Hello! Heads up that we are extending the Midsummer Festival through July 11th, now turning off at 3am Eastern on the 12th. Have fun!
Summer Festival has now been merged into Farmer's Faire. Content in both festivals will be available at the same time. Seasonal instances will always be available too. They are permanently added to the instance finder, ready to be unlocked when it is time. They have also stated on the stream that there will be a couple of new things to look forward to. We will have to wait to find out more.
We have made some adjustments of this weekend's bonus for Shadowfax and Treebeard:
Treebeard now has +10% Virtue Experience for 8/5 - 8/9@3am instead of the XP Boost
Shadowfax now has +75% Experience gain for the weekend 8/5 - 8/9@3am.
Isn't the 75% experience boost for Shadowfax simply the usual 50% with the bonus 25% added to it? So that Shadowfax is being treated like all the other servers while Treebeard (properly) is getting a different bonus to substitute for the experience point bonus?
Any chance we could get an extension of the Farmer's Faire as well? There's so many deeds that involve difficult quests that are usually dependent on the RNG having a good day. :P It's also back to school time and the Tale of the Ship Wrecked Mariner is two weeks away. Appreciate the consideration!
Farmers' Faire is one of my most favorite festivals, but I wasn't able to play it much this year. Sad.
An extension would be very much appreciated. Far too much RL happening for any real amount of play time during festival time again. Sigh!
I'd hope they'd extend it at least a little solely because of their decision to release the Mordor expansion on Anor mid-festival. We had less time to do the instances at cap for the rewards (since we had to gain 10 levels with a -60% XP debuff), and had to split our time between leveling with new content (that we're only going to have for 4 months) and grinding festivals for rewards.
I asked at the end of the Friday stream because I joined too late. So, let this be a lesson everyone, get those requests in early! I understand them wanting to combine festivals after adding a new one. However, when you want to grind festivals for all the rewards I submit that Midsummer has the most extraneous running around, practically an IL/AA run :P. That combined with RL made me sadly skip it this year so I was really hoping to get more festival time :(.
This probably isn't the right place to post this, but I have a new suggestion on how to divide festival activities. I'll concede Midsummer required a lot of work for the devs, definitely more than any other festival, so it can stay by itself. My preference would be to split Farmer's Faire quests between the Summer and Fall Festivals. All fishing quests from Farmers would go to Summer along with the Egg Scramble (Eggs are harvested year round anyway), and the rest would go to Fall(also historically called the Harvestmath), the convenient swift travel horses would pull double duty. That would give the Fall/Harvest festival a shorter-than-daily repeatable quest with the Mushroom Hunt.
If you choose to keep things as they are however, consider extending the Farmers' Faire initial timeframe similar to the Yuletide festival because of the RL 'distractions' I previously mentioned :P Thank you to everyone viewing this post, developers and gamers!
I do understand the wish for extended festivals, but I also appreciate, that Lotro does not change on every festival his schedule. Sometimes it makes sense to change due to an extended downtime as last years midsummer festival.
Second, I don't understand such wishes few days before an ending. Do you have the wish, that Lotro just for some extra days creates a seperate update for this only?
Is there any way to make this thread locked to any discussion or replies? It would be great to have just a list of all events, past present and future in one thread with no other posts.
Please add the Curator here (on the sticky calendar).
I keep hearing you mention that the dates are online in the stream, but whatever you're quoting is not easy to find. I can't find it. This calendar here is easy to find.
Did the poor Curator get sick and have to stay away from work?
Quote from The LOTRO Beacon Issue 224:
"The Curator is back for a limited time! The Curator is available in-game through November 2nd."
We all started using "through" for dates to avoid confusion and yet here we are on November 2nd with the Curator on an early break.
Perhaps putting her appearances on the Events Schedule as requested might help avoid this kind of error.
Thanks.
For events that have a regular schedule, it'd be nice to have an in game calendar available, please.
Heads up that we have made an adjustment to create a bonus for this weekend:
This weekend from now until 3am Eastern on Monday is a +10% Virtue XP Boost. +30% on Shadowfax
There will be a VIP Event Boost starting at 10am Eastern on November 24th that runs until 3am Eastern on the 29th. Treebeard will get a Crafting XP boost for that weekend.
Could we get a clarification on that -- do we get this 10% weekend instead of the 20% weekend that was planned for mid-december, or what exactly is going to happen to the 20% weekend? We had planned for that weekend, so the current 10% event is not a great replacement as we weren't even able to adjust our plans.
I will be updating the calendar in the new year, but here are a few additions:
Curator Returns: 12/24@10am to 1/4/22@3am
25% XP Boost (Treebeard nothing, Shadowfax +75%): 12/30@10am to 1/3@3am
