's Friday, when hobbits take the afternoon off for relaxation and fun. In many cases at the local inn. Or that inn in Bywater, The Green Dragon! So, once again welcome to Green Dragon Friday, hobbits! The doors open at 8PM UK (3PM servertime) as usual.
Also note that next week, Friday July 8th, we'll have another Lone Bards Friday! This is where we look only for solo or duo performances, to allow those lone bards a place to show off their talents.
Please remember to keep your actions and performances in-character and somewhat hobbity lore-relevant. Green Dragon Friday is about roleplaying hobbits in the Shire and having fun acting out your hobbit traits.
Also, please note that Green Dragon Friday is an event for and by hobbits, with dwarven visitors welcome. For lore reasons, we ask that men and elves stay away from the event the two hours it lasts (however, if have quests inside the inn, like the Inn League Run, you should of course come inside and finish those).

's Friday again! The weekly hobbit holiday for relaxing and fun with yer friends and family. And as usual, the Green Dragon in Bywater is open for the locals. The doors open at 8PM UK (3PM servertime) as usual.
An advance warning: Friday in two weeks, September 2nd, we'll be in the Ivy Bush instead for the annual Bards Day Concert.
Visitors to the inn: Be welcome! Please remember to keep your actions and performances in-character and somewhat hobbity lore-relevant. Green Dragon Friday is about roleplaying hobbits in the Shire and having fun acting out your hobbit traits, not having a modern-day social hangout with chats that do not belong in Middle Earth.
If you'd like to take part, please make a hobbit character instead. It is marvellous fun, after all!

Be advised there is no regular Green Dragon Friday on September 2nd. Instead, everyone are invited to the Ivy Bush for the annual Bards Day Concert, where we celebrate the works of Ronald Dwale (J.R.R.Tolkien) with toasts, poetry and songs based on his words.
So, The Ivy Bush from 7:30PM UK time (2:30PM servertime). Welcome all!

Ol' Flourdumpling is still busy stuffing his face over in Bywater, and there are lots of visitors there stepping on the local hobbits. So naturally, the weekly hobbit inn night will move from the Green Dragon this Friday! To The Floating Log!
Date: Friday September 9th
Time: 8PM UK time (3PM servertime)
Location: Floating Log Inn, Frogmorton
Have no fear, master Ponto Hopsbloom is more than happy to welcome hobbits to the Floating Log in Frogmorton. He'll greet yer all warmly, although hopefully not with warm ale, and better not with the most "hoppy" of the local ales...
Usual Green Dragon Guidelines apply, which means this is an event by and for hobbits. The odd visiting dwarf is always welcome, though! Should yer have any entertainment (songs, stories, riddles, poems or the likes), please bring it along!
Hopefully, we'll be back at the Dragon as usual again next week, Friday the 16th. Yay!

Speaking of Friday, 's today! So the Emerald Newt... er... Green Dragon is open again as usual, from 8PM UK (3PM servertime) onwards. Welcome hobbits, let's have us a grand and lovely start to the weekend.

This coming Friday, November 25, will be a Lone Bards Night at the Green Dragon! Doors open at 8PM UK (3PM servertime) as usual! Welcome hobbits and visiting dwarves!
What is Lone Bards Friday? First of all, this is for all practical purposes Green Dragon Friday, where hobbit roleplayers on Laurelin can meet up to relax and enjoy themselves after a long week. Lone Bards Night is essentially “Green Dragon Friday unplugged", where we won’t allow bands to play. Instead, we ask only for solo or duo-based entertainment:
• Music (solo or duo)
• Poems
• Short stories
• Riddles or rhymes
• Short duo plays
• Or similar. Please be creative!
To allow for as many performances as possible, please do not plan with too much time (max 10-minute entertainment slots). Short and sweet is good!
In particular, we encourage new hobbit entertainers to come perform! While there are many veterans around whose performances are always welcome, at the Green Dragon we have a particular fondness for first-time (and even second- or third-time) performers, so please don’t be shy!
To sign up, just show up at the Green Dragon on Friday and send a /tell to the host and say what you would like to do.
Welcome hobbits!
As always, please note that Green Dragon Friday is an event for and by hobbits, with dwarven visitors welcome. For lore reasons, we ask that men and elves stay away from the event the two hours it lasts (however, if have quests inside the inn, like the Inn League Run, you should of course come inside and finish those).

Friday again! Although many hobbits may feel busy with their yule preparations, it is good to take some time off. So, head to the inn and join the locals for an ale or three, some gossip and some dances. The Green Dragon is open as usual from 8PM UK time (3PM servertime). Be very welcome, hobbits, and bring news and gossip and good cheer with yer!

So come greet the new year and the coming brighter days with us! Bring a tale, a song, a poem, a riddle or something similar, if yer have fireworks that’s grand too (fer use outside), and we will have us a party worth remembering!
OOC details:
Same as the regular Green Dragon Friday, this is a hobbit RP event, with dwarves welcome! As usual, we request that taller characters respect the hobbit-oriented nature of the event, basically by not showing up. Do roll up a hobbit instead, though, it is marvellous fun!
-
Remember, we're in Brockenborings tonight, for the GDF New Years Party at the Plough and Stars. Welcome hobbits!
-

Another Friday, another inn night at the Green Dragon in Bywater! The doors open as usual at 8PM UK (3PM servertime), and the dancing, drinking and gossiping usually winds down a couple hours later. Welcome hobbits!
Tonight we will also launch a new feature at the Dragon, the Green Dragon Lecture series. This is where hobbits can give a quick lecture about a topic close to their heart and of general hobbit interest. If you'd like to sign up, have a look here for more details. Tonight's lecture will be a brief introduction to the hobbit Thains, a little about their history and duties in the Shire.

Friday is getting near, so Barmy is busy restocking ales at the Green Dragon, waiting for the crowds to come drink, dance and gossip the night through. No doubt them visitors will complain about the ale prices again. If only them knew all the hard work an innkeep puts in every night. Does he get thanks? Any supportive words? Naw, nag nag nag is all them visitors ever do. 's enough to make yer weep, it is. Or perhaps he should stock up only turnip juice instead? That'd be a grand joke. Har! But then them customers would just go to the Ivy Bush instead. Oh, the agony...
The doors open as usual Friday at 8PM UK / 3PM servertime. Welcome hobbits, old friends and new aquaintances!
Please note: Green Dragon Friday is a roleplaying event for hobbits. While travelling dwarves are always welcome at the inn, for lore reasons we ask that the Big Folk do not attend. Please roll up a hobbit instead to attend, it is grand fun!

Friday is near, and so Barmy has stocked up on ales for another hobbit inn night at the Green Dragon. He's a bit more wary than usual. After all, there will likely be a lecture on the topic "Concerning Turnips", and who knows how that'll turn out. There were talks of demonstrations as part of the lecture, but Barmy won't rule out that this means the customers will revolt rather than turnip samples being served. Oh well...
8PM UK time (3PM servertime) as usual, hobbits! Be welcome! Entertainers are as always welcome (songs, poetry, tales, riddles, or the likes).
Please note: Green Dragon Friday is a roleplaying event for hobbits. While travelling dwarves are always welcome at the inn, for lore reasons we ask that the Big Folk do not attend. Please roll up a hobbit instead to attend, it is grand fun!

The lecture "Concerning Turnips" is available here:

Also note that this coming Friday, we'll have a Pie Dragon Friday. Pie songs, poetry, stories and, er, perhaps even edibles!

Pie Dragon Friday in Bywater tonight! Pies, pie entertainment, pie bakers. pie eaters... yay!
8PM UK time (3PM servertime) as usual, hobbits! Be welcome! Entertainers are as always encouraged to sign up with the host (with songs, poetry, tales, riddles, or the likes). Tonight, we'd particularly like pie-flavoured entertainment!

Two changes to note for GDF on Friday March 3rd!
1) We'll be at the Plough and Stars in Brockenborings instead of at the Green Dragon, to prepare for the hobbit historical field trip the following days:
https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...trip-March-3-5
2) We'll start earlier than usual, at 7:30PM UK time (2:30PM servertime)
Else, we'll have a grand good time with Halson and his crew, with pork, songs, gossip, tales and good company. We might even roll out the 25-year old Brockenborings Apple Brandy!
Please note: Green Dragon Friday is a roleplaying event for hobbits. While travelling dwarves are always welcome at the inn, for lore reasons we ask that the Big Folk do not attend. Please roll up a hobbit instead to attend, it is grand fun!
-
Back at the Dragon tonight! There should be brand-new story, and perhaps (time permitting) a new lecture too! Besides this, we'll have the usual drinking, dancing and good hobbit cheer. From 8PM UK onwards - be welcome hobbits!
For the future: Be aware that we consider changing the event start time, from 8PM UK to 7:30PM UK. This allows us to a) close a bit earlier for tired hobbits, but b) have some flexibility in case there is lots to do. If the change happens, it will be well announced in advance.
Also note that on Friday 17th, we will be in Brockenborings again to celebrate Bullroarer Took. The 17th we will definitely start early, 7:30PM UK.
Please note: Green Dragon Friday is a roleplaying event for hobbits. While travelling dwarves are always welcome at the inn, for lore reasons we ask that the Big Folk do not attend. Please roll up a hobbit instead to attend, it is grand fun!

It is soon Friday, but not quite yet! So here are some things any good hobbit should know:
1) PERMANENT TIME CHANGE
From now on, Green Dragon Friday will start 30 minutes earlier, from 7:30PM UK (usually 2:30PM servertime). This is done so we can close a bit earlier, but also be less sensitive to time overruns on busy nights.
2) BULLROARER TOOK FRIDAY MARCH 17
Friday March 17 is Bullroarer Took Day, where we celebrate the old hobbit hero from the Battle of the Greenfields! Naturally, we'll celebrate in Brockenborings, near the Bullroarer statue there. So tomorrow, GDF moves to Brockenborings and starts at 7:30PM UK time. Which, due to strange fiddlings with clocks across the huge pond, means 3:30PM servertime this Friday.
Read more about the Bullroarer celebration in the Bramblebury Gazette
Next Friday, March 24, we will be back at the Dragon again. And as announced above, starting from 7:30PM UK time.
-
Hullo! Remember we are in Brockenborings tonight for Bullroarer Took Day! 7:30PM UK (3:30PM servertime onwards) - welcome!
