Looking for elven kinship on firefoot
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Landathradon and Elvish
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits): 33
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): Firefoot
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): Eastern Time Zone; from GA here
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): I solo more than i'd like and i prefer to start doing more groups, enjoy PvE, would like to try Raids, etc.; casual player but I am on weekly and usually on the weekend (night owl too obviously), i also craft on this character
MMO games you’ve played: Too many...... but only LOTRO now. I used to be on EVE Online (was a CEO of a pretty big corp) and Everquest years ago....
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm laid back and mature and looking for a similar mature (preferably adult) kinship of elvish players........ my home in game is in Ered Luin and it would be great to have a kinship house in that area. My only character is a Rune-Keeper. I'd like to experience the game fully and i've worked through many quests on this character, although i'm barely into the main storyline it seems. In the North Barrows at the moment...... but headed to trollshaws and rivendell next, eventually Moria.......
[Laurelin] Looking for a friendly, little kinship
Hi everyone!
I started playing LOTRO about two days ago now and obviously I'm not a very experienced player of this game.
However, I have always been a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings universe and played many different MMOs, so basically I am a fan of and experienced in about everything this game consists of. ;)
I just never got around to actually playing this game up until recently. But now that I have played it I must say that I absolutely love it!
This caused me to actually go to the next retailer and get that Mithril Edition of the game (which upgrades my account to a premium account and so on) the next day and really made me want to properly get to know the game and maybe even spend several years in this extraordinarily detailed version of Middle-Earth!
The only thing I really miss when playing this game is proper company - a guild, or in this case a kinship.
I'd really love to join a nice and friendly, little group who can help me out here and there (since I'm new to the game) and who simply enjoy doing things as a team (like raids).
But before any of you send me a PM, saying I could join, please take your time and read through my proper introduction, I'd really appreciate it:
My main character's name is Kaiborn and he is an Elf Hunter.
My real name, however, is Kai (yeah, obvious connection to my character's name, right? :P).
I'm 20 years old and live in Germany (the timezone would be GMT+1). I have lived here my entire life, but about 99% of my family are English, meaning my English should be quite understandable. ;)
As stated in the title, I play on Laurelin and I am looking for a kinship on this exact server.
Since I am new to the game I haven't really developed a playstyle as such yet, but in most MMOs I was very much into PvE and occasionally also played PvP. I'd also be very interested in some RP though.
I have played MMOs like World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 1 & 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, DC Universe Online and (for a very short time) Star Trek Online.
Now the very important stuff: What kind of kinship am I exactly looking for and why should I be taken?
Well, the thing is that I am not yet very skilled in combat and so on, considering how new I really am to the game, but in my opinion "skill" goes beyond just playing the game effectively.
I think the most important thing in any "community" of gamers is being friendly, offering help (if possible) and especially team spirit!
So my answer would be that I'm looking for a nice group of mature people, who love LOTRO for what it is: a fantastic game that brings people together.
If you think I fit into your kinship (which shouldn't be too big though, I prefer knowing all the members), feel free to send me a PM or contact me ingame.
I am really looking forward to playing with like-minded players! :)
Cheers, Kai
Looking for a good F2P Kinship
Your name, Ken
character name and race (if known): Dwarf named Goremetto
Age: 49
Preferred server(s), if any. I have 5 characters created on Vilya, but will move to any server for a good kin.
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):Missouri Central zone, play at odd hours
Playstyle. I like solo or group play, my play-hours make me hardcore. I would be involved in crafting.
MMO games you’ve played: GW2, GW, Asheron's Call, EQ2, SWG, EVE, WoW, Runescape, the list is longer.
and I have a little experience with LOTRO.
Why kinships should be interested in you: Very social, actively participate in chat, have Vent & TS3 clients. Very experienced gamer.
What kind of kinship you are looking for.: I'm looking for a good kinship that can best help me to F2P LOTRO, help me complete deeds and farm Turbine Points.
After trying Guild Wars 2, I feel somewhat disappointed with ArenaNet's business model, with respects to the buying and selling of game currency and the gem store. I have been a guild leader in the past and I have a guild in GW2. I'm debating on whether or not I should focus more on LOTRO, I like their f2p offering better and I know that Turbine is a good company to deal with. I don't think I can afford to continue playing GW2 while there is a legit way to buy game gold; at least Turbine hasn't degenerated to that kind of business strategy.
Seeking Kinship - Landroval or Brandywine preferred
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
I have multiple characters on a few different servers that I've built up over about 5 years. Levels range from 15 to 85, and everything in between. My mains tend to be hunters, but I've played all classes, and have a few favourite non-hunter classes I like to play.
Age: 43
Preferred server(s), if any: Landroval, Brandywine, although will consider other servers if there's a truly awesome kin
Location.: BC Canada (Pacific time zone)
Playstyle:
General - I am an experienced player who takes the time/effort to learn the classes/roles I play, but I'm not a snob about it, and I'm always happy to help others and give advice. I have experience in all aspects of the game (raids, skirms, instances, etc) and am good at both leading and following in groups. I'm a strategic, intelligent player and can be a real asset when it counts, and I'm a great right-hand for any raid leader. I do most of my leveling solo just because it's quicker for me (many quests I've done dozens of times, LOL), but I do enjoy grouping and helping others with quests, deeds, etc. I really enjoy tougher instances and raids, especially with a group that knows how to play their class and pays attention/listens to the raid leader, but I'm not a hardcore raider and I'm not hung up on end-game content. I like a balance. I would love a kin that does semi-regularly run raids, though. I still haven't had a chance to do Draigoch and a few others, and that's one of the things I'm hoping a new kin can offer.
RP - I really enjoy RP, but I'm not hardcore about it. I grew up playing table-top RPGs like D&D and AD&D, and that's how I approach RP in LotRO; playing as my character would. I prefer RP that is realistic and immersive, rather than just all over the place. For example, I dislike RPing with people who break the RP atmosphere by playing aggro-range and running into the middle of an orc camp, or saying things that no sensible character would say. When RPing I will go so far as sneaking around, hiding behind bushes, etc. because I know that's what my character would do - proceed with caution. My character has no concept of aggro range. For that reason I do tend to RP more solo, but I would be happy to find a group that does have an immersive approach to RP so I have that option from time to time. All of my characters have backgrounds and personalities, some really well-developed.
Crafting - I've only recently started to get into crafting, and I enjoy it. I have an Eastemnet grand master jeweler and an Eastemnet grand master tailor on Landroval, and several other crafting classes I'm gradually leveling. Haven't started leveling my Brandywine crafters but plan to. I'm not hardcore about crafting, but when I feel like it I'll knock down a few levels. I'm happy to make things for kinmates if I have time/resources, but can't always guarantee I'll be able to at any specific time, and I do have boundaries about how much crafting I'll do for others, as I like to have time to actually play. :)
PVP - I'm not a hardcore PVPer, but I do enjoy playing creep-side from time to time, and I have some creeps on most of the servers I've played on. I don't tend to play much freep-side, but would definitely be open to it if there was a good raid planned.
MMO games you’ve played: LotRO, SWtOR, Secret World, Runescape
Why kinships should be interested in you:
I am a laid back, helpful person who is mature and drama-free. I am really outgoing and am good at helping make shy people feel welcome and included. I'm experienced with LoTRO and I've got a pretty good bank of knowledge that I'm happy to share with others, including best spots to do slayer deeds, how to handle a war-steed, which fishing spots are good, and everything in between. I am a leader by nature, so I'm the sort of person who will put events on the calendar when I have time, and get people together to bang out a few skirms or whatever. I've managed some good in-game events, including "just for fun" parties, educational/training groups, casual instance groups, etc. I am a really supportive, generous person who is happy to drop everything and help a kin-mate when needed. I enjoy good conversation, and love to discuss just about any topic. I have a genuine interest in people, who they are, what they're into, and I love hearing about other people's life experience and perspectives. I am respectful of rules, while not being afraid to speak up if I think something is unjust, and help improve policies and approaches. I also have some IRL skills I'm happy to share with others (writing, graphics, illustration, web, etc).
What kind of kinship you are looking for:
#1 I want a kin that is truly mature. Not just in terms of ages allowed, but in terms of outlook and behaviour. I enjoy playing with people of all ages, but it's important to me that I play with people who are mature enough to have developed some social skills and know the value of avoiding drama and being good to each other. I think it's also great if people have some life experience, and are able to relate to IRL issues such as making a living, job stress, etc. mainly because I don't want conversation to be totally shallow. I like to be able to have intelligent conversations about mature themes such as mortality, family dynamics, critical thinking, media literacy and whatever else people want to discuss, and I'd just get bored if conversation revolved solely around TV shows or in-game activities. I like getting to know people and building real friendships, and being a support to each other beyond just gameplay at times. I'm not looking for a therapy group but I do want a kin that respects the humanity of each other and has some depth of character.
It's important to me that any kin I'm a part of is aware of and serious about the concept of "safe spaces" (i.e. no sexism, racism, homophobia, bullying tolerated). I am not interested in a kin that condones use of language such as "that is so gay" or "what a &&&&&&" or "I totally &&&&& that goblin camp". Swearing is totally fine with me, I personally can sometimes swear like a truck driver, but hurtful or oppressive language is not ever OK with me. At the same time, I dislike over-moderating and prefer spaces where people are trusted to be good to each other, not browbeaten into it.
It is extremely important to me that the kin I join is well-managed, fair and respectful of everyone as equals. I dislike hierarchies, pecking orders and cliques, and I like a good solid infrastructure where issues are handled fairly and maturely, without a lot of drama. One where officers serve the kin, and not the other way around where the officers put themselves above everyone else.
While I'm not looking for a hardcore raiding kin, it is important to me that I have reasonable access to end-game content and raids.
I would like a kin that's fairly large and active, but not so large that it's hard to get to know people. It would also be awesome if they host events on their server, and run fun kin events from time to time. I like a kin that wants to make a name for itself and be social beyond the immediate group.
Voice chat is important to me, too. Although I don't always feel like being in voice chat, it's nice to have that option and it makes it more fun/easy to get to know people. I prefer non-game voice chat (Vent, Mumble) to in-game chat, just because in-game voice chat tends to have audio levels all over the map.
I would like a kin that welcomes all LotRO races and classes, as I have many alts and I'd like to bring at least a few into whichever kin I join.
Thanks for reading all this! :)
Is There a LoTRO Group fo Me?
I would be happy to list all of the standard race/name/etc, except that I am new to the game (but older and not stupid), and the highest level character I have is level 28. Thus, it would not be that difficult to start anew on any server.
I am on the east coast of the US, however most of my playtime is 8 AM to 5 PM. So a European server would be fine.
Tell me if this exists. A kinship with people who are not in a race to reach the level cap, but are interested in exploring what the entire game has to offer. A kinship, that when it groups or raids doesn't run amok in an effort to finish in a record time. A kinship with people who actually loot corpses. A kinship who puts up with someone who constantly makes bad jokes. A kinship that, should I have a question, actually offering more than 2 seconds for a direct answer, but rather willing to take a minute out of their "busy" raiding schedule to talk. A kinship that makes sure no one is left behind during an encounter.
I am fairly intelligent (ABD to a PhD). I am an old fart (50). And I just seek some good people who enjoy mmorpgs the way I do. Laid back, easy pulling, time to go to the bathroom if necessary (I AM 50 :p). I like to solo 90% of the time, but when I group, I like to feel that everyone actually cares about each others' well-being.
Is there such a place? I would rather adjust some of my game time, than what I'm looking for. Anyone? Buehler?
P.S. I am ViP.
P.P.S. Mega-kins need not apply
P.P.P.S. I don't have a microphone. Live with it.
Looking to possibly start over
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Age (some kinships have real life age limits): 26
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): No preferred server, but I currently have characters on Silverlode (Main is 84 Hunter named Gilanna), Landroval would be nice, but honestly, no preference.
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): Ohio, EST (now that it is EST again!)
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): I solo mostly, sometimes duo or up to a 3-man with some friends, but I'm looking to expand my playing, so I'm interested in grouping and possibly raiding. I'm a hardcore crafter and prefer to be self-reliant (on Silverlode I have a Master of every crafting guild except Cook).
MMO games you’ve played: LOTRO (obviously), I beta'd STO back in the day and SWTOR, but neither of those captivated me the way LOTRO has.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I'm pretty helpful, especially when it comes to any crafting needs. I'm a little quiet and more of a follower than a leader (unless I'm in a situation where I'm very comfortable), but I like to be sociable in a kinship.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm looking for a slightly structured social/casual kinship. Kin events are definitely a plus, friendly atmosphere. I don't prefer required voice chat (except for grouping of course). I like a lively and humorous kinship.
Please send me a PM or in-game mail (if on Silverlode) to Gilanna. Thanks!
Looking for Kinship on SnowBourn
Your name : Eric
Character name and race (if known):
Main: Taredhel (73 Captain - man)
Alt1: Keairah (68 Hunter - Man)
Alt2: Infinior (65 Guardian - Man)
Alt3: Tahuariel (65 Rune Keeper - Elf)
Alt4: Lucindreth (7 Rune keeper - Elf, this a new character I just started with 2 friends)
Alt5: Tarmetiel (44 Minstrel - Elf)
Alt6: Torindir (52 Champion - Elf)
and some other stuff, but not worthy of speech yet..
Age (some kinships have real life age limits): 30
Preferred server(s), if any: Snowbourn
Location: (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): Netherlands (EU)
Playstyle: Casual with quests and hardcore we instances. I am a completionist and want to enjoy everything :-)
Dungeon Fellowship play is the thing I love the most. So what if we fail once, buck up, adjust tactics and win!
MMO games you’ve played: LotrO - 4+ years, FFIX - +/-3 years, Tera - 6months and some other small fry stuff.
I have been playing LotrO for some time now and took some time off. Now recently a good buddy of mine who was also playing LotrO for the same amount of time, said: why should really install LotrO again. well....so we did and I am already hooked again :-).
I am a very social guy and if somebody in the kin needs my help. I will travel right to you. Disregarding the level.
Because I like to team up a lot, therefor I am searching for a bigger kin that has constantly active members and are doing dungeon runs. With active members I do not mean 4 or 5 members online at the same time on a friday night. I am thinking more in the numbers of at least 20+.
It offcourse also helps that the kin is in GMT +0 to GMT +2 timezone.
Let me know if I can join, I can be a big help to your kin and willing to level any class that the kin needs!
just wanna havve loads of fun.
