Re: The Isengard Private Preview Program
I have noted some questions and speculation in the acquisition threads wondering if the purchase of Turbine is why the Isengard Program is delayed.
Let me put those rumours to rest - the 2 have absolutely zero to do with each other.
This program is suffering issues due to the new hardware and billing system we are putting into place not playing nice.
As usual, when we have news to tell we will tell it, but for the time being the Preview Program remains in limbo until certain systems decide they want to come out and play now.

There is no 'snafu'. Just the typical hardware/software/resources issues you have with any large networking process.
Much like Turbine execs were beyond the scope of needing to be involved with this process, no reason to bother any of our new Powers That Be with it. :)

Sounds like the kid who brought the ball to the game was picked last, so he went home and took the ball with him. :D

Thank you for keeping us informed.
I think a lot of the speculation going around was/is more for entertainment than true conjecture.

Sounds like someone in the art department wanted to hook their Macintosh up to everything ;p

All due respect, I would think that whoever the Powers That Be are should be aware that there is currently no functioning test server for this game. Bullroarer isn't sufficient. Good (and swift) luck, regardless.

Due to this delay then will you allow applications to start coming in again? If so I know some players that have great intentions of applying and would be great testers.

The people that need to be aware are aware and are doing their best to solve the problem.
Getting more cooks involved does not guarantee a perfect dish.

Good to hear, and I agree, but sometimes it takes the restaurant manager to get the sous-chefs on the right track. :)

That is the truth.
It's really rather nerve racking to have the President of the entire division of a company looking at everything you are doing over your shoulder while you attempt to fix a server that shouldn't even be your problem.
If your lucky you can still solve the problem and look *really* good for doing it ;)
Even so that's all beyond the point. Turbine's internal business is not yours.

And we would love to have them apply and come aboard, but until we get everything worked out and running smoothly we won't be opening up applications again. :(

Re: The Isengard Private Preview Program
Thanks for the updates Kehleyr.
Here's to hoping some of us can get in there soon and start making Middle Earth a better place. Being patient sucks, but alas, we must endure. ;)

Re: The Isengard Private Preview Program
Thanks for keeping us all informed, Kehleyr! Hopefully things get sorted out soon, and best of luck!

Re: The Isengard Private Preview Program
THANKS for updates.
I hope this does not impact on the quality of the next major update because for sure significant new content not being tested by players is a worry.
I guess bullroarer can be opened early if need be.
