I know your pain..... Now your on 101!
Nice guess HoM:)
I completely agree
You're correct! The Endless Stair is the answer. I have to admit, I was tempted to not tell you if you were right just so you wouldn't be able to sleep... ;)
YAY!
Anyway, I am not much for making these up so again I pass the honor of next riddle to someone more capable :)
Giver of life
But slayer of the same
Devourer of villages
Fear of many
Yet held in the hand
What am I?
I know it doesn't rhyme, but I like it.
Oh, and it's both in real-life and in Lotr.
a candle or a match?
Here's one that shouldn't be too hard:
From the heart of the mountain I was born.
Into the mountain I was returned.
Desire I inspired;
peace I purchased.
For me Durin's offspring yearned.
SL
Arkenstone! That's my server AND the answer to your riddle!
But no, it's not a candle, but that's a good guess.
While I ponder Silverlocket's riddle, and while I RE-ponder 1ringer's, here's two more I whipped up today :)
I have followers in every land
Yet I neither rule nor teach
I can sit completely motionless
And still great distances reach
I am keeper of a legend grand
But no loremaster am I
I am a holder of a key
That will no lock untie
I’m often wise beyond my years
Though I’ve studied not, nor learned
I’ve never walked upon a road
Yet all paths and corners turned
WHAT AM I?
______________________________ __________
A wondrous world and many lives
In tiny man-made house survives
With journeys long and heroes strong
A vast and vibrant people thrives
A wise and learned man of old
Discovered it and of it told.
Its lands and seas, and histories
And now through us, it still unfolds
Elvyen, for your second one I'd have to say Middle Earth. I haven't read your first one yet, I'll do that now.
your first one is tricky, I'll keep pondering it. is it lotr related? And because it says "WHAT AM I?" at the end, that means I'm looking for a thing and not a person, right?
your close on the 2nd one, but not exactly. Thnk about the last line:)
I'm going to guess a shadow on the first one, then back to guessing on the second one.
perhaps the book "The Lord of the Rings" for the second one?
could the answer to the1ringer's riddle be a sword?
Thank you for all the comments! I will work on another riddle very shortly.
The stuffed head was reffered to Azog beheading the Dwarf Lord infront of the gates of Moria. And the although Dain was the one who slew azog, Thorin Oakenshield was there as well. Since "Oak" ryhmed, I naturally put it there =)
No, sword is not the answer to my riddle, I don't see how that fits "Giver of Life"
Is Lotro the answer to your second riddle, Elvyen?
I haven't a clue about the first one.......
your RIGHT about the 2nd one hehe;) LOTRO it is! "and NOW through US it STILL unfolds"
Keep thinking about the 1st one:) Yes it is a thing lastalliance. It is a real life thing and a Middle Earth thing. It's not a shadow. Shadow doesnt fit all the lines. It's a thing that people everywhere follow, and a thing that has a legend and a key! haha im glad i wrote one that couldnt be gotten right away, and I like the riddle too. i think it came out great.
1ringer, I cant believe your riddle's answer isnt a "MATCH", bleh i was so sure haha. I will think on it some more. The boss is out of the office for a while today, so I'll be able to give it some serious thought for a bit without glancing over my shoulder.
Elvyen, is the answer to your riddle a book? Concerning your other riddle, "A wise and learned man of old Discovered it and of it told." doesn't really fit lotro. Tolkien didn't discover lotro or tell of it. That was Turbine. :p I was thinking that Middle-Earth and "The Lord of the Rings" was still unfolding through us with lotro. Silverlocket; Thorin Oakenshield technically wasn't known as Oakenshield until after the battle of Azanulbazar (or however you spell it). I'm done trying to make you guys feel bad now. ;)
Elfboy, good guess on air/wind, but i dont see how they fit all the lines in the riddle.
L.A. good guess with a book. I guess in a very abstract way it fits... but in what sense does a book have a key that wont open any lock? anyways a book isnt what I had in mind. guess again:)
1ringer, Im kicking around about 5 other guesses for yours, but not ready to officially put any of them out on the table yet hehe
Ding Ding Ding! Silverlocket gets the answer:D It's a map!
Lastalliance, BAH! it was poetic license! (point well taken though hehe, the "discovered" line wasn't written very well)
still thinking about 1ringers.
