Is it Melien?
Nope not Melian,
very good guess though
hmmm... what's her name... Nessa?
nope guess again:)
is it Estë?
Correct!
Este the Gentle, wife of Lorien (Irmo), valar of dreams.
Dwelt together in the gardens of Lorien in Valinor.
Ok LA, your turn:)
ok... I'm rather busy right now, but I'll write one sometime today.
Here it is, sorry for the wait:
Come, I seek a bargain with thee,
For the least of all these,
Of the great you'll have three,
For the least of all these,
You'll have friendship with me.
This is a rewording of Sauron asking the dwarves for the "least of rings" in return for three of the dwarf ones, yes?
Yep - beat me to it, Bluthorn. :)
Sauron's "least of rings" referring to the One Ring taken by Bilbo while in Thorin's company; the true nature of which ring Sauron assumed the dwarves had no knowledge, but might have information as to its whereabouts.
you guys got it. I was describing the message the Mouth of Sauron gave to Dain Ironfoot. The message was Sauron's.
ok Bluthorn or Lind, your up
Ack. I'm lousy at coming up with riddles. Well, I'll work on it anyway if you folks promise not to laugh. Too hard. :)
I promise I wont laugh:)
get to it!
Here's my offering:
Tall we two stand,
Silent Guardians over our land,
We guard a kingdom long diminished,
Against the Enemy that should have been finished
that would be the Argonath. I suppose it's my turn now... I might be able to write one today, if not, I'll get one done this weekend.
sorry I didn't do one guys... I've been procrastinating and putting it off. I should get a chance to do one today.
here it is:
Hear this noise: loud, strong, clear.
The very sound of it puts enemies to fear,
It foretells a stalker, a snow-troll if you will,
Hunting with his hands, intent upon his kill.
A Snow Beast roaring? Or am I being too literal?
Could it be Caradhras? As in when it is trying to get rid of unwanted travelers on it's land? See the Fellowship of the Ring book, sometime after the Chapter 'The Ring Goes South' if you have no idea what I'm talking about.
a glorious 5 day weekend ahhh
now back at work (/cry)
well at least there's a riddle to ponder
and an interesting riddle at that hehe.... im thinking something having to do with Helm Hammerhand, wasn't he compared with a snow-troll? and hunting with his hands- he's famous for a killing blow with his hands :)
just a stab in the dark, probably not right
edit: ok did a little research to confirm, and yes it does have something to do with Helm. The sound you refer to is the blowing of the horn of the Hornburg, that Helm Hammerhand blew to spook his enemies before he went out on his hunts, to kill with his bare hands. He dressed in white which earned him the snow-troll comparison :)
cool riddle!
