Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
CHARACTER NAME:
Erulehto - Level 42 Elf Hunter - Currently still an Officer in Flames of the West
+4 Alts to cover EVERY crafting profession (2 Minstrels, a Guardian and a 2nd Hunter to be exact).
AGE:
26 - I'm very lucky because I have a career that allows me PLENTY of time for LOTRO :)
PREFERRED SERVER:
Brandywine
TIME ZONE:
Central Time Zone, USA. It doesn't matter much though, I'm online at all hours of the day!
PLAYSTYLE:
One word to sum up my playstyle: FLEXIBLE. I love grouping and crafting (that's why I have an alt to cover every craft). I will happily join in on PvP. I will definitely RP with those who enjoy it. I most definitely look forward to RAIDING with everyone! I consider myself a casual gamer, but if the situation calls for hardcore, I'm there.
MMO's YOU HAVE PLAYED: This was my first one. I've been here since beta and have found no reason to find another MMO. I will never leave LOTRO as long as LOTRO doesn't leave me!
WHY KINSHIPS SHOULD BE INTERESTED IN ME:
My kinship is VERY important to me. I'm extremely loyal and dedicated to everyone in it. Since I love crafting, I will always be doing my best to craft items for players, always free, we're all family and it's important to me that I always try to help them out. I don't consider that a favor, I consider it the right thing to do in a family. I'm the guy on Kinship chat that will immediately help out anyone who needs help (whether it's a quest, instance I've already done, or perhaps just a question). Speaking of Kinship chat, I consider having a close in-game relationship with my kinsmen an utmost priority. I'm that guy everyone likes in real life. I'm a total giver at heart, so I always do what's best for the kinship and make it a point to help lower level players. I'm 26 years old and I'm very mature, I will always represent the kinship in a way that brings honor to the name. Like I said earlier, I've been an officer in Flames of the West since the opening of the game, but sadly the kinship has all but died and I need a new home.
WHAT KIND OF KINSHIP ARE YOU LOOKING FOR:
The most important things are that there are plenty of ACTIVE players who you know aren't going to quit in the near future. Preferably, I'm looking for a larger kinship with as many experienced players as possible, but it's ok if there aren't many, I enjoy helping out newer players tremendously! I prefer a kinship that has reached level 7 or so at least, but it's not required either. I just gravitate toward the more established kinships because of what happened to my current kinship (it was thriving until a sad major event happened, and it started to wither away faster than the elves leaving Middle Earth!) I'm really just looking to have a good time in the game with a bunch of people looking to have as much fun as me!
I'm really going to be looking hard over the next couple of weeks for a good home and look forward to meeting some new friends :)

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): I am Skalde, born in Dale, but Explorer in and Guardian of Breelands and the Shire (c. 19th lvl) (Lee in R/L)
Age: Skalde is 19 (R/L Lee is 55)
Preferred server: Brandywine
Location: I end most adventures resting in the Prancing Pony in Bree (R/L USA/Delaware EST)
Playstyle: Presently mostly solo, some fellowships for short sorjourns, learning the crafting thing in addition to thrilling to the hunt and visiting Middle Earth sites. (R/L I am struggling to get my software to accept the headset/mike. I can hear, but can't be heard - hopefully this will be resolved by weeks end as I am here to roleplay/adventure - 30 years tabletop and live-action experience as of October this year). I can be as casual or as driven as the need of those around me dictates (but not interested in pvp).
MMO games you’ve played: Of what is this you speak? MMO - 'tis some secret code of the Shadow that grows? (R/L - Evercrack)
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: 1) I'm a great team player - love to support those who are working their way up, not a treasure or glory hog, even as a leader I make it a point to be sure all have something to do, are involved and having fun. 2) I encourage roleplay for those who want to but lack experience (besides 30 years of rpg experience - GMing mostly - I have 40 years of theatrical experience including directing, teaching, coaching and performing...this gives me a lot of insight into how to help folk step out of themselves and after all, in many cases isn't that why we're here - to be someone/somewhere else?) thru in-character dialog - not demanding it of others but offering or 'starting us off' as it were. 3) I know Tolkien (was owner/manager/sales for local game store built around Tolkien games and holidays; originate and have been participating in an annual Bilbo's Birthday Party since 1979) and have run rpgs in Middle Earth, done readings, written some fan fic, etc. 4) As much as I love to have fun, I've chose LOTR because I want to be part of Middle Earth... I would like to build a Kinship someday called the Star of Earendil for those who champion (not that class only) the causes of the downtrodden or the freepeoples of Middle Earth who find themselves 'in dark places' to be a light 'when all other lights go out' - the light of hope. I would like to work together to form Tolkien or Tolkien-esque oaths to swear to one another, kinship songs adapted from the Canon, perhaps even find a way for us all to decorate our favorite cloak or shield with a common kinship symbolage. 5) I love to laugh at danger, cheer in victory, console in defeat, and share in the comraderie that leads even to mourning fallen fellows.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): Please see question above.
I can be reached thru the forum or personally contacted thru leemcco@yahoo.com.
'til then, May the Force... no, I mean... may you revel in the sunlight on your face, a good cause to rally round, room to use your weapon(s), and the chance to 'bend your elbow' in celebration of victory against the minions of Evil!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Are there that few kinships in need of dedicated players? It seems to me that none of the established kinships even look at this section of the forum. I could be wrong...
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: Clodor in game.
Location: US Central
Playstyle: None yet, just started.
MMO games you’ve played: Runescape and Star Wars Galaxies. I only got into runescape though.
Why kinships should be interested in you? I have experience running clans.
What kind of kinship you are looking for? One that is very active and help new players (like me) get started.
Btw, MMO is short for Massive Multiplayer Online.

Sadly this section has gotten kinda lost in the crowd I think.
Turbine moved the Kinships forum down to the bottom of the list of forum sections AND people forget to look at the Looking for Kinship sticky and just look for actual posts (I know I usually do).
For the most part if you play on a particular server you are better off going to your Server section and looking at the Kinships area there. Usually the Kins keep a better eye on that area.
Of course if anyone here is an Adult, wants to play on Meneldor, likes to help people and has a fairly laid back play style then My kin might be the one for you. ;)
Is it too much to ask that people be able to click on a link? :p

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Don't have a character yet, planning on elf Guardian to start.
Age: 27
Preferred server(s), if any: No preference, I haven't picked a server yet.
Location. : USA, Mountain time zone
Playstyle. casual, group, solo, PvE, raids
MMO games you’ve played: FFXI, DDO, LotRO beta
Why kinships should be interested in you: I'm new, but I'm willing to learn. Show me my mistakes and I will do my best to correct them. I'm also a team player. I like to earn my keep and not feel like I'm just tagging along.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: For the most part I am a casual player. My interests are in solo/group and PvE play. I would like to participate in raids once I get that far, however I am not interested in hardcore groups that have an attendance policy more strict than my real life job. For the most part a mature, friendly, help each other out type of kin.
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
I'm not sure if I'm looking for a Kinship, I'm not sure I know what a Kinship is! I'm just looking for people to play with me. The game is so much more fun with friends! I currently am playing solo and am at a level ten. I've never played a game like this before, so be gentle!
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Phoenixfire, Elf, Lore-master,
Age: 33
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): I'm on Windfola
Location: Seattle, WA
Playstyle. Solo so far!
MMO games you’ve played: NA
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: Because you are new to, or a lower level and want someone to play with??
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): A fun one!!!
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
I'm looking to move servers from Windfola to somewhere busier - my choices, in order, are:
landroval
brandywine
arkenstone
Suggestions?
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Alathorn-Captain
Age: 26
Preferred server(s), if any: Silverlode
Location: PA EST
Playstyle: I'm pretty new but I'm usually Solo some quests I'll look for a group and I help when I'm available
MMO games you’ve played: This is pretty much it
Why kinships should be interested in you: Short and sweet-I'm mature, I play solo most of the time and if someone asks for help and i'm nearby, I help.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: One with options of Solo or group play, where members will help each other when they can and one that does not pressure you to do anything.
*I don't get into those where I have to pay any kind of money because of sites or membership fees!
**In game donations are cool if you want a kinship house.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hi, I'm looking for a kinship to enhance the social aspect of the game, meet friends and participate in multi-player events.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Sundariel, an Elf Hunter. Currently level 21.
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
18, in university.
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
Landroval
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
GMT Time, Cambridge, UK right now. Work hours are very flexible though, so available most hours.
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Casual, like to craft. Serious playing is limited to summer, once term time starts (mid october) I'll be much less available. Probably resume in holidays.
MMO games you’ve played:
This is the first 'real' MMO. Runescape doesn't count.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
I'm an extra body to help out, extra source of loot and potentially a high level crafter happy to help.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
Something casual enough, that doesn't place too many demands on their members. Sufficient size so as to always have people to play with, friendly with a good support network.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: Brett Beeman
Age: 19
Location:Florida, USA, EST timezone
Playstyle:Newbie. Right now I'm just exploring the world and getting a feel for things, looking into PvMP
MMO games you’ve played: none
Why kinships should be interested in you?: I am a very social player, and group as much as possible. I am always up for grouping and make a great team player.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: Casual
See my other post for more information. I made it before I saw this (note to self: read stickies).
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Larry, Main Character is Shadowbryte, Level 22 Champion, Human.
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
Let's just say that I am older than your average player, in fact I was born before LOTR was published.
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
landroval, that is where my current character resides and I would like to continue playing him.
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
Eastern
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Mostly solo but I would like to play more with groups, providing I could find the right one. I like to read the story line and take my time, instead of just running through an area and killing everything in sight.
MMO games you’ve played:
I am rather new to MMORPG's but I have tried out most of the well known games, WOW, EQ2, EVE, and D&DOL. All seem to have advantages and faults, but I feel the LOTR is the best for my style of play.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
Maturity, OK, I'm just old and sometimes I wake up early and play in just my underwear.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
A mature group, this does not mean age, it is attitude.
No required participation or playing times. While I do want to play with a group more I want to do it on my own terms, I don't want to be required to go on a certain raid or play at a certain time. I am a student, I work full time, and have a family, so I need to play on my schedule and not the kinships.
Light roll playing.
Newbie friendly. Like I said I am still fairly new to MMORPG's
Casual Atmosphere. I still want to play the game at my own pace and don't want to feel I am being pressured into playing at someone else's.
Sense of Humor - It is a game after all, so don't take things to seriously. I looked at one kinship that required you to take a test about LOTR to join. While I have read the books, I have killed a lot of brain cells since then and my memory is not what it used to be. So if someone is going to be upset because I can't remember the name of a certain character or location I don't really need the hassle.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hello fellow LotRO players!
The "what" and the "who"
I am looking to join a kinship, on the Firefoot server. I have been playing for a couple of months, have a lifetime subscription, and am planning on being here for a very long time. I am looking for a group of people that I can quest/raid with, that are consistently active, are friendly, mature, drama-free, with a good sense of humor. I want to be a part of something that gives me a feeling of "being a part of something", not just being in a kin for the sake of being in a kin. I like a kin that is laid back in it's daily interactions, but assume a military-esq formation when doing raids. People that are willing to assume their roles and the application of their skills where the need be, when they need be. I believe in fun above all else, but with a structured game-plan (when applicable). More basically, I want to be able to log-in and see several people that I know, and play with also online. If you see me out in the world, say, "Hi". If ya log-in and see me online, say, "Hi".I prefer PvE. I like to solo, but also fellow and raid. I love crafting. I am a mix of casual and hardcore (depending on what's going on in-game and RL). I typically do not RP. I typically do not PvP.
Who I am In-game
Currently my main is a level 48 [Woman] Lore-master, named Botemedel Bedrövelse. I also have a couple of alts: 17 [Hobbit] Hunter (Remgar), 12 [Dwarf] Guardian (Krimbli), 11 [Man] Minstrel (Bolomir), and bank. I am hoping to get Bote to 50 asap. She is an Explorer by trade, and will most likely be my alt farmer. I will utilize her abilities to their extent in raids, helping others, etc., as needed. I am a "healer" by personality. Unfortunately, I did not read fully into the Minstrel class when choosing my first character, or else I would've went in that direction. I am not atm too overly concerned with the lore of the game. I know that sounds odd coming from a Lore-master, hehe. But, once I have a couple 50s under me, I hope to go back through and spend time learning the lore of the game. I have seen all the movies, and have been a fan of Tolkien since childhood. So, I am not without some knowledge of the lore.
Who I am Out-of-game
My name is Bob. I am 34 years old. My wife and I have been together for 13 yrs. (married for 9). We have 4 kids. We live in Minnesota, so my timezone is CMT. I work from home, so have unlimited play time. I started my MMO "career" back in '97 with Ultima Online. I played that for a about 3 yrs. Once it became too laggy for me to continue with, I moved on to a new game that was taking "everyone" from UO. That game was World Of Warcraft. WoW was a godsend from the linear 2D of UO. After 2 1/2 yrs though, I just couldn't do it any more. I took a short stint from MMOs until a friend of mine called me up, and told me he was getting this new game and was buying me the game as well. Alas, we both cancelled our newly acquired Age of Conan accounts after the first month. We had been playing together in all the aforementioned games, and went shopping for our next "new" game. He tried GW, PotBS. I tried CoH, EvE. Not what we were looking for. I stumbled across LotRO while checking mmorpg.com, and was intrigued. I went straight for the full purchase, as it was only $10! After a couple of weeks I upgraded to the lifetime. My friend has since then also joined me here, and lovin' it as much as I am.
What I can offer...
I have leadership experience and qualities. I have held positions of such in other games, as well as RL. I am a mature player, with a sense of humor, so I can have fun w/o being uptight too. Although I have only been playing LotRO for a couple of months, I am a quick learner. If I can't answer something in-game immediately, I at least know several internet sites that can. I am willing to stop what I am doing (if it is not extremely important atm) to help others, be they new or veteran. I help others any way possible when/if I am able.
If you are interested in recruiting me, or wish to know more, please contact me in-game or at spr808@msn.com . Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name - Eldinan, Human Ranger
Age 19
server - ArkenStone
Location - IL
right now i am only level 18. i picked up the game, but quite playing it because i couldent find a group of people to play with. i am starting it back up now because i love the LOTR story
i am a casual player, i do like to go solo every once and a while. but 90% of the time, i love having a few people with me. for the sake of chatting on the headset if nothing else.
i am a right wing conservitive... i love to debate politics. dont konw how imporntat that is, just thought i should throw it out there to avoid things later on.
i am a heavy machine opperater for CAT on their 3rd shift... needless to say, i keep kind of odd hours.
i have played guild wars and WoW. i have a ranger in GW, and a hunter in WoW... i am more then used to playing the role of sit back and shoot.
i am only level 18, so i am not really opposed to starting a new player on another server.
i will roll a ranger no matter what server i go on... i will probely have a loremaster and or warden for a secondary toon.
i am looking for a semi structured kinship of people who are fun to talk to, play with, are half way reliable when it comes to grouping, and dont ignor their lower level members.
also, i am a huge fan of table top wargaming... Warhammer 40,000 is one of my favorite. it would be GREAT to join a kin that has a few people who play it.
P.S. in case this post wasent enough.... i cant spell worth a squirles fart

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Note: (AM) Morning Gamer. I normally Log-On at around 7AM (EST) and play day hours (Normally 7am-2pm), rarely weekday evenings/nights. Looking for similar morning players or just a good Kinship base =). I work nights (11pm-7am).
Name: Timmy (RL, player name I choose at creation)
Age: 38
Preferred server: None, will reroll and cap.
Location: USA, East Coast (Morning heavy player)
Playstyle: All of them =). I prefer raiding, but can live with just casual play. Whatever is going on, I am your Huckleberry.
MMO games you’ve played: Been MMOing everyday since 1991 (MUDS). EQ, AC's, AO, SWG, Planetside.., Horizons,WoW, currently split on Hellgate/WAR. Now a second try at LOTRO (JRR fan since 1979).
What I offer?: I am a good boy =). Good raid exp, easy to talk to and direct, I do my homework, enjoy MMO's in general.
What kind of kinship you are looking for?: Raiding, PvMP, casual...whatever I can manage to fit into. I am not good at RP, so probably not a good canidate for that, but I respect it.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hey there, I'm looking for a kinship in Landroval where I can find people to freestyle with on the music system. Doesn't have to be a music kinship, just one with a few keyboardists who like to jam. I've got a new MIDI controller and I'm not too shabby with it.
Character: Ulweard, lvl 25 human minstrel
My age: 24
Time online: When I'm on, it's usually around 11:30 PM -2:00 AM Pacific time (that's 7:30 - 10:00 GMT) but I'm sometimes on in the hours before that.
Playstyle: I like both solo and group stuff. I'd like to get more into the crafting system. I can do RP if I have to, but preferably the kind where you just speak as your character instead of writing out whole paragraphs in /emote from the POV of an omniscient narrator.
I'm a pretty casual player, I'm on around twice or three times a week and I don't like the idea of needing to be on the server regularly at a particular day and time.

Name: Devak lvl 21 champion

I would be an active member not only in game play but also in Kin activities, would love to be apart of an organized kin with rank structure able to form activities and help other members

im a lvl 22 hunter on Arkenstone. Im just looking for a kin with people who are actually online and willing to help a "noob" like me. :D

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Character Name is Bitman, Man
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
My age is 28
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
I currently am using Brandywine
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
I reside in the midwest Eastern time zone
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
I am still finding my playstyle. I have found so far that I prefere quests and storylines oover PvP. I am ok solo but have more fun working with 1-3 other people. Would be considered a causual gamer. I have work and school, and the nature of my job has me working various times and amounts so I would need a Kin that is flexable. I am not quite sure how to Rp in this type of setting comming from a table-top and minature gaming background.
MMO games you’ve played:
SWG (briefly) Liked the orignal concpts of character advancement, but do to lack of being able to play consistantly and the changing of the format I stopped playing
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. see below
What do you offer kinships?:
I am smart and good at following orders or giving them if need be. I belive in TEAMWORK, And helping those who help you. While new to the game and MMOs in general I am a quick learner. The most important thing is I want to have FUN.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
I am looking for a Kinship that is adult minded, meaning that juvenile antics are minimal. I am for the most part laid back and just want to have fun and explore the world in which is provided in the game. I am also looking for a kin that looks out for one another, and has each others back. I have found these games to be hard enough as it is on one's own, let alone trying to deal with out of game BS. I have a table-top Rp background I can fit into an Rp Kinship given time. But I want to make something known up front. I have a job, school, and girlfriend. These are the most important things in my life. This game is not my main priority. While I understand that these game requie a certain level of dedication in order to be succesful, I am my real life will take precedence. I know that this may seem like a strange statment but I have been invovled in gaming groups (non MMOs) that expect the game to take precedence and I cannot do that. I hope whoever reads this sees something that is worthwhile to their Kinship and I look forward to hearing from them.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Ullu, Men (Champion, lvl 38)
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits) 28
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): Gladden
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): US EST
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): Majorly solo, group/fellowship if and when needed
MMO games you’ve played: WoW, LOTRO (Shadows of Angmar)
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: Honestly, I dont kw what else I can offer, other than my IN-GAME assistance if and when needed.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): Friendly ofcourse, and NOT compelling or dictating to be part of certain quest/fellowship.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Soon to be Kinless Elven Loremaster seeks new home.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Alurane, Elf, 60 Loremaster. Explorer profession.
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
I don't really want to advertise the fact that I'm 38.
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
Currently residing on Vilya. I would consider a one off transfer for a good and active Kin.
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
GMT +10/+11. East coast of Australia.
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Solo by necessity (only active kin member and a shy nature).
Semi-casual. Scarce during uni semesters, but frequently online during the holidays.
I would like to see the fellowship and raid content, just don't call it "end-game" - that would conjure up images of endless gear-grinding, "guild" dramas and loot-obsessed players.
Almost exclusively PvE. I've only PvP'd a couple of times as a Creep and never as a Freep.
Non-RP (I'm just not creative enough for RP).
MMO games you’ve played:
Guild Wars
EVE Online
LotRO - of course.
I deny any and all accusations that I played WoW for 12 months between playing Guild Wars and EVE.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
I'm friendly (but shy). I don't mind helping my fellow kin members when they need help. In fellowships and on raids I can follow instructions and work as part of a team.
I believe I'm a competent player.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
I'd like to join a friendly, mature, active and non-hardcore kinship that is preferably in an Oceanic timezone. Having regular instance runs and the occasional raid would be an added bonus.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name:Ferindil, on Nimrodel.
Location: EST (-5:00?), USA.
Playstyle: I try to play casually, and I try to play in moderation. I will try to keep my crafting up, so I can make weapons for others (I am an armsman vocation).
MMO games you’ve played: Warhammer Online (WAR), WoW (currently subscribed to both WAR and WoW), CoH, FFXI (a terrible game in my opinion), Planetside, and SWG.
Why kinships should be interested in you: I am highly sociable, and do like to have fun. I act like an adult, and do not try to anger anyone.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: One that will help me level, along with have events and socialize.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name: Voxalia (Level 50 Rune-Keeper) on Elendilmir
Location: EST (-5:00 GMT), USA.
Playstyle: I'm not as diehard as I was back in my EQ days so I'd say I'm a little more casual. I'd love to see LOTRO raid content since Moria looks especially interesting.
MMO games you’ve played: I've played them all with the most recent being Warhammer Online.
Why kinships should be interested in you: I love helping out in any way possible plus my many years of MMO experience isn't to shabby either. ;)
What kind of kinship you are looking for: I'm looking for a smaller kinship focused on grouping and helping each other out.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hi!
I'm a 50 yr old gamer... I've been inspired by 'The Guild' and I want to find or form a Kinship with some locals so we can get together and tip a few or have an occasional LAN Party.
I'm in Chicago and looking for an already formed Kinship of locals or like-minded adult (25 and up) LOTRO players that are in the Chicago area.
My current alts are on Nimrodel and Elendilmir, but I'd be willing to start up new alts on another server if there is already a ChicagoLand Kinship on another server.
Name or character name: Dobhglas (Level 40 Hunter) on Nimrodel
Location: Chicago, IL, USA (CST)
Playstyle: I'm a Crafter primarily.
MMO games you’ve played: AO, SWG, EVE, AoC, DnD, WoW... But now I only play EVE & LOTRO
Why kinships should be interested in you: I'm a good 'Joe'... Enjoying LOTRO!
What kind of kinship you are looking for: I'm looking for a ChicagoLand kinship.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Character name: Elohirm
Class: Minstrel
Level: 10
Playstyle: Casual gamer due to having extended work hours, role-play is a strong option for
my character in order to maintain the overall feel of the game... Like another
post stated I'm looking for a kinship which I can grow with and is of a more
mature nature meaning the names of characters are consistent with LOTR or
fantasy gaming in general. Since I'm a newb at the MMORPG scene I'm looking
for a more guided approach during this Jan so I can get used to all the shortcuts
and game quirks.
Time zone: EST USA
Preferred Server: Nimrodel
Online time: Usually sometime between 8-10pm randomly and 5-6am since my work schedule is
needless to say confusing. I'll maintain contact to let you know my online ops.
Ideal kinship: Friendly, structured, casual role play, time limited friendly, mature in
character not meaning age but in behavior.
Why Kinships would be interested in me?
I'm easy to get along with and am the type you goto when you need something done.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):Jondir, Man, Guardian (lvl 50+)
Age: 40s
Preferred server(s), if any: Arkenstone
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): Mountain Timezone, Idaho
Playstyle: Solo, group, PvE, some RAIDs, casual-to-hardcore, time limited
MMO games you’ve played: WoW, City of Heroes/Villains, Age of Conan
Why kinships should be interested in you. What do you offer kinships?: I am loyal, a mature player, casual and friendly
What kind of kinship you are looking for: Casual friendly group of mature players interested in teaming, when possible. Kinship of people who do not mind helping others.
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: Shelley
Age: 38
Preferred server(s): Any
Location: PST - typical playtime from 8pm - 10pm
Playstyle: In the past, I've leaned more toward hardcore raiding, but my circumstances have changed (I'm a mom now!), and I'm casual. I still harbor dreams of raiding again someday, but it could be years from now. I enjoy both solo and group play and usually some crafting.
MMO games you’ve played: Just about all of 'em. I've spent the most time in Everquest, DAoC, Anarchy Online, and WoW. I played LOTRO in beta and liked it but was already committed to another MMO at the time.
What do you offer kinships?: I'm mature, friendly, helpful, and I have a good sense of humor. I like to figure things out for myself whenever possible and am not looking for handholding, although I certainly appreciate tips and advice when offered. I'm not really into RP, but I do love all things LOTR (so glad that technology arrived that could bring us good movies and games inspired by the books - wish Tolkien could have lived to see it).
What kind of kinship you are looking for: As I am just starting the game, I'd really like a kinship where at least some of the people are playing at lower levels. I don't want to get stuck being unable to complete group quests. I also need a guild where members are active during my primary hours of play (8-10pm pst). I'd prefer a mature group (behavior-wise) and a relatively laidback atmosphere.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race: Multiple new characters... trying out each class right now... favor Human Loremaster & Hunter
Age: 29
Preferred server(s), if any. : Brandywine
Location. Central Time Zone
Playstyle. Solo, PvE, Casual
MMO games you've played: WOW, Tabula Rasa, Warhammer, Everquest 2, etc...
Here is something I posed on the Brandywine forum that sums up what I am looking for...
1) I'm a casual player, but I will invest a good amount of time leveling & such. I play anywhere from 8-16 hours a week on the average. I like doing instances, but kind of shy away from daily instances & raiding. My gaming schedule does allow those type of events though, as long as I know ahead of time and its well planned. I am also up for spontaneous groups as well, it just depends. In the past with other groups I've always enjoyed the runs, but always felt the greed going round. Like most of the people were there for the gear, more than the experience. I'm more for having fun, experiencing the content and getting the loot is just the bonus. I've heard that the Kinship in LOTRO are more group orientated and not so much about Advance, Advance, Advance!
2) I feel that loyalty in a Kinship/Fellowhsip/Guild is key to its survival. And one of the things I've rarely experienced. I know we are all human and people disagree, but I think its good to have a common goal and common ideals.
3) I'm in my late 20's, so I'm beyond the "swearing is cool" stage. I'm not saying I don't use "improper" language, but never in chat and rarely out loud. I don't have a problem with it, but it always seemed to saturate guild chat and just wore me out. Respect and thoughtfulness seemed to be put aside for crude talk and insults. I enjoy chiding and teasing, but this was excessive and inappropriate.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Micthalion, elf
Age: 27
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): firefoot as of now, only one I've played on and where my character is
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): South Carolina, GMT -5 (EST)
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): Solo, group, RAIDs, crafter, time limited during the week because of work
MMO games you’ve played: this is the first
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: Willing to help out other members with quests, fellowships, crafting weapons, raids, etc. I'm competitive, but also like just having fun sometimes.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm not too picky. I'm not really into heavy RP, but respect those that do. I'm looking to have a set group that I can rely on and can rely on me to do quests and fellowships, trade/buy/sell goods, raids, etc. and just to generally have a good time in the game.
I'm on Firefoot, so feel free to contact me.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name-- Ephara, Elf hunter
Age-- 19
Preferred Server(s)-- Arkenstone, but i don't mind switching if needed
Location-- -5 GMT Indiana
Playstye-- Solo, some groups, casual, mostly PvE but i do like to do some PvP now and then.
Previous MMO's-- WoW, FFXI, RO, Guild Wars, Eve Online, Lineage 2, Perfect World, Age of Conan
What i offer-- I tend to learn things pretty fast and often gladly help others no matter the level difference. I'm not a greedy player, but i do like to keep my equipment up-to-date so i'm not underpowered. I value loyalty to a guild/kinship and always try to support my allies. I'm open for just about anything i could be asked of as long as it's within my ability to do, oh and i do tend to explore a whole lot and usually know the world quite well after a while. Though i have played a number of MMO's that doesn't mean i'm the kind of person where they are my life, i attend college currently and they give me something to do that i like, lol. I guess i don't have too much for offer yet since i only recently moved over to this game, sorry.
Types of Kinships i'm looking for-- well, i'm open for most groups and not too picky but i would prefer a casual group that is open for an occasional instance. Lastly, i would prefer a mature-behavior group, from all the other games i've been through, those kinds of people can be rare.

looking for kinship on Arkenstone
Name or character name: Amathal
Age: 23
Location: USA Central Time
Playstyle: I like to solo and group up for quests equally casul for the most part in college and like endgame content
MMO games you’ve played:World of Warcraft, Guild Wars and now lotro
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I know about aggro control what to do in a raid. Not much of a drama person really laid back. If im going to talk it really depends on the convo going on. unlike some people not easily offend of the small **** (yes i do cuse but not all the time) i help people if im able.i dont talk politics all that much cause i really dont care about. religion? only if some else starts and its tends to be a short convo. Like to have a kinship that would help a person thats new the game (in other words me) and wont mind alot of questions till i get the hang of things.(every mmo is different) I like to joke sometimes what people would consider"innapporate" i never mean anything by it just having fun. im honest to a fault especially since i suck a lying. I like to get along with as many people as i can but i can promise i will with everyone (you know the whole me being a human and all) Instancing when i get to higher lvl and as im lvling i'll be in them if LOTRO has them.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm looking for a kinship with mature people. Age kinda make a difference to me as far a maturity but not a big factor (have meet some very mature people younger than me). again casul player who likes to raid when he can. i like to "listen" interseting convo;s that go on in "guild" or "kinship" prefer a mixed bag of people and wide range of personalties. also instancing if a possible while lvling and later.

What kind of kinship you are looking for.

What kind of kinship you are looking for: Hi, I just purchased the game today and was looking for a casual, helpful kinship that also uses some form of voice chat as It's so much easier asking questions than typing all the time. I'm usually at my computer almost every night between 6-9pm central time and weekends. I'm 39 and just looking for help on which server to start on and heard great reviews about this game, so here I am.
I still play Guild Wars with a couple of buddies once in a while which was my first mmo, though I realize some people may not call it one. That game got me hooked and never played anything else since I started it.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):Cicinnatus, Man,
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits) 18
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):vilya
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):Philadelphia, EST
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): im new to mmo's but i prefer to solo bu would like groups of similar leveled people for the more difficult quests
MMO games you’ve played: none, this is my first
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I have a decent amount of time to spend and i would enjoy helping others who are new to the game to get rolling and once i get to the higher levels i would like to play some of the larger raids
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): a laid back kinship that is not super involved but still takes it seriously. im still in school, so i usually have evenings free but my schedule changes alot so i would likely wont be able to be a major regular.voice chat would also be nice. thanks

Im Looking For A Kinship!
Name, Race, Class: Bondoh, Man, Loremaster.(currently playing in arkenstone)
Age: 16
USA; MST timezone. Arizona
Playstyle: PvE when i cant do instances.
MMO games you’ve played: WOW
Im 16 but Im mature and i really would like to be in a kinship so that i can have someone to help me out because with my loremaster i cant take heavy damage so its hard to increase in level.
Im looking for a kinship with friendly, helpful people that will help me get to at least level 20 and allow me to go into instances with them.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Charectar name: Isumcome, hobbit.
Age: I'm going to keep that to myself, but i haven't hit 21 yet
Preffered server: Windfola
Location: Central Timezone
Playstyle: Solo and crafting, but i'm flexible
MMO's: I've played various MMO's but Lotro is the first one I've stuck with.
Reasons to recruit me: Like I've said before I'm flexible and I'm willing to do everything in my power to help other players. My class is a burg so I'm always willing to help with everything that needs a burg. However I will be honest with the downside of me. I can be random with being logged on and off, also at times I might be off for incredibly long lengths of time (I'll try to warn you when this might happen).
Type of kinship I'm looking for: I'm hoping to lead a kin someday, so just about anything will do. I prefer kins that have a wide variety of players and kins with mature players. I hope that this helps you think about recruiting me.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Starting out today. New MMO, new "kinship" new friends.
Looking for a good small tight older type kinship.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name: Mendilvar (main), Braunte
Preferred Server: Firefoot
Age: 38
Location: TX,USA; CST timezone.
Playstyle: Solo for when I can't find groups, but prefer to be in groups of similar level people. I would eventually like to reach endgame with enough people to do the end game content with.
MMO games you’ve played: Vanguard, WOW, SWG, DAOC, EQ, EQ2, Warhammer (currently playing).
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I'm an adult and I act like one. I don't swear and I don't argue over pointless stuff for the sake of arguing. I'm willing to take advice from others and follow directions in groups. I have experience in the MMO world, so I'll already know the bassics like aggro, pulling, main tank, off tank, etc.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm looking for a kinship with mature people, meaning people who don't act like children. I prefer a casual playstyle as opposed to a hardcore style so that I can enjoy the game content. A functional website is a must. A kinship that will help it's members and/or offer its expertise to new players is a must. Use of Ventrilo, etc. would be nice for raiding.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Barbariccia(elf, runekkeper, jeweler, lvl20), Glariza(dwarfy, hunter, woodworker, lvl21), Mandywin(human, loremaster, explorer, lvl14)
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
i'm 21
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
Silverode
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
Mexico (-6:00GMT)
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Well, i like to keep it relax, enjoying the time crafting and stuff, i just highly hate when people is behind me, pushing me to level up. I hate kinships where everybody is lvl 60 and are not willing to help you out (of course not babysitting). I'm a spanish speaker, so i'm better at talking in spanish than english. My english accent is not nice so don't expect a lot from me, specially if we're in voice chat. I feel more freely when i talk in spanish, indeed if you are not bother by my accent i can talk too. I highly dislike to kill ramdonly mobs until i level up, i prefer questing or doing fellowship, sane fellowship with a previos strategy and ideas from everyone in a fellowship, of course there's must be a leader but i just hate when someone call upon then that they're leader and in the end everybody finish dead. I like to play without neurosis and such, if i died, well it's ok, i'm not gonna blame the minstrel or healer. But i spect a reprocity exchange, if you help me i help you and viceversa. I like to RP a lot but since english isn't my main lenguage i can sound odd sometimes. I like to craft and to fish and be happy with my kinship and fellowship.
MMO games you’ve played:
Well not much, i'm a girl and my husband just introduced me to gamming, i've played, RO, Tibia, Ryzom. And that's it.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
Well, i offer helpfullness if i can say, i will be willing help lower levels in crafting stuff for them, helping them questing and stuff. I like to have a nice chat and be happy and to share, i'm also very open-minded so i sometimes have a very odd humor. I also like strategy and i have nice suggestions when fellowshiping. i like mostly contribute with anything.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
I wish to join to a kinship that will have spanish speakers betweeen their members, not necessary everybody speaking spanish since i can understand english average, a kinship that is relaxing and not obssesed to be the best of the best in LOTRO (and by this, kinships highly organized with everybody lvl 60 and killing the first mobs released in the new expantions, and like totally obsessed), friendly kinship, i like being friendly and i'm quite obedient when needed but i really hate when someone tries to dominate me when they even can't be strict with themselves. I'm a woman since i did said, so i really expect to treat me normally but i hate when people don't respect me because of this (you're not gamer because you're a woman and such for example), i highly hate chavinism. I tend to be a strong, loyal, kind leader if needed.
I will help in everything i can and highly prioritice to have a good time with ZERO drama for the kinship. I specially hate drama. I hope you can accept me, thank you.
*Of course if there's a kinship that meets all the above except for the spanish speaker part, i'm still interested, i'll do my best to fit it.

Looking for a Kinship?
Hello,
My name is Bionath Whitefeet (In-game) and I'm a Level 16 Hobbit, I'm 15 years old but many people have commented on the maturity for my age. My preffered server is Silverlode and I'm living in the middle of Australia (+9:30 GMT). I'm only a casual gamer but I'm going to try to get on here more often. I have never played any other MMOs before (apart from LOTRO).
I beleive I can offer a kinship a loyal and honest friend who can listen, is mature and will help those who need helping if I can. I also am good at making webpages if you need any assistance.
I would prefer a kinship with a mature (mature not older) level of players, willing to help others, open minded and at least a web server running for a site.

Your name, or character name and race: Chaddrick VanRavensway Level 26 Man Warden

MMO games you’ve played: Warhammer(takinng a break from it), AoC, DAoC, SWG, EQ, EQ2, WoW, Matrix Online, AC2, Dungeon Runners, Auto Assault, to many free to plays to list, etc, etc and even more etc
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I am a mature dedicated experienced team player. Even though I am new to LotRO and low level I am a very quick learner and leveler. I am willing to put my time and effort into a worthy kinship and will never take out more than I put in. I am also not ******** or a drama queen. I love to raid, explore and craft. I am serious but like to enjoy myself and have fun as well.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I am looking for a serious team oriented kinship with some set end game goals. A webpage and Vent/TS are preferred forms of communication.

Age: 22
Preferred server: Windfola
Location: Eastern Standard Time
Playstyle: Solo, PVE, Casual, RP
MMO games you’ve played: World of WarCraft, WarHammer Online
Why kinships should be interested in you?: I'm a team player, when you need help you can count on me being there. I don't spam or type in caps or constantly ask for help. Although I'm new I like to figure things out on my own but love to just have fun.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: Casual, laidback and fun. Some roleplaying would be nice but not necessary. I'd like to avoid a giant conglamorate kinship that has hundreds of players. I'd like something cozy where I can get to know the other members. I work during the day but will most likely be on at night, hit me up!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name: Evalinn (28 Woman Hunter)
Age: 24
Location: USA; CST
Playstyle: Generally solo, though I enjoy groups or pairs and love to lend a hand.
MMO games you’ve played: only LOTRO unless you want to get REALLY old school.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:I know how to utilize a hunter (a rarity, I feel), I'm familiar with the basic concepts of the game (tanking, aggro, off-tanking, etc..) I'm smart and helpful and know my role in fellowships - good at working in groups and communicating, and able to take constructive criticism. I respect roleplayers though I don't much myself at the moment. Open minded.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm looking for a kinship with diversity! I love to learn all I can, respectfully, about features of the game. One with some focus on mentoring and helping as well as having fun.. I'm laid back, kinship should be too! Maturity is a must; though I don't roleplay hardcore, I don't have the patience for the antics of preteen boys. Kinships with a few other ladies would be fun too! Oh, and I tend to stick to Landroval.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hello Everyone,
I really hope this is the right category for trying to find a Guild/Kinship. I would like to first post some background information. I am a VET MMO player, my first MMORPG experiance was Everquest (Ruins of Kunark). That to date was the best MMO experiance for me. Now that I am married and work/attend college full time I cant be as hardcore. I am going to college for game design (hobby/dream). I have played WOW, WAR, AOC, EQ2, FF and about 50 or so f2p (free to play) MMORPG's.
Just recently picked up the MOM since I got bored of playing everything else mentioned above. I just want a casual MMROPG where I can hop on play with friends and not treat the game as a second job or a chore.
I really enjoy guilds that like to group together for instances or raids and pvp. I have no idea what class to play, nor where to even start. Last time i played this game was the open beta so I would need some help understanding which one would be the best fit for me. I love classes that are needed in groups, but im not a fan of pure healers and tanks. Im more of a buff/dps type of player. I think the Captain may be my best fit.
So if there are any guilds out there that are looking for an additional member, dont mind helping out as far as how the game works, throw me a response. I plan on sticking with LOTRO for a long while.
I havent made a higher level character yet...currently testing classes at around 5 atm. So I can still switch servers if the guild isnt on my current one...starts with an L lol sorry i dont remember the rest of it!
P.S. I prefer mid-size guilds, and I usually play tuesday, thursday nights, afternoon - evening on saturdays and all day sundays.
P.P.S My family will always come first, so if we raid or group for dungeons please keep this in mind.
P.P.P.S Sorry for posting this in the wrong place! I just realized Kinships were = to guilds. Talk about a brain blank.
*I am not looking for a hardcore guild*
-Thanks in advance for any responses, suggestions.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name: Nashan
Age: 40
Location: Australia. Sydney +10 GMT
Playstyle: Mostly solo unless I run into a group with the same objectives, Enjoy Roleplaying though have yet to see any in LOTRO.
MMO games you’ve played: NWN PW, Eve
Why kinships should be interested in you. I am mature, I enjoy the game and I place more importance on fun than being the best.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: I am looking for a Kinship who are active, that don't take the game to seriously, and are not a bunch of kids, must be mature.
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name: Zamron
Age: 17
Location: USA; EST timezone
Playstyle:I love group play/quests, but its sometimes hard to find a good group. so im a tough solo player
MMO games you’ve played: WoW for 30 days (shhh it was on 3 dif trial accounts) RS for 5 years. and now LOTRO
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: i may be 17, but i am vary mature. im not looking for a "goody two shoes" kin. id like to find one where i wont be scolded when i cuss (i do not intend on cussing any kinnie out but if it happens it happens. hope i wont have to)
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm looking for a kinship with mature people. To me, mature dosen't mean a certain age, it means people who don't act like children. What I don't want to see is people or kinships with names like "1c4Mp4lLd4y" or "$$havens$$" or anything else that uses numbers/symbols in place of words/letters or alternating upper and lower case letters. Casual is better to me than hardcore also. I don't want to feel forced into leveling instead of enjoying the game. A functional website is a must. A kinship that will help it's members is a must. *this was from the person i copy-pasted from. it seems to be exactly what i am looking for also.*

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: Gralmin lvl 25 Guardian
Age: 23
Location: USA, Central time
Playstyle: I love fellowship play and questing with others. I wouldn't call my self hardcore by any means but I do like explore all the game has to offer.
Server: Nimrodel
Other MMOs: WOW for a year or so, planetside, Anarchy online, EQ, CoH and Wurm.
Why me? I think I could be a friendly addition to any kinship. Im more the willing to spend whole play sessions just helping some one out. Its been quite some time since I played but I'll try my hardest to better my self and be a usefull addition to any kinship.
Who I'm looking for: As I said im not hardcore but some where between I guess you could say. Just a fun group of people to explore what LOTRO has to offer at our own pace. Obviously maturity is a big thing but not uptight. A decent sense of humor is a must.
PS; I just became a father less then a month ago and while I'm committed to the game obviously family comes first.
Thanks for your time!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Age: 29
Location: EST
I have three level 60s on the Silverlode server. I won't rule out transferring, but I'm looking for an established kinship that runs the higher end instances with some regularity, a kinship that regularly schedules the Watcher, Nornuan (when open), and is preparing for the Book 8 raid. With that said, I don't want participation in these activities to be mandatory either. I'm a father of three, and can't always make it to an event. Two of my 60s have full radiance, while the other is halfway there.
Shoot me a PM on here if you're recruiting. I'd be interested in hearing about your kin!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: TBD
Age: 36
Location: Eastern Time Zone
Playstyle: Casual only, instances on weekends maybe. I enjoy the social element of the game.
Server: TBD
Other MMOs: EQ, Vanguard, SWG, AoC for a week (ugh!), WoW
Why me? I am a considerate player with a sense of humor. I liven up guild chat with my rapier wit. I produce comical situations with my uncanny unexpected pull superpowers. I love to learn the mechanics of the game I am playing, and I love to discuss these things with others, and someday, when I'm no longer newb, I mentor other players. I leap tall buildings and have a batmobile as well.
Who I'm looking for:
I've found that the quality of players in this game overall are really great, but I always find that I fit in best with a guild of the following qualities:
* Most players are 30+ in age - if you don't remember the A-Team I don't think I can be your friend
* Casual play style - I can't make my early-bird dinners and get up at 5 AM if I'm raiding
* No language restrictions - some days I need a good vent, and if language offends people they aren't of the maturity level I'm looking for.
* Sense of humor is a must! If Stewart or Colbert are in your guild, that's a big plus. I'm working on lining them up as backup husbands in the event mine should pass away unexpectedly.
And here's the main difference: I've joined some kinships in my short time here and I've found them all to be very helpful and friendly enough, but the helping seems to come before the being friendly, and that's not how I roll. I love helping people, but I like to help because I like the people, not just because it's the nice thing to do.
I don't mind a very small guild if it has these qualities. Size really doesn't matter!
I tend to play early mornings on the weekends and some weekday afternoons, between 3:30 and 6 or so (eastern time zone). I am looking first for friends in game, and second for people to adventure with.
I realize that guilds like this tend not to advertise, but if anyone is in such a guild (or knows of such a guild) on any server, please let me know.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): I am undecided on name but I am certain I will be playing a Dwarven Guardian.
Age: 29
Preferred server(s), if any: No preference but at least one that isn't abandoned.
Location: United Kingdom (I am aware that there is an EU version of LOTRO but had heard the support there is shocking), I understand there are players of all locations on the US servers.
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Phew, quite a few options there. I would probably class myself as a Casual player, not against RP at all (I love Tolkien's stories, so RP is a natural extension of that). Definatly more of a PvE player but the Monster Play does hae me curious. I like to focus on one character and develop and devote my time to making him as complete as possible.
MMO games you’ve played: World of Warcraft, left due to the lack of immersion and not much of a well crafted storyline. Some would say the story is as deep as you make it but (from what I have seen in the few characters I have tried) LOTRO has a more personal touch.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: As I have said previously I like to play a character to the best of my ability, this means having fun with all aspects of gameplay as well as enjoying the company of other like minded players. I may have limited play times due to family commitments but want to make the time I have in Middle Earth as enjoyable as possible. I like to learn about the class I play. While I didn't mention all of the options a few questions back, I would probably dip my toe in most things, weather it be becoming a master craftsman or driving back the Enemy in a raid group.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I am looking for a Kinship that respects I have a life out of game as well as being nice and friendly in-game. I prefer players with a more mature outlook and as said above am not against some light RP. It would be nice to play with people who I can talk about all the middle earth lore with and can appricate the stories created by Turbine. I do have family commitments (which will always come first) but if I say I will be online at a certain time I will be there. I would mostly like to become part of good Kinship and make some new friends in Middle Earth.

Looking for a server/kinship
Your name: Not rolled yet
Age: 36
Preferred server(s): Unkown
Location: USA, CST/EST
Playstyle: Solo, group, casual, raid, some PvP
MMO games you’ve played: UO, AC, DAOC, EVE, Vanguard, WAR
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I am a longtime MMO player looking for a fairly active guild of casual and more or less mature players (by that I mean somewhere in between the Chuck Norris jokes and serious RP types). I previously played a Lore Master into the mid 30s and would like to play that class again. I probably solo 90% of the time if I am not with guildies, but usually prefer to group with the guild when they are online. I will play 8 hours or so per week on average. I'd like to find a mid sized guild of 10-30 players with at least a few logged on most days.
Thanks!

Hello there!
As I have read from the above and concluded that most of the kin leaders here would say you fit their kin description, but I can say that mine supports your activity with kin members as well as honors your solo time.
We love jokes here, and are a good size, very active kin with a simple website and vent server.
Without going into too much detail, we are located on Landroval (Unofficial RP Server) if you choose to roll there, or you are welcome to send me a shout at our website: http://thecraftingunion.gamerdna.com/
Hope to see you join!

Hail! Looking for a Kinship.
Player Name: Daniel
Character Name: Ivaellious
Age: 19
Preferred Servers: Do not really know yet.
Location: West Virginia, United States
Playstyle: Group and RP and a little RAID i suppose.
MMO Games i haVE played: World Of Warcraft, Ultima Online, Final Fantasy XI.
Why i should be chose by a recruiter: Well, for starters i am very dedicated to Tolkiens work and a HUge fan of LOTR. I have only been playing LOTRO for a short time but am very excited for what is to come with the game. I am dedicated to my friends and especially my gaming friends. I am Easy going and easy to get along with and like group oriented work and teamwork. Helping out newer p[layers and listening to the advice of wiser more experienced players is what i have learned to do. I am very good at RP and enjoy it very much and think it is very fun. I Am very dependable when it comes to answering messages and helping friends and i just think all around i am great for a dedicated kinship willing to lend me a hand and allow me to join there ranks on the war of the ring against the dispicable lord SAuron!!.
What Kind of Kinship i am Looking for: I would like to join a kinship of people who not only enjoy this great game we call LOTRO but also enjoy and respect the work of Tolkien. ONes that are not greedy and vile. A kinship of people who simply enjoy adventuring across the beautiful world of Middle-Earth. Ones that think it is fun to get the gear and level up but to also know that isnt what everything is about. Kinships that may be kind to new players and lend a helping hand to new adventurer's. People that are fun loving and carefree like myself.
I hope all that helps. May have gotten carried away haha. I am just chill and love this game. I would really appreciate to join a great kinship i hope this helped your decision.
Signed,
Ivaellious

Dwarf looking for Kinship
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Aliri Oresmasher. Dwarf.
Age: I'm 29
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): Arkenstone
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): This isn't overly important to me, but I play from New York.
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): I like to roleplay and raid. =) I'm not hardcore, but I'm not too casual either. I used to play a lot of MUD's and miss the friendships I made there. If we can roleplay here and there, and then raid the hell out of a dungeon...I'm into it!
MMO games you’ve played: I've played all the popular ones, I prefer this one the most. When not playing this, I play a lot of text-based stuff.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: Well, I'm loyal and helpful. I'm also pretty friendly.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I like a mix of all kinds when it comes to kinships, but I won't shy away from a kinship that specializes in one particular thing. I just want to have fun. Really, the most important thing to me is server. Please be on Arkenstone. Gratzi!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Returning (for the second time) player looking for a kinship on Elendilmir.
Name: irl Apollo. ign Aerach, human champion, currently level 15
Age: I'm 28 yrs old, 29 next month.
Timezone/Play time: I'm am located in Northern California. My days off are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, so on those days I can play most any time. Sunday mornings are also good.
Playstyle: Primarily a pve player, but also love pvp. I'm into light rp.
Other games I've played: UO, EQ, EQ2, WoW, AoC, WAR, Vanguard, SB, GW, PotBS
Why kinships should be interested in you? I'm a laid back player always willing to help out others. I approach the game as a fun activity, so I don't freak out if someone makes a mistake or something doesn't go well. I suppose I am an experienced mmo player if that matters.
What kind of kinship you are looking for? Just looking for a friendly, laid back, helpful group of people to play with.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
http://my.lotro.com/character/windfola/namor/
Namor - Elf Champion lvl 46
Age: 22
Preferred server: Windfola
Location: Midwest U.S. - EST
Playstyle: Looking for a fun casual kinship up for anything as long as I'm not required to give up RL stuff to play a damn game.
MMO games you’ve played: SW Galaxies, Shadowbane, Eve, LOTRO
Why kinships should be interested in you: I'm a casual, fun player down for just about anything...and I'm already a lvl 46.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: One that fits my personality. I definitely don't want mandatory events, just want optional raids, assistance with PvE etc. I'm already a decent level so I won't need very much help getting back into the groove. I dropped the game because initially PvP was kind of lame and at a high level there wasn't much PvE left.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hello all!
My name is Doug and I play on the Nimrodel server.
I am 31 years old and after an extended hiatus from the game, I have come back for good, as this is the only MMO that is worth the $ currently.
I live in NJ, USA (eastern standard time)
I play the following avatars:
* Graygem (lvl 17 Dwarven Runekeeper - Jewelcraft/Prospecting/Cooking @ journeyman)
- Anondiel (lvl 17 elven hunter - not much crafting yet)
- Pasha Melegaunt (lvl 20 human Burglar)
- Few others (lore master, minstrel, warden and champ)
I am mainly looking for a kinship for the Dwarven Rune Keeper, but just wanted to mention the others anyhow...
I am NOT what many would consider a hardcore player, although I have much MMO experience dating back to UO, EQ, AC, DAOC, AO, WoW, Tabula Rasa, Warhammer, Eve, SWG, Shadowbane, Darkfall Beta, Spellborn Beta, EQ2, AC2, Lineage2, FF11, etc... (pretty much have played them all)
- favorites are (in order): UO/EQ1, DAOC, Anarchy Online, Asheron's Call1, the rest.
I am looking for friendships in-game and people to quest, level and craft with.
I would love to have a group of people to share this game's rich atmosphere with.
I am not opposed to raiding, but am NOT a hardcore raider and will not be able to accompany any such groups all the time.
I feel that I am pretty good at the basics of the character already, but am more than willing to accept instruction from those with more knowledge than I.
I am a friendly person and will help others where I can.
I have been soloing the game and love to solo, but nothing beats having a good guild in a game...
I am more a PvE player, but I do love a good PvP fest here and there, especially if its with a rival.. mwahaaa!
I am mainly looking for a friendly, casual-type kinship that does raids, but that are not mandatory.
Oh, and I have been a member of some of the biggest guilds in EQ and Daoc... some great and some... not so much.
I am much more concerned with a relatively close, tight-nit group that is friendly to newer players than an uber-guild. Sometimes you can get lucky and have them be one in the same!
Ok, sorry for the book of text.. I'll get outta the way now..lol

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hi all, i'm still very new to the game and fumbling my way around. I recently left WoW for something better and discovered how fun and addictive LOTRO can really be, so i've purchased my full account this week.
I'm looking for a kin that's friendly to new players, and i'm not particular about which server it's on, since I've only just started a couple days ago and don't have any high-level characters i'd be abandoning if I changed servers.
If you've got a kin that would have a place for me, pm me here please.
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
I am new (again) to LOTRO and I would like to find a mature (non RP) kinship on a decently populated server.
I have been playing mmo's for 5 years now and I love them as much today as I did when I started. I was a beta tester for LOTRO but was very active in SWG at the time and didn't test very much.
I am looking for a mature east coast kinship that doesn't mind recruiting low level players. I am not against playing with the younger crowd, but I am not into the excessive cursing/drama stuff.
Please PM me if you are what I am looking for in a kinship.
Thanks!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Saldana (Lore Master Elf)
Dariat (Champion Dwarf)
Age: 26
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): Currently on Meneldor. But I just started to play yesterday, and haven't had an character development really, so it wouldn't be a stretch to switch
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
MMO games you’ve played: First crack at an MMO, so "I don't know, I'm new to this kind of game." :)
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: Um, I dunno. I'm friendly and easy going? I'm new to the game, so easy to whip into doing your bidding :)
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): Just looking for something casual that won't bug me if I don't login that much. I'll only be playing on evenings and weekends, and even then, not very often. I pretty much just want to explore Middle Earth

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hi! Nice to be able to post what we are looking for, rather than have us dig for it. Great idea!
Name of Charicter: Riandyn, of Rohan
Age(IRL): 25
Preferred Server: None
Location: Texas
Playstyle: RP!! Solo, Group, Quests, but above all RP!!!
Past Experience: Wow, um... ok. Played RPGs since I was 12, starting online, then to Tabletop, then MMORPGs. MMOs I have played are City of Heroes, WOW, SWG, LOTRO, Phantasy Star Online, Final Fantasy(s), and others.
Why should you recruit (hire) ME!!!
Um, I have a great sence of humor, I play well with others (teehee), I catch on fast to the operation of the game.
What kind of Kinship am I looking for: One with stabilty, fun, no drama, and RP!! I havent been in a 'kinship' before but I have been in guilds and factions so I think I et the gyst of Kinships.
Please, contact Riandyn for your Kinship!! I need some guidence in this world until I get the hang of it, and once I do I will be an asset to your Kinship.
Thanks, talk to you soon!
Riandyn

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Matt; character name will be some derivation of Crinan
Age: 25
Preferred server: As I havn't created a character yet, I don't have one I prefer.
Location. EST
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): In the past I've done the hardcore raiding, I've done the pvp, I've done just solo stuff. But some of my most memorable and enjoyable moments were the brief periods of RP. So, this time around I'm going to invest a personality into my character and really try to enjoy the game that way. I'm convinced that, gear and instances can only give so much entertainment value before they get boring, I'm hoping that heavy RP will endure longer than the pve/pvp aspects would.
MMO games you’ve played: Mostly swg and WoW. Though I played FF, eve, and several other betas/trials.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I'm a very 'good' player, I enjoy figuring out what works best for any given situation. I can be online most nights during the week for at least a few hours. You get a mature, dedicated, soldier for your ranks. I'm level headed, not prone to outburst or petty arguments.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): Obviously, I'm looking for one that is willing to accept a new player (granted I'll pick it up very quick). Aside from that, a heavy emphasis on RP would be great. I'm totally undecided on race/class so if you need a new character for your story... Definitely a mature group that actually play(and RP) the game. I'm not uninterested in pve/pvp and I definitely intend to explore what the game has to offer there, but your primary focus should be RP.
Please send me a PM if you think your kinship would be willing accept me, I'd like to hear more about your kinship.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
-Matt

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hey there,
I am Kllrjatt / Sifar . I played this game in closed beta , open beta and was so much happy when it was launched on my bday i was like yey ! . I played the game for a bit till i got one of my toons , a Captain to lvl 34 on the Windfola Server. I did not like any other class , and the only reason i wanted to play this was the ability to use the awesome halberd. I did play a hunter for a few , and was very much please with it .
I left the game before finishing the content at launch and am looking to come back to the game again. I have not chosen any servers that i would want to start playing on , but i would definitely want some friends to play with to start off.
I am a 23 old guy out from the west coast. My play times are late night , all morning and the weekends. I have played a lot of mmo's a few free ones and a few paid ones. Among the best ones i liked and played were city of heros , warhammer , tabula rasa , lineage 2 , guild wars , exteel , dungeon runners to list a few .
I am used to all kinds of play style . I played Counter Strike for a long time before switching to mmo's . I played every thing from mindless pve grind to rvr zerg fests. i am team player with a good sense of humor, looking for a guild where every one knows me and i know every one. I just do not want be another player / name on the roster.
I am willing to play any and all melee / ranged classes . No healing and casters for me. I will fail u , trust me . Being honest is the best thing to do.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Not made yet(I have two toons..just not ones I will play anymore.)
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits) 17
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): Any
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): Canada, Eastern Standard
Time(Preferred, but I'll settle for any timezone.)
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): I like to solo most of the time, but I've not been in LOTRO very long so I'm not sure of the other aspects. I enjoy RP but it's not a requirement for a guild. I also just like to socialize with members and have a good time.
MMO games you’ve played: World of Warcraft, Star Wars Galaxies
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I can be a nice person who follows rules and just generally tries to be pleasant as much as possible.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I want a kinship that is a laid back, friendly and willing to put up with many questions from a new player! Ha. But seriously, I'd love a good Kinship that's got all these qualities. I'm a big believer in going at my own pace and meeting many friends along the way! Please, if this catches your interest, send me a PM and I'll respond when I can! :D
P.S: I'm still on Trial version, but tomorrow I'll be upgraded to the full version.
EDIT: Found one. THanks for the replies anyhow! :)

Meneldor mid-level Rune-keeper
Your name, or character name and race (if known):
Almach is currently level 24 elven Rune-keeper
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits)
I would prefer a kinship oriented to adults
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.):
My toon is on Meneldor
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.):
I'm in the Eastern time zone. I play mostly in the afternoon and early evening
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):
Mostly I have been leveling solo in this game. I have done considerable groups and some raiding in WoW. I prefer PvE and would consider myself a casual but industrious player. I have an interest in RP. I enjoy variety and haven't been particularly happy as an end-gamer. I did have some fun with PvP in Wintergarde but I'm not really quick enough to compete with the kids.
MMO games you’ve played:
In WoW I have a level 80 NE Druid with feral spec; I have also played him as healer and boomkin, but most recently off-tank/dps.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
I'm a very steady person. If I say I'll be there, you can bank on it. I don't abuse other players and try to be supportive to guildmates. I'm not the fastest gun in the game but I'm always working to improve. My Rune-keeper can heal or dps as needed.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
I was happy in Knights Who Say Ni of Staghelm when VABeachDave was running it. They had a light-hearted approach to the game, very supportive, mostly young adults, many actual females including some of our best raid leaders, and strict rules of honor to include all other players, not just guildies. As a consequence, they were maximally mutually supportive. After Dave left, things got more hard-core and I was less happy.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name: Sesnir (26 Hunter, 48 Guardian)
Age: 26
Server: Brandywine
Location: NY
Playstyle: Solo, Group, PvE, PvP, Raids, Casual.
MMO games you’ve played: All of them... seriously... :\
What do you offer kinships?: You have my axe... and my bow?
What kind of kinship you are looking for: I'm looking for a casual (but active) kinship that is as free of drama as reality allows. Ideally, a mature new group of friends to share adventures and laughs with. My friend and I are new transfers to Brandywine and we need a home.
My Guardian was my first character, and I'd like to get him to the cap one day. For now, however, I'm enjoying my Hunter a bit more.
Feel free to PM me on the board or msg me in-game.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hi.
I'm a middle-aged (when did that happen?!?) man who has always enjoyed RPG's. LOTRO is the 2nd MMO I've played and i'm enjoying it a lot. I play later evening MST (Mountain, GMT-7) and not as often as I would like to. I've been soloing a lot but wouldn't mind grouping more and learning group and raiding dynamics.
I tend to be a bit all over the place as far as character types, but I focus on the adventure and questing. Raiding and instances are fun and I've always focused on improving as a player.
I don't mind dying, especially in the pursuit of goals that are at the edge of attainable, but I'll kill (or heal) to avoid it. :D
Looking for a place on WINDFOLA to hang out, with no drama and people who want to enjoy the game and achieve goals that are within reach of people with real lives (see earlier comment about not playing as much as I would like). I can't commit to 3 nights a week or more but if there's something important happening less often I can make arrangements.
Main: Azarawen

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Are there any Kinships on Landroval, that do not except Runekeepers and Wardens?
I still firmly believe that RK's and Wardens do not belong in this game. I'd love to join a kin that stays on lore as much as possible.
My sig has my main character and I have a few alts, most all on Landroval. I am currently running up a Champion, Caranuil on Landroval.

Age:28

Playstyle:Casual to semi-hardcore, RP welcome, mostly solo but enjoy raids and the occasional PvMP. Returned to this game after 1.5 years of RL and Warhammer Online.
MMO games you’ve played:WoW, Warhammer Online (retired at RR60)
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:I am a fan of Tolkien's work, mature level-headed, heavy tanking experience and heavy PvP experience.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
- Mature.
- Serious about this game and getting to the endgame.
- RP is welcome, although non-RP is definately OK.
- Schedule wise, I play week nights and on weekends and live on the west coast.
- I am far from level cap so lowbie-friendly.
- Small scale kinships are preferred to kinships with hundreds of players where no one knows anyone :)
Hit me up in-game my lowbie toon is a Dwarf Guardian by the name of Darguin on Landroval.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hi I primarily play humans, though if I recall I do have a pretty high dwarf.
I am a male who is 23 years old.
I play my main high level characters on the Arkenstone server.
I live in the United States, in Minnesota, central time.
I like to Solo, group, PvE, PvP,and participate in RAIDs. I think I am more casual than a hardcore gamer when it comes to MMO's.
I have played DDO and WoW
I have been away from the game for a while, I did help beta test it, and have a lifetime account so my account expiring would never been a problem. I do enjoy the game however was lured away from it after a while and the few kinships I was in quit. I am back after being sick of WoW and am looking for a fun group that can get me back up to speed on how to play this game once again. I will be bringing with me a best friend of mine, we play MMO's together and are real-life friends that work well and hard together. We are looking for a fun group that gets things down. Please get back to me, thank you so much!
Also have ventrilo installed, know how to and am a fan of using it. Not the greatest when it comes to forums, however if I get the right group who checks this and replys back fast I tend to be good about doing the same. Thanks for your time.

Looking for a new kin brandywine server. Age 32 class guard race of man lev 56. Looking for help with crafting and raiding Charater name Mithfalas

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Character Name/Race/Class: Adrah/Hobbit/Minstrel - level 11 on Nimrodel server. Undecided if this will be my main, though will be playing a healer.
RL Info: 30, Female, Canada - EST Timezone
Playstyle: Casual - Solo, groups, PVE and potentially PvP/endgame down the road. Not yet a crafter, but willing to learn/try/help where needed once I figure out what this darn farming tool is for!
MMO games I've played: World of Warcraft (Mage/Priest), Age of Conan (Priest of Mitra/Tempest of Set), Warhammer Online (Zealot), EverQuest 2 (Fury), Guild Wars (various)
Looking for: Active yet casual/friendly and mature (read: respectful of others) kinship that likes to have fun. I'm looking to enjoy levelling up and meet new people in game. I'm friendly, even-tempered, sometimes silly and love to help out where I can. Would like to eventually see end game, but will likely not for some time. Have a demanding job and home life that requires a lot of my time. Playtime is mostly weekends and 7pm-9pm EST during the week. Guild website/forums preferable.
Other details: Have vent and not afraid of UI addons (fair-use ones).
How to contact: Whisper me in game on Adrah, or PM on the boards.

Looking for the right Kin
Main on Landroval
Arthirion: Level 11 Warden
Age: Over 40
Timezone: CST (latenights and weekends)
I have been playing RPG games since the old Chainmail (pre D&D). I like grouping as long as we don't just run thru, helter skelter, to get to the end for xp. I am one who wants to enjoy the ride and adventure. For me, a game like this is all about STORY, not POWER and leveling. I like to role play, but I am not hard core (thee and thou and all that). I enjoy RP in taverns, but prefer quicker communication when adventuring, so I can say, "Watch out!", before the danger is on us. :)
I and a friend are looking for a Kinship which has RP but also is casual. Most times we look for questing, but quite often we will just pop in and do some RP for an hour or so. Currently, we mostly play together in another game because of the adventure. But the other game does not lend well for RP. We see LOTRO as the best RP vehicle available. But we like to play both games. We are not new to these games, but up till now, most games we found lacked a decent community (including the one we currently play on most of the time). LOTRO has the best community I have encountered (EQ2 is ok, but the game does not have much in good storylines), so we are considering making LOTRO our RP home.
If you think you would like a couple of seasoned RPers and can provide an environement that is friendly, helpful, and without drama (and without a lot of foul, so called adult language), then please let me know. I will be happy to learn more of your Kin and tell you more about us.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Baric Ironfist

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name:TBD ( Rerolling)
Age:29
Location: Canada , Est
Playstyle:Groups:Pve/Small PVP/Casual , Not much into the raiding anymore due to too many requirements and time management issues .
MMO games you've played: I've played wow and daoc
Why Kinships should be interested in you: I am very mature and love grouping and giving good advice i also like good humor
What Kind of Kinships you are looking for: I am basically looking for a mature small adult kinship with around 20-26 people at the most that is helpful and doesn't have any playtime requirements and understand real life as well :)
Other Details: Just want to mention that i am currently in a large kinship on vilya with a 37 captain . And that is why i am posteing here as i don't like large kinships due to getting lost and not having any tight knit feel or real big friendships .
I also like using ventrilo/ts

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Hello I'm a new player looking for an active Roleplaying oriented kinship on the Landroval server. 21 hunter.
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Tussletoe, Hobbit
Age: (some kinships have real life age limits): I'm over 30... :)
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): I have no preferred server at all. After playing some MMO's in the past, its about the people. Rather than leveling up only to find I wanted to be on another server, I figured I'd try this way instead.
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): I'm in Texas, central time zone.
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): I'm brand new to the game. Played a little bit in Beta, got frustrated with an early quest, never came back. Wanting to make a go of it with some friends this time around- just someone to ask questions is a big plus. I enjoy soloing from time to time, and really have no idea what the end game will offer. My plan is to focus on my hobbit, and see where that leads. I like to RP, but I don't want it to be strictly enforced. I am married with kids, so I don't have a ton of time, but will be logging on fairly regularly for short intervals for now.
MMO games you’ve played: Played Everquest years ago, and some Star Wars Galaxies. My time has been almost exclusively spent on City of Heroes for the past five years.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I'm a casual player that likes to go with the flow. Anxious to learn the game, and help out doing what is needed.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): Ideally, I'd like a hobbit only kin. RP encouraged, but not required. Realizing that may be tough to find, I'd like a group that is pretty close and laid back. I am all for trying to outfit my character, but I'd like to be able to find teams in the meantime while I'm learning the ropes and making mistakes. Just downloaded the game today, and have a baby Hobbit on Brandywine, but perfectly happy remaking him on a different server if needed. Of course, I'd like to play, so I'm hoping I will hear from someone before I get home from work. Would love to get started.
The name and race are set in stone, but if a specific class is needed, I'm happy to go that route. Hope to hear from some people! Thanks for reading!

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name: character's name will be Menage, Lorekeeper
RL stuff: work full time, married (husband plays as well), 2 children
Preferred server: I've already created my character on Arkenstone
Location: currently live in est and would prefer a kinship that has higher population in that time zone for grouping and future raiding purposes
Playstyle: I will work tradeskills most often before i will solo. I love grouping and plan on doing a lot.
MMO games you’ve played: EQ1&2, WoW. Did do some beta testing on Lotro in phase one, so i'm somewhat familiar with the game and not a true noob, lol
What do you offer kinships?: maturity would be the number one thing i would bring to the kinship. I've had YEARS of MMo's so a lot of experience there. I'm a solid player who has always played a healing class and always strive for end game content.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: I'm looking for a mature kinship that has members that act like adults. I would like a serious kinship that is not driven by the need to be number one on the server. I would like to see end content but I would like to become friends with everyone in the kinship along the way,
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Name or character name: couillon, human warden on the Brandywine server
Age: 40
Location: USA; EST timezone.
Playstyle: Good question...i'm figuring that out now. This is my first MMO. After about a week, I've enjoyed playing solo and the occassional fellowship pickup...ok, i enjoyed the fellowship much more so I'd like to group more often and get to know people..that would by my style. I'm married and work full time so gaming time is limited and requires some planning ahead but I've been there most nights.
MMO games you’ve played: this is it
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships? My wife thinks I'm interesting for some reason :) Ok, I'm a mature adult and I'm willing to work with others to have fun and get things done. I'm not a complete newbie...I've been checking out the board and reading up on MMO gaming/ling from a book at the local library. I know what a tank is and what aggro is. I can keep my rough language to myself and I don't believe in pointless arguing..ie, like a rules lawyer.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters): I'm looking for a kinship with mature, friendly people. Casual yes, hardcore occassionally maybe, RP...i can give it a shot. A group that I can make friends with and enjoy LOTRO. Having a website would be nice and a calendar of events. A kinship that is welcome to all levels and tries to have events that cater to different folks.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
character name : Zaren_Of_Light(Man,Guardian)
Age: 15
Preferred server(s): Undecided
Location : CA,USA
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.):Raid,Casual,Hardcore,RP, time-limited,and "idk,i'm new" XD
MMO games you’ve played:Fiesta(raiding rules on here XD GO KQ's!!!!), Runescape, and Warcaft III Online
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:Great Experience as a tanker for raiding parties, I am a dedicated person when it comes to MMO's that i like, and i am a pretty cool guys 4 the casual kinships XD
What kind of kinship you are looking for: a mix between hardcore raiding parties and casual kinships
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Briana(In the mundane realm) Lorrinn is my Dwarf but I have a few more characters.
Age: 19(20 in August)
Preferred server(s), if any. : I play primarily on Nimrodel, but I have a couple of tiny alts on Gladden.
Location. : American West coast Time zone. If there is a presence of South Californians I would be overjoyed. I just moved to the region and know no one.
Playstyle. : Generally I'd consider myself a casual gamer. I like Rp, but it's not necessary to my gaming happiness. I enjoy crafting, soloing, or questing with small groups of people with whom I've chatted some. For some reason I get very shy about questing with total strangers. My schedule is pretty open at the moment, I mostly take care of the apartment while I work on starting my business. I've never done a raid, I'm both intimidated and intrigued by them, but mostly I don't think any of my characters are a high enough level.
MMO games you’ve played: Okay, let's start at the beginning shall we? I started on UO, but I've also played EQ, Dark Age of Camelot, WoW(I get bored with that one after a couple of months every time, but I like some of the story), City of Heroes, City of Villains, EQ2...And uhm... There was this space one, but that might have just been a beta, All i remember is that I was from the Jupiter colonies.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I'm looking to make friendships right now. I'm always happy to share my crafting goods with others, guild mates, family, or strangers. I don't start fights, and if I've got a solution to one I'll share it. Oh, and I play mostly minstrels, although I've branched off and have an itsy bitsy guardian now.
What kind of kinship you are looking for: I'm looking for a laid back group, I'm alright with some minimum requirements, but if I have to take part in group questing all the time I won't really be interested. I want to socialize and talk to people, I can't really do that while questing.
-
Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Well, to start with I'll follow the form laid out in the first post:
-Your name, or character name and race:
Character Name: Nazo
Race: Human
Class: Burgler
-Age: 26
-Preferred server: Elendilmir
-Location: USA, CSTDST timezone
-Playstyle: I tend to solo a lot. I do like small groups of people who get along well and who work together well. I'm not very fond of randomly inviting people as all too often I'm stuck with someone who just barges around without any finesse whatsoever. (Lol, what's the point in having a burgler in the group if you barge into everything, right?) Also, I'm not very fond of PvP, so it's almost all PvE for me.
-MMO games you’ve played: Ragnarok Online, World of Warcraft, Everquest II, Guild Wars, Lineage II (yeah, as a non-PvP fan this one didn't stay on my system long, lol.)
And I really want to add Neverwinter Nights here back at its height when a good server could have a lot of people on at almost all times, but I will admit that it still didn't qualify for "MMO" even back then.
-Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?: I'm a friendly person to those who treat me well. I do enjoy helping out those I can when I reasonably can, though I will admit that this largely just means help with quests/etc since I don't really do any crafting or anything of that sort.
-What kind of kinship you are looking for: This is probably the trickiest part. I tend to keep playing the same game for a while, then stop for a while (not even directly quitting so much as just not playing again one day.) Games like LotRO I come back to from time to time and pick up again, so even if I disappear for a while I usually will be back, but in other words I could disappear for months at a time and then play a lot for a time after that. As such, I'm looking for a kinship willing to keep that in mind. Beyond that, the main thing I'm looking for is just a kinship that makes playing the game more fun and if nothing else provides people to talk to while playing the game (though a little help from time to time with quests and such would be more than welcome.)
PS. I have one weird little caveat. I'm somewhat of what I've heard called a "purist" before. I don't like things like someone of a much too high level helping out, being just given (unearned) a huge pile of money, or etc. Though the reason I don't like these things is because it feels too much like cheating, I would also point out that they are bad for one's abilities to play well as well and I do think I'm better at these sorts of games for it.
EDIT: I just realized that there is a server specific kinship forum. I'll post it over there too. I pretty much just use the one server.
EDIT2: I got a response and have joined a kinship.

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Level 11
Elf Hunter
Name : Alchrion
Age: 19
Location: Ft. Bragg, North Carolina
Why to pick me: I am on a lot, I have a lot of spare time from my job (U.S. Army) because I work in support of the special forces training course, and there isn't much to do. I know teamwork backwards and frontwards, my friend's lives depend on that and I like to have fun, joke around, more or less a mood lightener. And I have no problem "sandbagging" myself to drop back and help a buddy out with something I already did so they can catch up to where I am.
What I am looking for: Just a kinship who works well together
Server: Silverlode

Re: Looking for a Kinship? Post here.
Your name, or character name and race (if known): Aolean, 26 Hobbit Minstrel / Rordo, 26 Hobbit Guardian / Nimrodh, 42 Hunter :D
Age: (Well) over 21.
Preferred server(s), if any. (This is not needed, just for kinship info.): On Brandywine with my existing chars, don't mind starting again elsewhere. 'Cause I like playing the game ;)
Location. (Timezone preferences if any, state/country, etc.): EST
Playstyle. (Solo, group, PvE, PvP, RAIDs, casual, hardcore, end-game, RP, no RP, time limited, crafter, “I don’t know, I’m new to this kind of game”, etc.): Moderately enthusiastic player, looking to spend most time in fellowships doing books and chain quests. I don't really like grind quests, but will do them if I need the gear, and don't mind helping others do them if they need the gear.
MMO games you’ve played:
EQ1 and a lot more. I am reupping on LOTRO and getting back into the game as of this month.
Why kinships should be interested in you. In other words, why choose you and not another player. What do you offer kinships?:
You can count on me to do my best to play my character well, to be generally useful as a player, to not whine about how much my char needs phat lewts, and generally to be amiable about the things that happen in the game we're playing. I don't craft a lot, but I don't mind harvesting things while I'm out and about and contributing them to the guild crafters in exchange for some help when my char needs something crafted.
What kind of kinship you are looking for. (This one is very important for recruiters):
An easy-going, mature, anti-profanity-in-voicechat kinship that groups up to play by choice. I like to play with other people, so I'm looking for a kinship of people that also like to play the game together.
PM me here or shoot me an in-game mail or /tell. I'm usually playing Nimrodh now as he's farthest into the story and I'd like to play through that to the end.
