Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
1. Deed system
-Some way to keep track in-game of which deeds I need in order to increase which traits. For example, if I want to increase my Will, I would like to see which traits increase Will, and then which deeds I need to complete to gain those traits, in which regions those deeds can be completed, or at what level they become available to work on.
-A deed system tutorial would be great, as this component of the game can be very confusing and/or not seem important to inexperienced players.
Auction House
-PUH-LEEEEEEEEEASE make the default auction time 48 hours instead of 4. I cannot count the amount of time I've wasted in game having to cancel and repost my auctions. I do a lot of auctioning (so maybe I should have learned my lesson by now - LOL), so this is a big pet peeve of mine.
-For the crafting items section, create a search option to only search for things appropriate to a certain profession (eg. scholar, woodworker, metalworker, etc).
-I would like an easy way to see how much each item in a group costs. For example, if 32 light hides are selling for 421 silver, how many is that per hide? Is it a better deal (per hide) than to buy the 77 light hides for 899 silver? If I want to sell my 14 light hides, how much per hide should I charge to be competitive?
2. Hobbies
-Singing, dancing (for entertainment value)
-Swimming, horse riding (for increased speed at both and increased health of horse)
-Arts such as painting (so players can create objects that others can buy and display in their homes)
-Arm wrestling (great for in dwarven taverns)
-Card games (for fun or trophies)
-Collecting
3. Festivals
-Allow instant travel from anywhere in the world to festival locations, so that it isn't such a pain to get to where the fun is taking place.
PvMP
-A tutorial would be extremely helpful! It seems like it could be such a fun side of the game, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to sell things, join groups/fights, find my way around the Ettenmoors, and "level" my creep.
Thank you for asking for our input, and taking the time to read our responses.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. I feel like the crafting system could use a bit of tinkering. The only major issue I have with it is that I wish the recipes for the final crafted item would include something of an itemized list of raw ingredients needed to make the thing. For example: Suppose a piece of medium armor requires X leather pads and Y leather braces, etc. Instead of only telling you it requires X pads and Y braces, it would be nice if it told you all in the same box exactly how many raw, untreated hides of Z type it would require to get to the end of the process. This would greatly assist in the farming process instead of having to do all the math while flipping from tab to tab trying to remember exactly how many hides you're going to need.
2. The only other issue I can think of is also related to crafting. When someone is crafting dyes, it would be pretty cool if there was a full color palette to choose from, or possibly even an input box for a hex code if you want to get technical about it. It would provide for deeper customization if you allowed people to choose their own custom colors when crafting dye, and allowed them to apply an appropriate name to the color.
For what it's worth, I'd also like to be able to talk to NPCs (quest-related, shops, etc.) while riding my mount. Don't really understand why we wouldn't be able to in the first place.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I always thought it would be really cool to be able to custom-design more things. Perhaps let us design our own cosmetic items using in-game options, or submit images for approval to become official insignias for our kinships. There are a lot of graphic designers that play LOTRO (myself included) that would no doubt love the opportunity to express their talents in the form of representing their kinship. Perhaps a signpost outside of the kinship house, or an official kinship cloak similar to what they have in Guild Wars.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. During seasonal festivals, I always feel like I'm under a ton of pressure to grind for Inn League rep. This is a big deal, considering there seems to be only one repeatable way to acquire more rep with them. I can offer two potential solutions to this: 1) It would be nice to see more Inn League quests added so that during festivals, we have more ways to boost our rep with the League. 2) Make the cross-Shire barhop available year-round. Leave the cooldown at 24 hours but make it available to be completed all year long. Or, if you wanted to be really super cool about it, combine my two suggestions by making more Inn League quests and making them available all year. :D
2. I'd like to spend more time fishing (or working on some other hobby, if you fine folks at Turbine felt so inclined to add some more :D) but I feel like there's not much incentive to do so. I'm not really compelled by the chance to mount a big fish on my wall, and it would be nice to have some other reason to grind my fishing skill. Perhaps a new guild similar in purpose to the Inn League with levels of reputation and level-appropriate rewards.
Thanks for asking us for our input. It's nice to see a dev company taking interest in what their players have to say. :)

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing. Give us reason to have a neighborhood. The mustering horns did away with the usefulness of gathering at the Kinhouse prior to an event. Really look into the social aspect of what makes Housing desirable.
Local crafting areas, social buffs, maybe even consignment vendors restricted to one's housing instance.
2. ABC music system. It's a grand baseline you've started here, don't just drop it. (Still looking for Viols and Fiddles).
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Dwarf tossing.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Raiding. Not enough variation once you hit 65. Scale the old ones so they're still fun and not everything is grey. Keeping it all interesting is paramount to longevity.
2.- Playing in-game music.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
Sorry but there are more than 2 that could be addressed
MOUNTS
1. Customisation - All mounts look very similar, I suggest having cosmetic and gear slots for your mount the same way that characters do.
Tailors - could make blankets, saddles and bridles for cosmetic purposes
Metalsmiths - could make horse body armour to increase a mounts armour and health. This would allow your mount to take more damage before dismounting but also have a debuff of slowing your mount down in relationship to how much armour is worn, as the counterbalance. (refer Horseback Combat)
2. Horseback Combat - At present the relationship between mounts and combat feels separate, the mounts are a slow burden you have to desummon so you can fight. This can be fixed by making it so that either:
Performing actions while mounted such as mining or combat dismounts you
Or
You can use certain combat skills while riding but any damage taken is also taken by the mount, when its health is used up you would be dismounted. This then ties in with the use of armour for mounts under customisation and allows players to choose between a fast mount with low hit points and a slow mount with high hit points for combat.
QUESTING
1. Quest Rings - need to be revamped, it is very hard to tell the difference between a ring to pickup quests and hand in, slight colour differences or animations don’t cut it. If you want to keep the ring as the quest icon at least have a tick animation appear on the ring at to identify handins or use a different icon all together. NPC selection also needs a bigger clicking area of sensitivity.
2. Quest Items - there is an inconsistency when picking up quest items from the environment when in a fellowship, from level 1 to 65.
At lower levels an item when picked up despawns and has a long respawn rate til your fellow can pick it up.
Slightly higher level it respawns quicker
Higher again it despawns so you cant see it but your fellow can still see it and pick it up
Higher again it doesn't despawn but stays visable to both of you, but you both need to pick it up
Then at level 64 we have come across only one of the fellowship has to click on it and everyone gets credit
You need to chose one system and stick with it
3. Maps - should show names of ride points when a curser is held over them, it is hard to identify places on the map, also there is often very little correlation between the names at the stable master and those on the map you are riding to, they often don’t match the flags on the map.
4. Exploit Mode - needs a big revamp, it is oversensitive and does not allow for realistic game play. If I shoot an arrow to pull a mob and I stand behind a wall or tree to break line of sight, he should come to me not go into exploit mode. I am not exploiting the game; I just do not want to melee him in the middle of the camp. Line of sight pulls are a big part of intelligent game play and exploit mode currently forces people often to run in when they should be able to bring the mobs to them.
I have even had this kick in when standing at the top of the steps and have had to run down to make the mob engage, it breaks the fluidity and choice in regards to controlling the fight. Also substantial objects such as trees, rocks and wall should be made solid and should not be able to be fired through, this then makes the landscape a viable part of the strategy of the game.
5. Identifying Mobs - hovering your curser over a mob should tell you its level and name, you shouldn’t have to select it to get information about its level. Also dead bodies should also still be able to be identified, at present when they are dead, what level they are and what they are cant be seen. This information helps develop strategies when reviewing a fight.
HOUSING
A lot has been said but houses are often no more than glorified chests, an extra map and a money sink. To make them an integral part of the game it can be fixed by:
1. Rested Buff - If you spend more than an hour resting or logged out in your house you would get a rested buff. This buff increases in increments of 1hour = 15min buff then for every 15minutes over that you get an extra 15minutes duration up 2 hours rest = 1 hour rested buff. The buff can affect morale and power regen, scalable by level. This will encourage people to use and logout in their homes
2. Ovens, Work Benches - I should have a stove to cook a pie in my home, bench to craft on in the shed, as a farmer I should be able to grow a vegetable patch out the back.
If crafting was integrated it would make housing very viable, I can understand smithing having to be at a forge, maybe Kin houses would be more suited for these or the housing estate could have one
3. Cosmetic - items, we really need a wardrobe to hang up our cometic items
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Flying - I would like to see the eagles get involved in the fight by helping us get around in the next expansion either as stable mounts or mounts for characters. Perhaps you would need to rep up with the eagles to use these.
Swimming - it would be good if you could swim and interact with objects underwater, maybe even enter secret passage ways through underwater caves, this would increase the feeling of freedom and not make rivers and lakes just pretty obstacles
Thankyou for your time

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.The LFF System is so inefficiant and clunky and its easier to spam glff than use the lff panel, Added to that revamp it would be awsome if we could do instances with chars from other servers like an autogrouping choice where it puts everyone into the instance together it would make things alot better expecially for newer players as most players are only lvling alts as well as people who dont want to sit in there chair for 2 hours finding 6 players to do an instance with and hope they have enough time to finish it
2.The Mount system is another there were so many different things in the LOTR Lore that people rode not just horses such as the eagles or the Elephants and to make travel for the higher lvl people with the gold to purches them be able to not spend so much time running to meet people expecially chars with no porting skills ie everyone but hunters
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
A faction pvp system where kinships could compete for territory's which could yeild bonus's depending on how big the area is or how long your kinship has held it and NOT in PvMP or just gold for the kinship somthing it would make for a fun end game activity for kinships to do
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.hOBBIES as there is no real point to doing them besides for trophies for my never used kinhouse
2. Exploring as travel through out the world for high lvl characters is slow and takes for ever to get anywhere so y bother exploring i just port everywhere

1. Kinships - the concept of a kinship is so very important in LOTRO. In my kinship, many of us rarely play with people outside the kinship because we enjoy playing with each so much. But the kinship system needs to be re-vamped. The kinship houses should follow the suggestions I give below for housing. The kinship panel should be redone so that kinships can customize and add in more info about kinmembers. For instance, kin rosters should allow people to add in their alts (if they choose to) so that all kinmates can see who has what alts. Also, the kin panel could be used to post what quests/deeds/instances/skirmishes kinmates need/want to run so that others in the kin who need the same stuff can hook up with them. This could be done by clicking on a kinmates name and being taken to a new panel which shows info about that kinmate. Obviously, the kinmate would have to allow people to view and fill in whatever info they want others to see. Many other possibilities but I'm kinda going blank right now :(.
2. Housing - housing has suffered for far too long. Many people in my kinship have abandoned their houses because they see them as not worth the money to upkeep. Housing is too restrictive imo and the neighborhoods play no part in making housing better.
A great way to change this would be to make the inside of the houses into a grid or matrix system. Housing items (whether they are on the floor or walls) take up a certain number of spaces. As long as enough spaces are free, I can place an item anywhere I want.
Also, the chests should not be limited in anyway. The personal housing chests should be able to hold any in-game item. Also, it would be nice to add more available chests or allow us to upgrade our chests and make them larger. Each large house could still only have 2 chests but each chest could be highly expandable.
Finally, the neighborhoods offer a wealth of possibilities to make housing better. Neighborhoods could be customizable by its members based on 'hood members banding together and purchasing "abilities" or "capabilities" for their neighborhood that only residents can benefit from. For instance, the residents band together and construct one of many different types of Inns within their neighborhood and those who contribute are given credit in the Inn somehow (maybe usable and readable books laying around tell generic stories of contributors adventures around Middle Earth?). There should be a neighborhood bulletin board so residents can communicate with each other. You could even hold elections and vote in a home owner's association of sorts.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be? This is tough....mounted combat would be great but I'm sure we will see that in Rohan. Also, I would like to see cosmetic weapons and shields be implemented although I don't think that is a new mechanic per se.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Skirmishes - well, I guess I do have time for them but I really want to see them expanded more and more. Not just adding new skirms but expanding the system in a huge way.
2. Hobby - the hobby system is a great idea but it seems to have been put to the wayside. I would like to see a huge expansion of the hobby system to include things like horse raising/training. This system has so many possibilities but currently it is not worth the time because it is so one-dimensional.

1a) I would really like to see some work done on the in-game social options. Specifically, I would like to see a revamp of the "friends" system to accommodate the fact that everyone has like 9 characters now instead of the small number it was designed to accommodate. Two examples of how I would imagine this working: (i) combine all characters for a single account onto one line in the friends list, (ii) for characters with inactive accounts, but that we all hope come back some day, move them to a sub-list that is not constantly polling for group and location information.
1b) I really have a lot of issues with the housing system. Mostly it is due to the bound items. I have found that since I can't easily move things around, I just ignore it. Since all of the cool items are bound, there's no way to quickly rearrange (for example) wall coverings in the kinship house - instead you have to send everything back to the owners and then ask them politely to put the item where you want it (if you can figure out who the owner even is!). Two possible solutions to this: (i) make a trophy inventory bag that is available when you are in decorating mode and can store bound trophies so that you can move things around or even just leave them in there. (ii) allow people to carry bound items when in decorating mode, but any still in the inventory immediately get sent away when they leave the house area. I also want multiple arrangements (like multiple cosmetic outfits) and more storage space (maybe I can build a basement?), but those aren't stopping me from actually using the decorations.
2) I like the idea of incorporating a true tower defense mechanic into a skirmish.
3a) I'd like to spend more time doing a variety of instances and have had trouble finding people interested in doing anything besides a specific few. Not sure how to solve that one though!
3b) I want to do more things like the bar fight. I'm still very sad that I never got to do chicken ball (bring it back!!!!)

2.
1. Crafting:
A. Search function - Allow Ingredients, Component items or stats <mainly for cooking recipes such as +might> to also be criteria on the search.
B. Craft Queue - Having the ability to queue even one step past the current work in progress would be beneficial to players. The current crafting keeps a reducing count of the current work as the items are made, making it impossible to manually prep for the next step of creation. Either a queue, or a separate counter for items currently being made, would be nice.
C. Reverse Crafting - If I want to make 20 Dwarf-make Iron Armour, I could select 20, and it would first create the 20 iron chain links I would need to make, first, as long as I had the materials available, and then continue on to the armour.
2. Housing Areas:
A. Travel Locations from homesteads - I believe there should be at least a travel to the major city from where you can get a ride TO the homesteads.
B. Crafting Locations - In all of the time since kinship halls, and housing has been around, no dwarf has decided they needed a forge "closer to home", or a hobbit had the desire to have a stove nearby for their second afternoon snack? Not thinking a superior type needs to be in the housing areas, but some sort of crafting area would be nice. Doesn't need to be in for each house/kin hall, but in the district near the bank area would be realistic.

1. "Mentor" play - The few games that have offered this option have definitely gotten it right. Being able to lower my level to be able to group realistically with friends, family and kin members would be a great benefit, for those of us who have too many toons to create another. Reducing the level including reducing player skills, damage, stats, etc, to match the level of choice and stopping experience gain for the duration. Even if the levels are just in 5 level increments, it would add considerable grouping opportunities for established players to help newer players without taking away from the new players experience, or fun.

1. Hobbies are a definite, though the limited options <fishing only>, and usefulness are partial a deterrent, I still enjoy the hobby when I am chatting with friends.
2. Festivals/Special events - Always fun, when time permits, and even with the extended duration ones, I still find myself busy with everything else; crafting, leveling, assisting friends/kinship members. When I DO get time, it's generally "rush hour" for everyone else to be there as well, and that limits progression on some events.

Q1
Crafting, Smelting/Tanning etc take too long, I take a shower, wash the dishes, have a shave if I know I have to do any crafting, surely the objective of a game is to have the players eyes glued to the screen continuosly rather than periods of AFK. The Rivendell to Mirobel taxi was like this too but fortunately you gave us more relic masters.
Q2
Underwater movement/exploring, theres sunken stuff I missed in Evendim and the waterworks that Id love to check out.
Q3
I havent escaped moria yet but id like to see more of it.

Question 1:
1) Housing. So few hooks. So little point in owning a house, except as a money sink.
2) Traveling. It takes forever to get anywhere.
Question 2:
NPC Henchmen. Basically the reason I quit the game was that I couldn't do the quests I had, and couldn't do them because I couldn't solo them, nor could I find anyone willing to help me.
Question 3:
The Shire. There should be more stuff to do there for high levels. Maybe once you get the sherrif thing, have quests to do that. Maybe just randomly catch criminals or something.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. As a not hardcore player, i still fill that vault space its insufficient, specially when you try
to amass various sets of gear, you want later to mix, equip depending on the instance you run. I am not the kind of player the keeps all the trash, but useful stuff, like gear, barter coins, crafting ingredients. I have already a kin home, and a deluxe home and still i feel like there is never enough room to keep all those things in your vault. Please, reconsider giving away more space, and more shared vault spaces too, or BoA (Bind of Account) items.
2. I think crafting, needs a major revamp, or another point of view. While i can see its a fun thing to do, when you already have everything mastered. I see it pointless when you're specially running your first character, or leveling a new craft on your alter. You always end up mastering tiers that are underlevel, making that craft unuseful unless you roll a new alter which is going to get benefit from that previous crafted you worked on. Craft should be fun, productive and helpful (specially to the new player). One of the worst craftings ever could be Scholar, very fustrating i must say, tons of hours grinding, for a only a few spots in game were to grind actually compared to the other crafts, plus not really that rewarding.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I would like Turbine introduced real Racial traits, not like those we get for being human, but like for being a man of Rohan, Gondor, Etc. Not every Human(Man) its equal, on the world of Tolkien every civilization had different virtues. Where the Men of Gondor, remained the most valerous, nobles and strong warriors, the Men of Rohan where known for its supremacy at riding horses, and their calvary strength. Turbine should take these things into account, and give some real reason to choose from where we are. I bet also that this would add more in depth to the game, and roleplayers would love to see this happening.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. All the old Instaces i never happened to run like... (Helegrod, CD, Uru, Rift, etc..) You should make an scalable version for high level players, with adjusted rewards, or give people a reason to make them come back. (And i don't think the new horse that is inc on the next patch is enough for some of us to go there).
2. Riding through Moria: I see it pointless that everytime i run a new alt into Moria, i have to farm both factions with the dwarves to get my legendary and a goat to be able to ride inside. Give players, some short of transport equal to goat, i usually end up skipping Moria, and going straight into Lothlorien at 57 (as many of us does).

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
First of all i must start by saying that, as you being turbine; you guys have created the basically the first MMO that has had incredible success. Asherons Call is still the best game ever in my eyes because of its ability for you to be free. The Armour, you can dye it match sets and do all crazy things just dressing your character. There were few level restrictions in the game. You were able to raise individual stats to an insane point; no other game has ever came close to letting you do such a feat. The grid system of dodging magic spells and arrows was also amazing and the PvP.... PERFECT. you cannot play a game with better pvp due to the grid system and the fluent motions.
Basically what i am trying to say here is that you guys made the perfect MMO that lacked a story line and a quest line set up. You also added too many things to make the game easier for newer players but basically destroyed the challenge of the game. If you were to implement a grid system, with those kinds of movements in PvP and Combat with a story-line like LoTR; there would be no game to compare. I feel this game mimics a lot of what WoW has to offer and after nearly everyone in the world has played it, its kind of a buzz kill to join a new game to experience the same thing

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
What could be revamped?
1. Hunter Ports - lets see, hunters have 13 location ports and camp site port. With each new zone, hunters get a new port to try to fit into an alreay overloaded set of quickbars filled with skills, traps, potions, and food items. We could really use a single quick slot port with a drop down list (for example) to help cut down on quick bar clutter.
2. Names over player heads - I have seen names that take up my full screen due to the length of the pvp title, first name, last name, and deed title. Yes, I can turn off MY pvp title and MY deed title and MY last name - or I can turn off everything and not see who anyone is. The point is that I want to see first and last names (currently only shown with deed titles) without having the rest of those mile long names cluttering up my screen when going thru places like 21st Hall. After all, sometimes the first and last name combos are funny but the rest is just extraneous junk to some of us who turn down graphics due to slower PCs.
I agree that housing needs a revamp but that would be a third item on my list and I felt the other two needed at least one mention in here.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1) Group Finding Tools, especially for new (or returning after many years like me) players tools. Yes, I realize there is a fellowship tool in the social panel, but I have used it dozens of times and have yet to form a group from it. As well, I realize there is a GLFF channel, which seems like a great idea at first, but then you realize 99% of the players looking for groups there are looking for endgame content. Finding groups for middle level questing can be tough, and finding groups for full fellowship groups (Fornost, Evindom, lvl 50 raids, etc) can be just brutal.
2) Expanded quest log and storage. I am constantly having to remove quests from my quest log as they become gray and I move on to a new zone, but I wish I didn't have to. I'd like to finish these quests and move on, but my quest log is always full. I have a notepad of quests I have had to delete, so that if I see a LFF message for that quest, I can go back and join the group, and have them share it with me. Unfortunately, I also have to write down where I got it from and who as well, in some cases, as the level 50 raid in Misty Mountains, because someone in the group might not have the quest that I wish to complete... it's painful. I spend too much time micro-managing my limited storage. I wish I just had a big place where I could drop off stuff and get back to the fun, instead of taking the time every day to determine if want to keep stack X, I have to remove stack Y. FYI, I use ALTS for storage, I purchased the adv. pack so that I can access shared storage, and I have a deluxe house with all chests full. My friend and I, instead of joining an existing kinship, decided to form our own, MOSTLY because the three extra storage chests we get from the kinship house......
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Expanded hobbies. Fishing is fine, however I came from WOW, and had multiple toons with maxed fishing, so fishing in LOTRO is painful. I believe I got my skill up to 10, and tossed my pole in the water. I'd almost like to see some sort of lottery system, such as you can only fish five times a day, perhaps in a specific location, in which the reward would be something special... that way, I could fish a little each day, with a chance of getting something cool or valuable or fun or silly... instead of just sitting there fishing for recipe food or trophy fish for my already full house.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1) I'd like to spend more time in groups doing group oriented activities. The community in LOTRO is great, and the majority of players I have met have been great. Making it easier and/or providing incentives for players to get together a bit more would be nice. I do love soloing, and I do love the new (forget the name) blessing you get so that you can solo the epic instances now - so much fun and a great job guys!!! -- but still have the problem of finding groups for group questing/raids. The reason that I love soloing the epic quests now is that I dont have to go through the pain of trying to find 6 players to simply complete a quest or move the storyline.
2) I love browsing the AH and looking for good deals/buys, but wish we could post/bid more than 30. I also get frustrated, when posting multiple items, when the Post Item button becomes active, and you click it, and then get an error message telling us to wait longer to click the button. If the button moves from gray to active, and we click it, it should not tell us to slow down...?... It's silly.
Great job guys with the game. Five of us recently left WOW and came back to LOTRO after playing in the Open Beta and playing for about 8 months. The game is much much improved, all of us like the game much better, and are having a blast.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. LoTRO's system for user-created chat channels is crude at best. User-created channels without any tools for user moderation are the worst kind of interenet mind-pollution. [If you don't understand what I mean, try monitoring 'glff' on Elendilmir for a day.] Please take a look at the user chat channel tools in City of Heroes. That system has exactly the needed moderation options. The creator of a channel in CoH can set it to moderated or unmoderated, promote and manage moderators, silence or ban disruptive players etc.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Dance emotes for Horses
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. The only reason I don't have time for more of activity X is because I am stuck grinding activity Y. [Y is almost always something to do with Legendary Items, and X is practically everything else in the game.]

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Weapon Sets a la DDO (since this is a Turbine game, I don't think I need to describe this further)
2. The ability to mail multiple items at once. Instead of having one slot you can drag items to in the compose mail UI, have 5 or 10 slots.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Queues. These could be used for skirmishes or group content like book chapters or easy instances (where group comp doesn't matter). You would be able to join the queue from anywhere in the world and get a join dialog when enough people where queued up.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Festival content, Inn/Ale League quests.
2. Rerunning old instances - Great Barrows and Fornost were a ton of fun at level. On my to-do list is to run up an alt to try out the new and improved Garth Agarwen at level.

1. Housing - the current hook system makes it virtually impossible to make a house actually look like a home. everything is a little too disjointed.
2. Old dungeons & battles - For lower level dungeons (both fellowship and raid), it would be nice to see them scale up at intervals beginning at the original level they were designed for and up to the 65 level cap. For the actual dungeons, I would personally prefer to see them remain as dungeons with upgraded rewards at the higher tiers rather than skirmishes. I really dont want to see CD bosses and the like soloable on-level by any class. for CD in particular, anything less than 6 players is a little unrealistic, and the skirmish system, while fun, just doesnt seem to have the same feel as a dungeon.
The Aughaire battles and the Battle for Lothlorien are examples of what I would like to see transferred to the skirmish system.
Finally, while I really liked the new challenges in Garth Agarwen, I dont like that it was split into 3 separate instances with a whole bunch of trash in the early areas being in the regular game world. Ran with a few friends the other night and having other groups tagging mobs etc in this area as we were trying to complete a few quests got rather annoying. My suggestion: keep the new challenges, but change it back to having one instance for the whole area.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Of all the ideas I've seen floating around on the suggestion forums that would truly be new gameplay mechanics, I think
Hayoo's Tavern Revelry system has got to be the best. Heck, I think that particular post got him the Hall of Famer title on the forums.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Chicken play
2. PvMP (I've played on my creep a bit more but I hardly take my main Freep out due to the lack of rewards).
answers are in the quote :)

I'll cast another vote for a housing revamp.
Two changes I would suggest:
1. Remove the hooks and replace them with a system of free placement of furniture with a set of commands that allow players to move items on their x/y/z axes and rotate them, or expand the number of hooks and make them moveable
2. Add storage objects, such as closets for all those festival costumes I've acquired, and weapon racks and armor mannequins for display of all those beloved but out-levelled pieces of equipment such as my Lore-master's complete Rift armor set or my Guardian's well-used Reinforced Black Ash Hammer. Bonus points if you make these storage objects craftable!

Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted combat!
A number of players are anticipating that this will be added in a hypothetical Riders of Rohan expansion pack, but I thought it worth mentioning, just in case. But the changes to mounts that were implemented with Siege of Mirkwood seem to foreshadow this. I'm thinking all it needs is a way to add armor to our horses' stat set, along with commands and weaponry that can be equipped and used while mounted.

Festivals. Maybe if some of the rewards were more relevant to high-level characters, it'd be more tempting to participate...

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. HOUSING! I ran out of spaces for my housing items a long time ago and a lot of them are now taking up bank space cause I just don't want to part with them but due to the lack of spaces/restrictions they get banked. Also I am a raider and as such I value the sets I acquire from running these raids. I would like to be able to make these pieces into a display in my house so I don't have to trash them when I get (more) desperate for bank space. Running a raid for 9+ plus months you become attached to certain gear. I don't know if you noticed but space is a major factor. Add bigger houses with more chests! I will pay more gold. I need more space (in case you haven't noticed!). Heck I will even pay for a housing expansion (like I did the explorer pack to get the extra bank space which was much needed!). There are a ton of suggestions in the housing forum but these are the basics for me. More Space on everything and less restrictions :D
2. Traits - These as well as a few other systems (conjs) are stuck back in SoA. They need to be upgraded! Not only do these need to be looked at but there needs to be a quicker way to retrait. I have different traits I use for solo, moors and raid and I would like maybe a way to save trait groups or something so it's not so much of a hassle when I want to go to moors after a raid.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Leveling Resistances in PVMP. I think this would encourage more people to stay out and pvp more. If we can add to our chars in the PVP setting I think more people would be out there freep side. (this of course would not carry over to PVE).
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Fishing
2. Festivals

Q1:
-- mail. Make it possible to send multiple items with one mail, or to send mail to multiple recipients, short of an entire kin mail.
-- crafting: increase the number of high-volume crafting recipes available.
Q2:
-- more diverse hobbies: fishing is fun, but others would be welcome. Hunting, collecting (e.g. insects, birds, flowers, relics, even town / settlement stamps), dancing (not as a deed).
Q3:
-- festivals.
-- PvMP

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
1. I would really like to see housing expanded specifically the freeform design.
2. The second part of housing would be to add activities and functions to the housing areas so they were visited more often.
1. Mini games that you could play in taverns would be really cool maybe board or dice games somehing outside your character
1. Raiding is my first one, I really enjoyed the rift raiding days.
2. Crafting is my other one I really like it but I don't have enough time to gather enough resources

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The rewards per instance needs reviewed. Sword Halls is the only 3man that gets much play simply because it takes far less time to get the same 3 reward coins.
2.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?There are so many good instances in SoA that dont get much use anymore. I think doing something like you have done in DDO with the epic difficulty would let you expand the endgame content without the diffulculty of creating and playtesting new maps. The biggest issue is you would need to provide barter drops for level cap rewards to draw players back to them. The ability to get symbols of celimbror for (alot) of these barter coins would be a good idea. The lvl 65 second ages will become outdated (i hope) fairly soon anyway letting people earn them with something like 300 or 500 BG coins, and giving BG coins as rewards for playing old instances at level 65 would work fine.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Basically my kin only runs SG and the two raids (DN and BG) anymore. That means we run SG a few times every day. I would like to have more level cap 6man instances without locks so there was more variety at endgame.
2.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.Not sure if this counts as a system revisal, but I would like to see animations/meshes of characters, creatures, cloaks, weapons, horses, etc. not go through each other and look utterly unrealistic. (is "clipping" the right term?).
2.I would like to see a lot more hooded cloaks variations instead of the same basic styles (like a hood that goes over the face slightly more with a mask covering the bottom of the face for example). Hooded cloaks are a nice cosmetic appeal, but they are kind of limited.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
This is probably a waste of time, but I would love to see the combat system totally revised. Make it more "Hack n Slash" in the way that, to swing a weapon, you have to click the mouse button for every swing, no "auto-attack" unless you want to toggle it on and even have a block button used to block/parry manually with success based on timing and skills. Combat seems to automated and repetitive.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.Make fishing more realistic, fun, and rewarding). It is an awesome idea for this kind of game!
2.More interaction with other players in whatever way it takes. "MMO" loses its meaning when nobody wants to join up with others for questing, crafting, or just plain socializing. Maybe add more to emotes too.
