Location: I inhabit a random nook on the western end of the US but because I have a neigh unquenchable desire for money ('cause I like to eat and a roof over the head makes food taste better) I spend most of the day off at work. Playstyle: PvE mostly, willing to spice things up a bit with some light RP. Casual in most manners, decently laid-back, although I'll log in a ton of hours in a week. As for PvP, something I enjoy in minimal quantities. Grouping however is most definitely desired as often as possible.

Casual is another keyword that factors significantly into some crazy formula that...its late and I'm clearly delusional. Point is I'm looking for a casual group of people to screw around with. Although this is my first MMORPG, I have a lot of RPG gaming experience and a firm understanding of the tactics involved.

We know our classes and what they are capable of doing and efficient at game play. We research information on the forums on how to do things better and learn from others. My hunter participates in a fellowship without drawing aggro or pulling a Leeroy Jenkins. We are heavy crafters but also love going with other good, reliable adult players. We don't roleplay, but have a general understanding of LOTR. We don't mind helping out lower level players since we have lower level alts. We both have mic/headsets.

What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): A kin should be mostly adults, who are kind and considerate towards everyone. Cursing doesn't bother us as long as it's not directly aimed at hurting another person. The random bleep is not offensive.

Equality is a must. No "core" or separated friends who only do for themselves and leave the rest out in the cold to fend for themselves.

Kin should be active and with enough high level players for raids and hard quests. Prefer to be in a kin that uses voice chat.

Can't stand selfishness and greed. Please no arguing over loot. But, multiple opportunities should be given. If a player doesn't get something they wished for, then kin should help that person again at another time to help get said item. (Main example, lvl 45 items)

Prefer to have a strong leader, and few officers who know how to get things done and regular planned events that involve everyone eligible to be invited and included. No special treatment towards anyone, all are equal. Above all, should be fun. The occasional goofing off is ok but we like to get things done, and yet not have it feel like a "job."

I work full time and play weeknights and weekends, so a four night a week raid schedule isn’t something I can do. I’d like an organized guild that schedules some events for its members, both adventuring and socializing. Immersion is very important to me, so a lot of RL chatter is a big let down. I game to get lost in the world I play in, not talk about what is on TV or who made someone mad at work that day. Short tale: my kinship disbanded and merged and not sure about the merge so looking for a new one. I'm more than glad to help, I like crafting, I don't care about leveling fast, I like exploring, I can try some RP and I like Monster Play also. I would like to find a kinship with a friendly, helpful attitude meaning with this that I'm one of those people who help even if I don't need it so I'm looking for the same attitude from a kinship. Reasons for recruiting me? Umm i'm awesome XD. Really though, i'm a mature player but i also like having fun and joking around. I personally don't have a big issue with language and i can't guarantee i'll never swear but tell me not to do it and i'll try. I've done some "hardcore" gaming in other games, i've lead teams and guilds, i've organized and ran forums(thought i'm not wonderful at it) I'm relatively smart so... gimme something to do and even if i don't know how at first i could probably figure it out fast enough and then i'll see what i can do. My playtimes are relatively open, during summer i can virtually any time, but generally i play from like.... 7-8ish until whenever i feel like getting off, generally like 2ish, though sometimes as late as... not sleeping :D. The perfect kinship would have above all a very "together" community feel -- I want to be able to feel free to say what I'm thinking or ask for what I need without feeling like I'm making myself a nuisance. I want to KNOW the people in my kinship, enough that I can tell who they are by their personalities.

While I'd certainly be willing to join an OOC kinship that can fit the community bill, I'd consider it a huge bonus if the kinships were also RP-oriented and that the members knew the difference between IC and OOC (i.e, a kinship full of people RPing characters that were all the bestest of friends gets tiresome after a while -- rich roleplay requires drama, intrigue, and confrontation).

I've gotten to level 29 mostly by solo'ing, so I'm pretty good with my Hunter skills; however, when I have fellowed up for tougher quests (Ancient Story, Book II, etc) I like to try to help keep the group organized (everybody is watching somebody's back and has somebody watching their back in turn), and make sure we all work as a team (i.e. "click GREED, not need", "[maneuver option:] click RED", etc. I type pretty fast, so I'm usually the one to get it out there in time). Also, I'm a hopeless LOTRO shop/drop/craft-aholic (Expert Tailor [and prospector/forrester]) and always keep myself decked out in the best gear I can get/find/buy, and I generally have a stash of resources & spare tailored items in the vault...so I could be a valuable asset for helping kinsmen stay geared up in medium armour or loaded up with ingots etc.

What kind of kinship you are looking for: I've been invited to join a couple of kinships, but lost interest in them pretty quickly as there was never anyone online and/or interested in fellowing up for gameplay & questing (while I'm definitely a "casual player", I just don't see the point of a kinship if everybody is on only one or two times a week and don't communicate with each other?). I work days, so I'm mostly on evenings & weekends a few times a week (i.e. high pressure leveling and mandatory hours per week won't work for me), so I'd like to find a like-minded/like-scheduled group interested in reaching some goals & having some fun exploring this beatiful & fascinating game along the way.

Ok, I'm really new at this but I've been waiting a long, long time for a game of this caliber to come out..lucky me..It's my favorite book and by some miracle the movie turned out to be my favorite also. I wonder if there is a plan to go VR with it as well? Anyway, I bought the game and have been playing around with it for about a month or so and I've come to the conclusion I need to find a kinship. A quality one.
I tried to explain some of my interests in my characters bio, but I don't think any one reads those things. No matter, It's there anyway.
My main character's name is Ian Budleaf and I tried to stay true to character development as best I could. I like RP, so I figure my character really doesn't know that much about middle-earth, outside of Archet, anyway. What Budleaf does know, is he likes music, dance, song, a smoke once and a while and some good story telling. He wants to help the free people of his and neighboring lands to fight back this darkness that is spreading into our very lives and homes!
Hopefully there is a kinship out there that can appreciate my efforts in making this rp experience as true to the world of Eriador as possible.

Been playing video games for 30 yrs...maybe longer. My favorite games for the longest time were the Origin Ultima games. Tried the Ultima online for a while, but it seemed like everyone was more interested in killing each other than moving forward as a team. Played the Balders Gate games and The Neverwinter Nights games also. When Elder Scrolls IV came out with Oblivion I thought it would have been a great MMORPG, too, but one can only solo in that game.

I've been part of Flames of the West since pretty much the beginning, and the group there is fabulous, it's just that I can't seem to find enough people online ever. Hi! I am currently a member of a kinship, however during the past few weeks I have been only one of two players on. Most of the players who are remaining are on PST, that is 3 hours different from mine, also limiting the amount of time we can play together. I am willing to move servers (as long as the server isn't deserted or anything) and I'm willing to re-roll as a different class if it would suit the kinship better. I am very good at the playing MMOs (meaning that I pick up on the advanced skills in addition to the average skills, things like keeping enemies facing you, protecting weaker classes etc). I like to participate on forums, but I'm not one of those people that has to post 30 times a day. And I'm not high maintenance, I may need people's help with certain quests, but I won't be harassing guildmates for help with everything I do.

A kinship that doesn't get mad at some RP in-game and on the boards, but at the same time this isn't an expectation (don't laugh, I've been in both types before in other games). I am not interested in a group that requires in-game voice chat (ventrilo, teamspeak or built-in) for everything, that's fine for raiding, but I won't be on voice chat when I'm wandering through a zone doing quests. Also, I'd like a kinship that raids or is at least associated with a group that raids. While I don't really have the time for raiding right now (and of course I'm too low a level), I will eventually be interested in this.

Looking for a kinship on any server. I don't have a character at this point. I played the free trial on Silverlode. But I now have founder pricing so I have to restart. So I can play on any server. I am waiting on picking a server until I find the right group.

A little about me. I played AC2 (my first MMO and my first love). I played until they announced the shutdown. I played on TD. Had a level 69 enchanter, was itching to hit 70. But the shutdown ended that hope. I played in the guild started by Confluxus. Hg, Ludacris, Hadorak were some of my mates ....maybe you know some of them, maybe you don't. They were a great bunch of guys, always helpful.

After AC2 I went to EVE. It was cool for a bit, but never really grabbed me. Anyway I have been MMO-less since I stopped playing EVE in April.

I am 41 years old, married with children. I live in Connecticut. I play odd hours. Sometimes at night, sometimes in the morning, weekends, weekdays. Doesn't matter. I am self employed so I have a somewhat flexible schedule. I rarely play on Friday and Saturday nights, except maybe late after 11PM Eastern.

MMO games I’ve played: WoW (highest lvl 41 hunter) and City of Heroes (highest lvl 9). I'm not a huge MMO guy because I've never actively looked for a clan, so I've been at the mercy of my friends, who usually all find something else to do.

The Rundown: Basically, I love Tolkien's works, and I bought a lifetime subscription to this game, so I figured I'd make it worth my while. All of my other friends bailed out when they learned PVP wouldn't be in the game much. I'm really just looking to make a few new online friends, and play when I have some free time. I'm not opposed to setting dates for quests and such ahead of time, but I don't want to get thirty lashes if life intercedes. :)

In-game, I really like the captain class, so I'd like to stick with that if possible, or at least take a role that isn't pure support. I find if I try to do pure support or debuff, I usually can't juggle all the spells very well. That said, I like fulfilling a secondary healing role and lending support when I'm not whomping on a monster.

I'd love to find a casual, mature kinship that doesn't feel the need to powerlevel to have fun. I bought a beautiful game, so there are times where I might want to just enjoy it for what it is. :)

Playstyle: I tend to try and get on for at least an hour or two a night (but can go longer if things are getting interesting). I consider myself an experienced MMORPG player - been playing for years. I'm not into heavy RP, but can handle a light RP kin with no problem. However, if the heavy RP group were kind and patient I would most likely be willing to learn - at the very least I am respectful. I am all for helping people out with quests if they are courteous about it, but reserve the right to say no - and will have no part of power leveling. I enjoy kin gatherings and what not, but what I really need is a group from which to draw groups from. I am finding that it is getting harder and harder to find groups. Incidentally, I would really be interested in a kin that has a house (presently, I have a house in the dwarf neighborhood - near my Superior workbench).

I am not about the loot, but about the experience in the quest. I am a quest-a-holic so even when they are grey'd out, I still have this unyielding urge to finish them. I am friendly, never involved in drama or conflict, and an honest player with a moderate sense of humor.

What kind of kinship you are looking for:
I have been in LARGE ones (I always seem to feel lost in the crowd). I have been in a few startups (They never seem to get off the ground) SO, I think a medium sized, very active, RP guild would be best. I would prefer to be in a very active RP kinship, but that seems a tall order.

What kind of kinship you are looking for: Something more on the casual side. I'd like to get to know more gamers in LotRO and build a community, learn tricks and tips and the like. Playstyle: I do enjoy grouping but have been mostly solo since I started playing a few weeks back. Soloing is kind of tough on a Lore Master, even with the pet. Of course, it's only going to get harder from here on in as the missions have begun to ramp up in difficulty, a most frustrating situation when your only solution is to hope to come across a pick-up fellowship also working on the quests you need to complete. Crafting is interesting but I'm concentrating on one at a time (Scholar first, thank you) so I don't get too overwhelmed and feel that I'm not seeing that progress bar move fast enough.

MMO games you’ve played: This is my second. I was with City of Heroes for 3 years, starting with the first wave of closed beta invites. At the time of my leaving the game (December 2007), I was part of the Legion of Valor on the Victory server.

What kind of kinship you are looking for? A large kinship with players around my level that I can help out with their quests and they can help me with mine. I am more than willing to help out a fellow kin member (or members), especially if we all have similar quests to do. One thing I want to be totally upfront with is that I recently was in a recruit status with a guild on Landroval. While the social, non-gaming aspect of the kinship was great, I opted not to be a full member as there were so few players in my level area.

I discovered LOR 2 weeks ago and have created a character on Vylia. Arrowen is now a level 19 minstrel and would like to join a kinship - that is if you need one more healer...

So far I have played mostly solo, though I grouped a few times to assist others. I have taken a taste to the RP (monster play) because of the group interaction which Arrowen is missing right now.

I am 43, lead a busy life outside of MMOs in EST. Still playing WOW (and still enjoying it).

im experienced MMO and roleplayer. Id like to join a serious, mature, intelligent Kinship, perhaps one that is mostly RP. Im not a power gamer, im laid back and like to have fun more than play the game for the games sake.

As a kinship leader in an active, growing kinship, I wonder how effective this thread really is. I have to cull through pages of posts to find any possible recruits on my server. IMHO, this is a great concept, but there should be one of these threads in each server, rather then all the servers together on this post. Just my opinion. I would strongly urge anyone posting on this thread to also post in the server specific kinships forum for the server on which they play.

All you really have to do is look at those who've posted since the last time you were here.

Some servers have such a thread, start a thread like this for your server if it doesn't have one.

I have been an officer in a guild in WoW. Not that I am looking for that kind of position here, but I know how to act to keep a guild/kinship in good standing on a server.

I am not looking for a raid-heavy group. Just a casual kinship that enjoys playing together and having fun. It is a game , after all. If it isn't fun and a break from daily life, I don't see the point. :)

I'm looking for a kinship that active enough to help with quests, but laid back enough to have fun. Mature players with an interest in Tolkien lore and literature. Friendly people who are good to hang out with... the people I'd hang out with in a pub or a bookstore in real life.

In "real life," I am a 43-year-old writer, very happily married, and living in Atlanta. In the game, I am a 42 level Man Champion, with house and horse.

Seeking a kinship that follows along with Moondragon's post above (on the very first page of this forum). Please read it.

With a few exceptions:
1. I am in an American time zone seeking a kin that is either European based (english speaking) or has a lot of Euro's in it (no disrespect intended to any National's). I am on during the day, and late night (for American time zones) raids and other game play, does not work for me. I realize that the European market has a different version of the software and servers (which I can not be a part of) but I am hoping that I might find a kin fit within the software and serveres that I must use.
2. I do enjoy PVP if it is organized and a bit more tactical than a bunch of teenagers running around "killing things...dude". Ditto for raids. In fact, I can't really see the need for a kin other than these end-game options as I got to level 50 on my own just fine.
3. I am in the 35+ age group category (my elf is *much* older), but that isn't a whole lot different than Moondragon's.
4. If all works out for me (lvl 50 LM), the wife *might* join as well at a later date (lvl 40 minstrel) and she is Dutch. No, not an American with Dutch parents/grandparents. A *real* dutch elf-maiden!
5. Finding a good kin fit will probably prevent this elf's life from being vaporized into cyberspace since there isn't much for the elf to do anymore except wait for the Pumkin Ale to come out each season at the Prancing Pony.

Never done RP for an online game, did it back in the day with the paper and dice (yes, did the Middle-Earth RPG), so dunno, not sure. I work strange hours so my play times stink and are rather staggered. At the moment, I'm on the trial version, am really enjoying it, but I know, even if the game is cool, but it's all play by yourself, I'll probably quit. Not sure, early in the game so to speak. I 'think' I'm an easy-going guy, and play games for fun, but I'm not above going postal on an annoying player and pking them ingame (can you do that in Lotro?) ^^. Looking for quality over quantity. I am looking for a casual kinship for socializing, grouping, PvMP, and RPing. I have always enjoyed a 'group of friends' guild more than a hardcore raiding 'dkp' guild. If I raid, it's because I enjoy the company more than anything having to do with drops or loot. As such, forced schedules, forced raids, or anything forced is out of the question. My time online is staggered to say the least, and scarce at times. This is a double edged sword, as nobody wants someone who is too casual, and I don't like playing without a guild to talk to at the least.

Also: My wife is also looking for a guild, and will join as well. She is playing a Captain. She plays a bit less than I do, but together we are an unstoppable team...
