Is it Haleth, son of Helm Hammerhand?

Baldor son of Brego
Yes, the answer would be Baldor.
Baldor it is, indeed. I figured that one would take longer to guess. Good job.
SL
OK, this one shouldn't be too hard:
From one king I parted his blade;
To another king his sword conveyed.
Death in battle my fate,
I fell at the gate,
Having served one no longer decayed.
SL
The answer would be Hama.
Those were two great riddles, SL! I'll write another riddle and have it up here in a little while. Probably on Thursday or Friday... if I keep putting it off, perhaps Monday or Tuesday. I'll try to come up with at least one by the weekend, though.
Ok, here it is. I decided to just get it done today. Good luck!
I am a scholar of great fame,
I dwell by the white tree,
Without me none could write their own name,
Now think deeply, who might I be?
Did anybody ever get this one? I'm guessing fireworks.Quote:
So many peices,
Making so loud of sound
Hammer-down
Fast as metal
Making thousands of people scream
For so short of time
Yelling, cheering and jumping
It serves it's purpose.
Ok im back. Finally got some time to ponder and do a little research. Where is everyone? No comments in a couple days. Everybody ok? hehe
Ok my answer to L.A's latest riddle : "Daeron", Thingol's loremaster in Doriath:cool:
He came up with the rune system. (I couldnt figure out how the white tree fit in...) anyway thats my guess.
Im still holding to my guess for J.J's riddle, a drum kit haha
Assuming I am correct, here is my latest offering. Too easy? not sure...
We were wrought by a servant, a gift for his lord
And we sing of the ocean, and the love of the shore
My companions and I, clad in white, singing free
With the breath of a power, we’re the call of the sea
Sorry Elvyen, Daeron is incorrect. As you said the white tree doesn't fit in with him... is the answer to your riddle "seagulls?"
ACK! I was so sure about Daeron:( back to the drawing board
No the answer to mine isnt seagulls, that doesnt really fit the last line i dont think
This one is quite LOTR lore oriented
Feanor is incorrect, SL; although I think you nailed Elvyen's. I had forgotten about the Ulumuri, nice guess! I second it.
Dangit Silverlocket! Stop reading my mind!
you are correct, it is the Ulumuri, the white shell horns of Ulmo
ok just for that, i'm forcing you to come up with the next riddle. you have until monday so get crackin' :D
(L.A. i'll get the answer soon.) "Give me some time.. TIME! TIME!"
OK I GOT IT!!!
The answer is the elven loremaster Rumil! He lived in Tirion, where grew Galathilion- Yavanna's WHITE TREE
mwuhahaha:) awesome riddle! was lots of fun researching it
Whoa, these be some tough riddles, methinks. I hadn't thought of the Ulumari, or Rumil.
That's correct, Elvyen! Congratulations! Rumil developed the very first writing system. I hope SL comes up with a hard one...
I hate to disappoint you, but this one will probably prove fairly easy:
Short, squat, silent as stone,
we watch and we wait, by few people known.
Now objects of pity, once fearsome of glare,
Blind empty eyes watch each turn of the stair.
Our fathers have faded through antiquity vast;
Look on us, traveler, and ponder our past.
SL
Exactly so. I knew that one wouldn't take long.
Here's another one that should be pretty quick.
At sight, hearing, and voice I poise,
paying no mind to the terrible noise.
Kings to the north of me,
Death to the east --
Inviolate I, remaining visited
by neither man nor beast.
(Sorry it doesn't scan well; I put it together hastily.)
