS:
Andy is a level 36 Signature, with a level 35 dog, with a level 34 Goblin. That should be reason enough right there.
The only class who might be able to solo this at 35 is a Lore Master (probably). Andy and his dog, doable by most at 35, add in the goblin... no way.
Andy hits like a tank, the goblin knockdown-stuns, and both him and the goblin run at low health, possibly (probably) pulling even more mobs into the fight.
i find this quest fairly easy to solo, did it about a week ago with an 18 captain. Had to dismiss the herald to maneuver properly, but with most of em you can hide behind a tent and use the barrel from there, avoiding aggro, or only have to take out about 2 goblins.
i cant remember the levels of the people who were in my group, but i had a surprisingly easy time w/ this quest. i was lvl 36 at the time, a min, and our group had 3 mins, 1 guard, cant remember the other classes... to long ago. I thought it was actually way too easy... (never even saw these supposed wargs)
Thief-taker's Bane was toned down in an update based on the conversation in this thread and elsewhere. I'm assuming the post you quoted came from before it got toned down, and you probably played it after the change.
I just did it for the first time a couple weeks ago, at level 43 with a group of mostly 50s and wondered why it was so easy. Then I remembered it had been toned down (plus, you know, lots of 50s in the group).
This one has been mentioned a couple of times. I just did this yesterday as a 48 guard without any problems. I pulled the Sorcerer and the Pack-Leader next to him didn't aggro. Perhaps that's a bug, but it was very easy to kill just him. There were only a couple of single Gauradan pulls before him so it was a snap to solo.
I tried (and succeeded) by doing the same thing after failing (and dying) multiple times. You need to clean out the path to the signature, pull, then run back far enough that the two adds return and the signature remains. There's a tree at this location. He's not so bad when you get him alone like this.Quote:

However, I don't think that was the intent of the quest designer, so this should be labeled as proposed above. No quest should require a "trick" pull to complete unless you're way under level or doing a fellow quest solo.

This quest may be possible if you are a class that can heal
but if not you havnt a hope.
Violet aggros ever mob in sight, and whilst the Mobs are L10
you have to fight up to 4 at once.
Violet has so little health that she dies every time.
I tried it as a L15 Burg, and whilst I can survive, I cant keep her alive as well.
