I am going to assume you are being sarcastic... :P
However, as to your comment, a lot of people already have done exactly that. Why else do you think they closed 19 servers?

Want a truly "Epic" toon with an epic weapon? Make the level, stats, etc on your weapon dependent on the deeds you have completed. Want to max your weapon out, go to forochel and do all the deeds. Then Angmar. Then Shire. Then Enedwaith....
Point is that right now you grind the same content over and over, but nothing points you back to all those areas that you bypassed to shoot up to level 100 using double XP tomes. Make all those early areas count!
What does this have to do with the price of tea in China?
Also, been there. Done that.
Not everone "shot" to 100 or used XP tomes. It's strange that you assume those participating in this thread did so.
Seems like a case of projecting characteristics you find unsavory onto people with whom you disagree. Without any actual cause to do so.
You know guys you can avoid grind via store which I just see when I check game today like this: p2w again! no way man wb or hq is maad

So instead of actually assuming things like you do, I back up my statements with my history in the game and the statements of the people that I deal with. The sheer volume of people trying to buy/trade EXP tomes and to get power leveled through content or Warg Pens so they can get to 100 as fast as they can. I make no assumptions, I make observations based on the chat I see and the people that I deal with. And I can only ASSUME that because you take such an offense at something that may not have anything to do with YOU, that you are indeed one of the people I mention.
However you tend to make many assumptions and then lash out at people for no particular reason. This would lead us to believe that you base your statements instead of on fact on baseless emotion and striking out at people through an "Anonymous" forum. I think the technical term is "Cyber Bully". Please refrain from having an intelligent conversation when it is apparent that you are in no way equipped with the information to do so.
You're only seeing the fraction of people who want to power level in chat because they need help from others to do that. "I need an exp tome", or "I need a group to farm exp from sword halls". That group is still in the large minority, no matter what your chat window would help you assume.
Let's play a scenario out...
traffic for me when I go to work every day is awful, BUT on Good Friday many Catholics and Christians take the day off work. That day traffic for me is great THEREFORE we can suppose that Catholics and Christians are the ones causing traffic jams, correct?
Just because people are silent (not in chat) doesn't mean they don't count statistically speaking. I have 5 toons, I ground every one to 100, deeds and all. I said NOTHING in chat in all that time because I didn't need anyone else's help, nor did I feel like I needed to announce that I was grinding the content.
Hmmm, still not seeing where going back and doing deeds and such in old regions we've already completed has anything to do with the insane grind at "endgame."
I guess pointing that out makes me a cyber-bully.
This just seems like more "if you're finding the game isn't fun for you anymore, put on my rose-colored glasses and play like me! And if you don't, then you're doing it wrong" malarkey.
99% of the mmos out there and especially the newer ones don't have this absolute grind so you actually get to play the game. LOTRO needs to do away with the 100s of hrs of grind for little endgame that there currently is. Remove the huge grind + alt grind and make raids ty.
Essences - tolerable
Legendary item imbuement - absolute bs + if you have alts, farming for what? no raids.
Class trait points - this is one of the most stupid implemented things gating trait points behind zones $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$, the old class system was far superior bring it back.
Virtues - this needs a revamp, who wants to spend another 100000 hrs getting virtues to max per toon?
I really really agree with this. I'd much prefer to pay a subscription and have access to the whole game as it is in live (with the exception, perhaps of expansions and little kibble things like cosmetics), than to have the disjointed experience of paying for tiny little increments of it at a time. As the system is now, I'll never actually have the whole game.
Yeah! DAoC has little grind. It only has 50 levels. But then again you tend to level in the battlegrounds, RvR which is easy until about level 20 when there are twinked characters who only play that battle ground to wave their ePeens. Then you have champion levels which start about level 30, 15 of them... and master levels, which start around level 30 or 40. (I have an artifact staff I'm using on a level 39 bg toon. No I don't play that much)There isn't a lot of grind for equipment. Its pretty new. It just turned 14.
Then the games I'm watching that are coming out are more FPS not MMO's. But thats just from watching GnS.Seriously? Are you using majors? Are you buying them off the AH? <<grind for goldQuote:

Are you using the greaters you get from the essense dude? <<grind bb's or training instance.
Are you using whatever drops in your lap? <<no point as you can get fairly decent gear just playing and not need a whole lot unless you are pvmp'ing or want to do RC/DoS t2c.Yup. So there is no grind unless you want to get top stuff... which you can pretty much do without unless you pvmp.Quote:

It was far superior because you had to... uhm... wait... you got 3 legendary traits and 5 class traits, right? You got skills by uhm... grinding levels, no? And you got no skills past 83 and those last 3 skills were mostly improved versions of skills you already had at 75. None. Zero. And then, especially if you were a class like Mini, you had to find a bard to switch traits, for example, healing or dps. Yup, far superior. [note: I was never a fan of the trees. The idea of trees but not what we have. So don't go there]Quote:

Or we can do away with Virtues altogether. I normally do not go out and do virtues. Well not since Western Gondor. My friend and I circled a few spots to 'grind' corsairs. Kinnies said that we didn't need to grind cuz there were enough corsairs in the content. They were right. So now we just do quests and bb and skirm and kill things when we feel like killing things, Cuz sometimes, as grandmothers of 2, (different age groups) we REALLY need to kill things. That is not grind, fellas.Quote:

I don't play every day like I used to. I have 4 toons with one imbued LI each. I need 6 emp scrolls for my hunter, which she is using currently. My cappy has a half finished LI, her halberd. My guard is way behind 3/34 on every legendary. She only logs in to do the training instance once a day for the hunter. My taxi usually doesn't even do that much. She farms mats when I feel like killing things. My friend has had a horrible 2015 and plays very infrequently. Ya know, when we play together we are never grinding... because we are playing together killing things, or questing... killing things. She lives on the east coast. I live in Los Angeles. I wish we could duo the training instance. not so we can farm faster but cuz we would have fun together. That takes a lot of the grind out of the 'grind'.
Been there, done that, on two mains - with empty deed logs, give or take a few cumbersome deeds here and there which I just chip away at now and then. And quite a few alts with more than half empty deed logs (maxed five virtues etc).
Leveled them all the traditional way too.
Makes absolutely no difference what-so-ever to this latest end game grind though.
Let's finish this here :)

Can't get to Page 29, it redirects to Page 28. Is it a bug or a page-specific ban? Curious...
Let's all tell Turbine that we love the grind by grinding to get this thread to 29 actual pages? :p
Must be an example of complaining about nonexistent issues and grind I only have 18 pages.
Edit: opps 19 now with my post:)
How else do you bind people to your game and earn money from it? Of course it´s grind. The funny thing is people complain about it - why even bother with the grind? There is no end-game! There is nothing on which to use or challenge yourself with, where you would need this grind for.
So basically people complain, there is no content, keep doing the grind, for no content and no end-game. Funny really how Turbine managed that.
There is a new raid coming next year and since we won't need to build another LI for our characters, we could pretty much start doing the grind now to be prepared when those new challenges come. And no, Turbine might earn money from some people who are willing to pay to avoid, but most people do not find the prices reasonable and are not willing to pay such an absurd amount of money/TP for only 1 LI. The money Turbine is gaining from those willing to pay are probably much more inferior than the amount of money Turbine could get from those people actually leaving the game.
But I definetely don't support the idea that the prices should be decreased only on the Store, but also Marks/Medallions, Stars of Merit, etc and etc, since there are those that are willing to pay a sub but not willing to pay money for LI grind and will leave if the grind is really hard for them.
