Apprentice
Journeyman
Expert
Artisan
Master
Supreme
Xhiu
Of course you could enter your name where mine exists...
Other than adding main ingredients which seems rather foolish, you get recipes that use different ingredients, as in you have to collect from apprentice to master, and the item has your name on it.
Gauntlets of Xhiu... Ring of Xhiu, (because after all... by now I'm a well known craftsperson, yes?)
no brainer imo.

Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
Or they could start renaming crafting tiers, between brackets is the old tier name. It might give a bit of confusion at the start, but at the end it doesn't really matters much.
Beginner (apprentice)
Apprentice (journeyman)
Journeyman (expert)
Practised (artisan)
Expert (master)
Artisan (supreme)
Profesional (?)
Master
Supreme
Supreme Master
Royal
Legendary
12 Tiers should be long enough to last to level 100.

Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
Well, what i would really like to see in the expansion are better mounts. Increase speed, appearance, and stats to new ones so they are more distinctive then the others. In the LOTR books you can see horses have a very important role in the story, so why not make it that way in the game. Oh, yeah you have meta deed mounts but those are not that much different from the ones you buy at reputation traders and Lotro store. As i see it there should be a special mount or a number of them, more so because we are coming closer to rohan and we all know that the best horses come from there.
I would like to see a mount with more than 300 morale, 180% speed, a reasonable amount of armor and some better animations that they do when i hit space.
Some games made their mounts fly, so this is not asking for two much.

The Tier description is logical but a little dry in terms of flavour. Why not have area names for ingredients that are the equivalent of the Tiers? Ered Luin Iron Ore is Tier 1, Enedwaith Iron Ore is Tier 6.
I know Lorewise its not the best idea (as you would expect good quality Ore in Ered Luin where the Dwarves are) but we are trying to impose a progression system based on character level on Middle Earth, which simply doesnt fit in with the lore anyway.

They actually used to do that. At one point we had Misty Mountain Iron and silver instead of ancient iron. The problem you have is when more than one area has the same tier of good. Using your Ered Luin iron, what would then be in the Shire and parts of Bree-land, which are the same tier? Three kinds of ore that are, essentially, all the same? Or you run into "Ered Luin" ore in the Shire, which makes no sense at all. That's why they changed some of the names they used to have.
Right now the names of the resources aren't the problem anyways. With where we're going, call it Dunland iron or something like that and have it cover that whole tier. The problem you get is what do you call the overall tier? We've got master, supreme master... Those could be renamed by tier while leaving the actual goods names alone.

Wooho! I hope you will not turn your backs on us pvp fans once again.... :(
In my experience this is wishful thinking. When have they really listened to the PvMP community? This is just going to be another false promise. New skills, a little change to some classes.....great we can use them. Unfortunately it's not going to be enough for me and many others to stay with this game......but hey not to worry! See they don't need us, especially with F2P now. IMO they see the PvP community as a fringe market in this game and F2P is where the real profit lies. No new zone = bye bye Lotro. I have waited years in hopes of better PvP because if they really wanted to(with a little work obviously) they could make this games PvP far better than other MMO's.....what we get is a false promise and the "possibility" that they will "think" about adding a new zone. That's a lot of loose ground to stand on all the while hoping someone will come and save you before it collapses underneath.
I expect the same old same old unbalanced moors(i'm aware of the lore on this.....doesn't justify anything imo....it's a game with PvP content....PvP should strive to be as balanced as possible.) I expect many many disagreements from the PvE heads and carebear PvPer's. Flame on!

Well, Ive played this game for 4 months now, done almost everything there is to do and was really thinking on moving on to monsterplay, but if this is what i have to look forward to i dont think im going to stick around for long. I really hope they start listening to the community because so far, looking at the older threads all the changes to the game were minor. I think we dont expect that much from turbine, after all they aren't really a break through company, they mostly repackage old ideas. But new areas, flashy new outfits, new equipment and a PVP revamp are within their ability.

Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
Personally, I hope the E3 will give us more infos and especially videos and screenshots from the new regions.
Although I was kind of surprised that we only get Isengard (incl. Dunlaand and the Gap) and not "The Riders of Rohan", I still hope that the Riders will follow in 2012... and that we get at least one or two new regions between the 2011 and 2012 expansions: Fangorn would be just perfect to close the circle around the Misty Mountains and the gap between Lothlorien and Isengard...
Fangorn in Spring 2012 and Rohan in the Fall of 2012... that would be amazing and proof that we can still hope for the really iconic places.
I think for a lot of people the main reason to play LotRO and not another MMO is one - the community - and two Middle-Earth. So they really should try to get to iconic places as soon as possible. They did a good job with Mirwood and Enedwaith, I think, but even I as a total Tolkien-freak am waiting more and more for places like Fangorn, Helm's Deep and Edoras... not to mention Gondor with Minas Tirith, Ithilien...
But I think the three new regions coculd be pretty satisfying if they are big enough (I hope for the region Isgenard to actually also contain Nan Corunir and not just the ring and the tower).

no offence but PvP has always been a sort of niche market in LOTRO, expecting Turbine to invest a large sum of money in an area that has limited apeal (and they have internal data to back this up, Sapience and others have said this many times) is just plain stupid from a business view point and to expect them to invest a large sum of money into PvP is unrealistic.
that said, a new zone is nothing to turn your nose at and if (as I suspect) PvP will require some sort of payment from F2P and Premium you can be sure it'll get more attention from Turbine, I don't know how much more, but more.
see, no flames. whatever happens, I do hope you end up having fun, here or elsewhere.

Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
So after reading the announcement here: http://isengard.lotro.com/purchase.php to prepurchase RoI, I must wonder, what makes this worth it to VIPs? Right now the $50 version only gives us cosmetics, horses, and 1000TP. I don't count the XP bonus since we get rest XP anyway and this "bonus" doesn't seem to apply beyond the timer for its one-time use.
I've already got all the quest packs, and that I presume is the meat of the Legendary edition. But right now the pathetically few, easy to make perks aren't enough for me to prepurchase the $50 version as much as I want to support the game.
Just a suggestion, add better VIP perks (that we don't already get) to the Legendary edition and you'll have a promised buyer.
-
Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
Agree'd.
Currently, the pack itself is £30 for me - or around that. But the perks that I see don't really apply or appeal directly, at least. That said, I play Elves more than Men - so that could be the reasoning.

Given that store mounts are $25.00 a pop... you could argue that you get $75.00 worth of mounts. :/

Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
Kinda confused (been playing for about two weeks total so bear with me)
I am a VIP, and I still need to get the next two expansions.. so prepurchasing this does not take away from the need
to get the older two, correct? Or by getting the 50.00 version do I get all previous expansions too?
The 25% xp bonus to 65, is that only on existing toons, and it never runs out no matter how long it takes me to go from 1-65? Reason I'm asking is I only have one character, it would be pretty cool to make a few more and then buy the new expansion if all the future toons would benefit from the 25% bonus.. plus I only play for 1-3 hours a day, I would be miffed if 8 months from now I don't still get the bonus xp on all the characters I made before buying isengard.

As of now, don't waste your money. I just pre-ordered and myaccount.turbine.com is down for scheduled maintenance.
I'm not usually a complainer but it says SCHEDULED maintenance. You SCHEDULED the account management panel to be DOWN at the LAUNCH of the preorder? W.... T.... F....

I would also like an answer to this, as I need to remake a few low lvl characters if that is indeed the way it is going to go.
-
Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
We really need another option for the pre purchase. I'm talking about the VIP/Lifers here. DOn't need those quest packs, already have done those areas, but to rate a $50 purchase price with wasted bonuses is just not gonna cut it. Give something worthwhile for those lifers out there that don't want or need quest packs. I'll wait and see what you all do before spending my money. And, why isn't this purchaseable with TP?

Turbine myaccount site was up earlier, but there was no way to enter the product code. I imagine they are down now to add that small detail to the site. Just another fine example of Turbine releasing new product without testing to see if it works beforehand. (I imagine people will be wishing for the return of Codemasters soon)

Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
I think i'll relax and wait awhile before I go ballistic. Let's see what happens for a few weeks. We have all the way until September 27th to address the expansion.
-
Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
Mae govannen!
Indeed, as good as these offers sound, for lifers/founders they are not a good deal. Paying for content which we already have paid for and thus in the end paying approx. 20 $ just for the horses and cosmetic items seems like not worth the money or a rip off, depending on your point of view. Especially for Rohan fans (and there are many in the game) this is a bad situation, since we do not even know, if there will be any other armors and horses fitting to that realm in the future.
Suggestion: Either make a special package for lifers, which does not contain all the content which we already have anyway, but the new interesting items - and offer this for a lower, reasonable price. Or offer some additional specials for the lifers, like for example special housing items, additional horses, additional armors etc, to compensate the high price.

I doubt they will wait a few weeks to charge my card, the main reason I bought it now was for the bonuses that I can use now. I imagine it will be up before the end of the day, but they should turn off the order taking machine if they cannot actually fulfill the order.

Re: Feedback: THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE™: RISE OF ISENGARD™ Announcement
I really wanted to support Turbine and buy a pack, but they all contain the +25% xp buff. I already hate that we level so fast, I dont want any buffs, quite the contrary.
So, no deal for me, will get it in September

For some reason Turbine uses that as the general error screen that comes up when the servers are experiencing overload conditions. They aren't actually down for scheduled maintenance.

The 25% XP buff comes on a pocket item, which you can choose not to equip if you prefer. If you don't equip it, then no buff. Your choice. :)

Count me as another who is disappointed with this stance. The one thing I was most impressed with during the f2p transition was the repeated promise that VIPs would [if they chose to save their Turbine Points] never have to spend money on an expansion, instead using Turbine Points. While the future will tell if this remains true, I feel completely screwed over by this announcement. I would happily have spent 5000TPs to preorder the Legendary package. Happily! Sadly no info on how long they will last, if it's permanent or not.

Isn't it down because of a bug with the colours people are getting? Not scheduled of course, I assume they are too busy with fixing stuff then making sure it says "emergency maintenance."

Because lifers get TP "for free", and even if the expansion itself will eventually be avalible by TP - this way makes Turbine more money.

Well as above, this isn't the expansion. It's the preorder, I don't remember any promise of preorders paid with TP.

I might be an item which you have to use. Much like you use an item to gain the mount travel discount.

+1 on this. I cancelled my VIP when I got to lvl 65 and found out that there was nothing left to buy, but I was always under the impression that I was saving points for expansions. I'm glad I opted out of that plan a long time ago.
