Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The Skirmish system. The rewards for doing those in groups don't motivate people to group up and do them. Right now you get 3 times the skirmish marks by doing them on your own than doing them in groups. Doing a duo skirmish should give you 150% more marks, a 3 man skirmish should give you 200 to 300% more marks, a 6 man should give you at least 400% more marks and a 12 man skirmish should gibe you 600% more marks. This way people will feel motivated to do them in groups and actually feel they are being rewarded by the extra difficulty and the need to rally more people to do them.
2. Fornost Instance: This is a very cool place, but nobody seems to do it. Why? because its too long and difficult and there is no reward for spending 3 to 6 hours in there. Why not add a cool armor set for lvl 40 to compete with the one that is given in aughaire. A ranger armor set like the one that people can get from annuminass but for lvl 40 would be cool and could motivate people to do this cool instance :D
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Leader of the group passive buff. It would be nice to get an extra buff depending who the leader of the group is. This buff can be trained by the amount of time people are leader of groups in instances. Each class can give a different buff to the group. This can be worked just like a deed and will only be given at the beginning of an instance and it will count after 15 minutes of the first mob killed, so it wont change if people swap leadership in the middle of the instance.
lvl 1: its obatined by leading 100 instances.
lvl 2: its obtained by leading 250 instances after lvl 1.
lvl 3: its obtained by leading 400 instances after lvl 2.
Captains: lvl 1: 1.5% more morale and power. lvl 2: 2.5% more morale and power. lvl 3: 3% more morale and power.
Champions: lvl 1: 1% extra dps. lvl 2: 2% extra dps. lvl 3: 3% extra dps.
Hunters: lvl 1: 0.5% extra atk range. lvl 2: 1% extra atk range. lvl 3: 1.5% extra atk range.
Guardians: lvl 1: 1% melee atk defense. lvl 2: 2% melee atk defense. lvl 3: 3% melee atk defense.
Burglars: lvl 1: 1% critical chance. lvl 2: 1.5% critical chance. lvl 3: 2% critical chance.
Lore-masters: lvl 1: 2% wound and disease resistance. lvl 2: 3.5% wound and disease resistance. lvl 3: 5% wound and disease resistance.
Minstrels: lvl 1: 1.5% extra healing. lvl 2: 2% extra healing. lvl 3:3% extra healing.
Rune-Keepers: lvl 1% tactical dmg critical chance. lvl 2: 2% tactical dmg critical chance. lvl 3: 3% tactical dmg critical chance.
Wardens: lvl 1: +100 in combat morale and power regeneration. lvl 2: +150 +100 in combat morale and power regeneration. lvl 3: +225 in combat morale and power regeneration.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Old raids. Maybe implement the same buff you guys implemented for the vol 1 book quest but for old raids like The Rift or Hellegrod.
2. Old instances like Annuminass, Carn Dum or Urugarth. Maybe some new rewards for high lvl characters.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1:
1. Debuffs, debuffs, debuffs. It seems that less than a quarter of them function as the tooltip says they do - staple skills for the LM and Burg such as fire lore and disable aren't nearly reducing the targets' damage as much as they should. Because of this, the role of both classes has been marginalized, as it is easier to just blast away with damage classes than set up debuffs and controlled pulls at this point.
2. Trait grinding. Killing 300 elite mobs to gain a slight stat bonus is beyond tedious, and has discouraged me from advancing more than one character. The intention of the system, from what I have heard, is to provide a bonus for killing monsters as you level. But by the time I reached 60 (in MoM) most of my necessary virtues were around level 3 or 4, and before being accepted into end-game content, I had to kill thousands (literally) of lower level monsters to get my traits up. Why not make it so the 'good' virtues advance naturally, and the others require you to kill 300 elite trolls in a remote dungeon that nobody goes into anymore? Of the 20 virtues, only about 8 see continuous use among high level characters and it seems unfair that some of those are the hardest to complete.
Question 2: I agree with the random events idea. I think that would be great fun, and add an element of uncertainty to the game. Not much else to say here.
Question 3:
1. Epic books. Please increase the rewards or make them solo - while I will do them for the storyline alone, many people won't because the rewards aren't worth it, meaning I have many uncompleted epic quests in my log because nobody will fellow with me. In fact, why not make all obsolete epic content solo? I literally NEVER see a group forming for content predating volume 2, so I have had to accept that I will never get vol. 1 done, even with my kinship's help.
2. The music system. People use to get together and play once in a while, now it seems like nobody has the time for it... I am a solo lutist now :( I don't know how this could be changed by the developers but I still think it's worth noting.

The problem with solo quests is that you miss out on half of the fun of an MMO if you play it alone. (Some people don't like fellowship quests at all, and this wouldn't be for them.)
A relay quest would involve multiple players who would each perform a step of a quest, not in real time. Each step would be performed independently and passed on to someone else to complete. If the whole quest line were completed, all players would receive a quest reward.
This would foster teamwork and social interaction between people who cannot remain glued to their computer screens for two hours at a time.
The levels of the participants might not be equal. Perhaps a level 15 burglar could get information from his class trainer that a meeting is being held in Esteldin. Even if he could get there, he wouldn't have the rep needed to get into the meeting, so he'd pass the quest to a level 31 hunter. The hunter might find out that a ranger is being held prisoner in the Dungeons of Dol Guldur, so he'd pass that information to a level 65 warden. If the warden completed the quest, all three of them would receive level-appropriate rewards. The warden could do all 3 parts alone, but it would be a waste of his time to go running all over the world for this quest.
All parts of the quest might not be able to be completed by all classes. A quest might need to be started by a burglar and finished by a healer, for example.
This would let people enjoy the interaction with other people that a fellowship quest gives without feeling guilty when they have to go AFK for ten minutes because hey, is that smoke coming from the kitchen, and just how long ago did I put those cookies in the oven, anyway?

Sorry, sapience, last comment on comment from me...
I vote +1 on this idea (at least try it out on bullroarer!!!)

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Well I think the sytem is fine but I would like the oaht of the rangers reward to be grander as it took me a while to get the last skirmish done and i was very dissapointed with what i got but i still find good uses for it. I would like to have new skins for the control pannel. Macro pannels that will initiates squence of ablities that would follow on after each other with 1 button click. (they are somthimes called expert keys/shorcuts)
TeamVsTeam pvp. You make a team of charaters with equal numbers with 'any team combination of characters'. You would have a league tabel as such and the groups would win the challenges in an arena and then would gain infamy/renown for winning each challenge. Then you would have a prize 4 times a year and they would get very very good rewards. I would love to see this in the game
Despite my unwillingness to do crafting I would like it to be easier for the higher leveled charaters get to expert level on their crafting.
I would also like more time for chicken play because i would love to be a chicken more

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.Housing needs work...more/better hooks, crafting area, etc.
2.more need to go to under utilized areas...like the fields east of trestlebridge or the lake back there.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
**mounted combat for Rohan**
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1.hobbies: need more of them...fishing gets boring
2.music: need easier way of integrating player made music for us non computer friendly types xD

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. I would link stables. For example if I am in The Shire and I want to go to a location that requires three legs, the system should allow me to pick my final destination, figure out the cost for all three legs and take me there with out stoping.
2. Ability to purchase crafting stations for my house. Have different stations that give bonus to crits.
3. Cheating I know. The LFF tool. Since most grouping is pushed to instances, it should let me pick which instance (Not quest step), auto create a group, and when the group is full and everyone selects accept, transport us to the instance. Pipe dream I'm sure LOL.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
While not a gameplay mechanic, I would like to see vendors in my house where I could sell my wares and have them posted longer than 48 hours. Link the items to the AH. However if the person goes to the house and directly purchases there is no fee applied.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Raiding
2. Fishing

Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Kinships - costumizable ranks or more of them. Kin alliance tool beyond making a user chat channel for it.
2. LFF panel - make it so you can have more than one quest tagged for lff. also make the the tool more noticable it was about a year or so before i realized we even had one.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Instance scaling- Places like CD/Fornost/rift/uru etc should have a 65 version with rare usable drops, not tokens! They just encourages everyone to run the shortest instance and ignore fun, see SH and GS for proof. No doubt I'd love to still be running those old instances if they were on level and had some loot.
2. Virtues- Some of the bonuses are laughable in today's game and why cap us at 10? If I've put in the time for 15 in valour let me have the bonus, I don't think think an extra ~100 morale is game breaking and is just an annoyance to players that we don't get anything for completion.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be.
New BPE system. Most people I know enjoyed SoA system much more with higher BPE which allowed for better PvE and especially PvP. As a melee range burg with medium armor and no shield for mitigation 11-14% evade is just not enough.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
DoF- Such a good design with great bosses and no one ever goes there. Party because the PvP freep rewards are horrible.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Housing! I think enough has already been said about it here in this topic.
2. Hobbies. I'd love to see more done with them. Fishing is a good start, but what about things like gardening and games - such as draughts?
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Scalable instances, most likely.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. I never seem to have enough time to grind out radiance gear pieces. Since I'm not in a raiding kinship, it's very hard to find dedicated PUGs. An improved LFF tool might help...
2. Deed grinding. I like the philosophy behind earning skills and virtues via deeds, but I never have the time to actively grind them out.
-
Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
I agree with the posts about the houses... Plus they could certainly use more storage space.
Personally, I love the ability to accomplish (previously) group instances that have been made doable solo, with the help of the "inspiration" bonus. Could that be expanded, of course as a player option, to be available on other instances and epic quests? There are a number of epic points upon which I am stuck because I cannot possibly solo them and you can never get a proper fellowship together! Either there's no one around or they are stuck on other epic quests. Very hard to coordinate unless you are lucky, and then someone drops!
On that point, could there be some sort of in-game warning that, for example, prompts you about the approximate time needed for a particular instance? Especially if it is known to be inordinately long? Something like: "This instance typically requires 4 hours to complete"...Such a warning would allow me to budget the time for that particular quest, especially if I am trying to coordinate with others for a good time to attempt it.

Re: Tell the Community Team - New and Revamped Systems - 4/8/10
Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. First would be a new way to find groups. No one uses the LFF panel...it may be great, but if no one uses it, there is little point. The only way is begging in the LFF channel...this gets old quickly for both the people begging and the others in the region.
I guess one idea would be kind of a waiting list for a particular quest or instance. If you were wanting to do a particular quest, you could start a list. Maybe you could specify the number of people you'd like and the roles they could fill. As long as you were online and wanting to do the quest, the list would be up for other people to see. If they wanted to do the quest or help out, they could sign up under whatever role. When enough people had signed up, each person on the list gets a message (maybe kind of like the skirmish join icon). The leader would then be able to create the fellowship with those people and make plans to meet up to do it.
This would work best if people could create or sign up for many of these lists at the same time. So, if I have a number of different fellowship quests/instances I'm interested in doing, I could create or sign up on a bunch of lists and just do them as enough people sign up for them.
2. Housing. My house looks practically empty even though I have a dozen decorations sitting in my vault because I don't have enough of the right size slots to put them all up. I'd love to make my house a museum of all the grotesque trophies I've acquired, but right now it looks like an empty dance hall with a couple of wall-hangings and a few miscellaneous items tucked in corners. I cry every time I see a new decoration that is "small furniture".
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
You do realize that just about every response is going to be mounted combat (flying, if possible), don't you? I'll try to come up with something different.
How about siege weapons. Probably someone has thought of this already, but I'll write it up the way I envision it. What if there was a skill that you could use to "build" a sort of siege weapon...a ballista for example. It might take a long time, so you'd want to do it before starting a fight, most likely. Once built, you could fire it off at certain intervals to do a big blast of damage. Maybe they are aggroable like RK rocks so the enemies can come and try to destroy it. I can see that becoming an interesting strat...ballista tanking?
To take this a step further, I could see this as being the basis for a new class. As you progressed you could learn to make different types of large weapons...maybe some are suited to single targets and others are suited for AoE. You could learn to make different payloads that might stun opponents or set off an FM rather than just doing damage...or that had different damage types. You could learn to build them during combat to replace ones that were destroyed. I also see you having your own set of normal combat skills...it wouldn't make sense if someone of this class could just go around one-shotting everything with a massive weapon. The siege weapons would be powerful enough to do a lot of damage, but not so much that solo quests are trivial.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Raiding. I love raiding. I love doing crazy, hard stuff and just being happy that we made it a little bit further than we did last time. For whatever reason, it just never seems to happen though. Some people have RL. Some people don't like doing anything if it's almost certainly going to end in failure and large repair bills. Some people think only in terms of the loot and don't care for the challenge and friendship aspect. Whatever the reason, we only had 3 people show up at the last scheduled BG raid and it bites.
2. Session play. Last night some of my kinnies and I were reminiscing on the "The Fall of Moria" and "We Cannot Get Out" session play instances. Wow...being right in the middle of historic points in time. Very neat.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Skirmish System - This is my favorite part of the game atm and I'm hoping to see the
number of skirmishes and rewards increased in future updates/expansions. I would
love to see all of the Teal Items, Medallions for Radiance Gear and Symbols for 2nd
age and 1st age [when introduced] weapons/class runes available through Skirmishing
[by drops in the skirmish or purchasable with skirmish marks].
2. Crafting System - Just as craftable runes were made available for a 4th slot on LI's
through guild recipes....offer new Guild Recipes to craft Settings Gems and Runes
for the first 3 LI slots, as an alternative to those available through the Ranked Tier
System [by deconstructing relics].
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
1. Allow the Soldier-Allies created for Skimishes to be used in REGULAR game play for small
fellowship quests [ONE OR TWO as needed].
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. End-Instances/Raids [In my Kinship, the majority of players begin to group at the
same time that I need to log out to go to bed for work the next day [because of
difference in time zones]. When I try to attend a scheduled event, they will often
last until 1 or 2AM the next day because of late starts, people dropping group,
wipes, etc..
2. Grinding to Cap Virtues. Because mobs required are in group instances or it takes
so long to get the required quests done, I will start working on them then leave
for weeks at a time because I only have limited time and there are too many
more "immediate" things that need to be done.

Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The ability to display more data in the crafting dialog. I do not mean simply scaling the text bigger, I mean more lines of text. I find it very annoying that I cannot grab the bottom bar and drag it down to display more recipes
2. Redesign of houses. Free form placement of hooks, allow items to be placed on hooks (like swords, armour and other items we pick up). Put the houses on the landscape as was done in AC1 (I want to be able to SEE out my windows!!). If you want to go overboard give me operable windows, curtains and physics simulation of the curtains blowing in the wind.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Self created quests. For example I needed to hunt down the resources to craft a number of items over several weeks. I kept losing the piece of paper where I had written down the data. It would be cool if I could make a list and add it as a quest it would let me keep track of this. Perhaps allow people to have 10 self created quests (so they don't count towards the current quest limit). The quests would of course not have a reward.
The only other game mechanic I really want is collisions. I want the meat shield to be able to do their job.
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. Exploring to find unique and remote views that take advantage of the work of the artists and my video card
2. Fishing

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
Virtue System and how it can tie into traits or bonuses - don't just raise the cap, have certain combinations mean things. We don't necessarily need something as in 3/5, 4/5 or 5/5 of a group but like FMs have all kinds of little bonuses if you have 2 virtues of <n> rank equipped you get +150 to Shadow Mitigation. The possibilities there are endless.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Greater customization through being given points that can be assigned to any stat.
Question 3

Raiding - wish i could do more but when i get more than an hour's worth of time i spend it in PvMP.

Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
I'd add a new weather system.
- 4 weather options to chose from (class 0 to class 4)
- Each class would have its magnitude of how much weather effects there would be (class 0 being none for performance and class 4 being ultimate ( I rate the current amount of weather that we have ingame as class 1 )

1. Housing system - revise housing to make it a place people want to go to and call 'home' as opposed to a place that people go to drop stuff off and pick stuff up. Add a reason to go home - a 1/2 hour buff with a 1-day cool down of some kind gained from doing certain amount of decorating to the house, or so much work in a garden, or so much cleaning - gutters, windows, etc. Or some buff for resting and drinking in one's own home or kinhouse for a certain amount of time. Heck...allow players to purchase a modification to housing that would add a superior crafting station or two.
2. Crafting - revise crafting such that it is more interactive and includes more increments of 'quality'. For example, revise the system such that characters would need to move between several stations, adding certain components and/or ingredients at certain times at each station. Depending on how close to a specific time one got, the better the buffs on a given crafted item would be. As the character went up in crafting tier rank, the greater the margin of error for each station work would be. So hitting each station perfectly might allow a metalsmith to create some Khazad Steel mithril laced armor with +45 Might and +35 Agility vs not hitting perfectly might mean the armor has a +22 might and +18 Agility. The higher the crafting tier rank, the more stations the character would need to go to during the crafting process and the more opportunity for mistakes and imperfections, but also there would be the opportunity to make a great item.

1. Epic Book Quests - I really enjoy them, but some of the quests have become quite...epic...in length and/or group size to do and it just seems I don't regularly have the amount of time to dedicate to the Books in Moria
2. Raiding - I enjoy the concept, but the amount of time it takes to get the prerequisites such as radiance gear, never mind actually running through the raid, is just daunting.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. LFF system - remove automatic zone filtering, remove quest preset names (so we can search for groups for alt characters), add fellowship/raid formation facility, and, basically, make it as easy and useful as World of Warcraft's "dungeon finder" feature.
2. Inventory system - Move abstract skirmish marks into abstract bag; make faction items consumable; make crit crafting materials stored in the vault usable at the workbenches, forges, and studies.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Doom. Acquired thru future Book (branching) storylines, and perhaps considerably rare world "drops", that grant powerful individual, fellowship-wide, or raid-wide effects at the cost of a commensurate debilitating effect. A player would arrange and choose their doom in the similar way that traits are managed, but perhaps have a more strategic cooldown before they can be reconfigured.
Doom effects will tend to be dramatic but not necessarily predictable. They do not have cooldowns, but rather proc conditions and countereffects. They are also not toggled or activated, but are everpresent auras (persistent buffs).
Example 1: A doom that saves a character from a single defeat that is triggered by taking a minimum of 4000 damage in the previous combat event that would have defeated them. This doom takes hold only once every three minutes. Countereffect: Cannot use morale and power potions.
Example 2: A doom that decreases healing power costs by 100%, increases healing output by 100%, and increases healing hate generation by 50%, once their power passes below 25%. The effect lasts until the end of the battle. Countereffect: healing hate generation increases by 50%, maximum morale reduced by 30%.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Induction based skills: The induction timer itself is the cost to cast said spell/effect. I think setback from damage should be removed from all induction based skills. Maybe increase some timers, but remove setback from damage. Interrupts from stuns, immediate skills etc should still apply.
2. Virtue/Trait system. The virtues should all apply to inherent character stats. Shouldn't be any need to swap them out. The trait system is a nice start, but should make it more appealing to customization: allow us to slot class skills in for legendary traits should we not desire legendary traits.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted combat. Add a new skills class of "Mounted" like Fast, immediate etc that allows us to use skill with 10/15 sec or less timers. Anything over 10/15 secs could be a bit over the top. (No horse back Epic Conclusions is what I'm hinting at lol)
Question 3
Name two activities in game that you never seem to have enough time to enjoy or would like to spend more time participating in. (Note: Things currently in game, not new activities or events.)
1. End game raids. Simply remove the excessive trash pulls. Quality over quantity makes the game great. Otherwise it just burnout material.
2. Skirmishes. Sometimes the counter attacks just eat up time. Remove the bulk, let us run run run w/o grind grind grind.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Infused Shard solo instances in Dolven View: It would be great if they became skirmishes, but with two very vital factors remaining. Please do not make them any longer than they currently are, it is nice that they can be done quickly. Simply add a random boss at the end, let us bring in our soldier, and give us a bit of skirmish marks for completion in addition to our current rewards.
2. Mark rewards bartering for Chests of Relics, typically you only get a t1 relic from the Chest, thats just silly, the book quests should get a better reward than a t1 relic.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Mounted Combat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
My vision for mounted combat is that you get a buff to offense and defense while moving, if you stand still you lose the buff, and each class only has a very limited number of skills that they can use while mounted, 1 or 2 attacks, and 1 or 2 class skills.
So while mounted you are very hard to hit, very durable and very fast, but you have to keep moving, if you stop you are easily dismounted.

1.1 Housing. please make it more of an open mechanic, without false constraints on number and placement of objects.
1.2 Gear. please create more gear at end-game levels to reflect and encourage different looks and playstyles. As mentioned many times in other threads, there are very few viable options for each class, therefore players all pretty much look the same and have the same gear. Everyone knows what the uber hunter gear is, uber LM gear, etc. If we had multiple viable options (possibly even just one set for each stance per class, giving stat buffs, but also maybe buffing that stance a little) i would be a major improvement.
2.1 Scalable instances (not skirmishes). To scale Rift, etc, up to current level cap.
3.1 PvMP
3.2 6, 12, 24 man groups...older stuff (hard to get groups together for current rewards)

Housing. I'll highlight my take-away points so they don't get lost in the brainstorming.
I want free-decoration, but at least we need more hooks. New house floorplans would be nice, but are less important.
I also feel that every object should do something when used, as candles light and mushrooms make you vomit. Funny stuff is nice; useful stuff is better. Like how in Asheron's Call, it was possible to get hookable portals that teleported the player to various areas of the world (judging by the Inn League kegs, you can already do this). Or add-on to the craft system. Small yard Chicken Coops that produce Eggs, medium yard Sheep Pens to produce mutton, and large yard Cattle Pens to produce beef.
There's a lot of stuff that can be done here. Wells you can draw Water from. Barbeque Pits that serve as permanent Campfires. Vegetable Gardens that actually allow you to grow vegetables. Horse Stables that allow you to breed horses for coat color/pattern, speed, and "hit points." Garden Gnomes that buff your Farming crit rate.
A deeper and more difficult problem is that there is little reason to visit our neighborhoods. I've had a house for two years, and visit at least once every couple of days. In all that time, I've run into other people people in my neighborhood only twice.
Neighborhoods are dead, dead, dead.
There need to be more critical services to get people to go - and linger -there. This could be something new, or it could access to old features. BreeBay. Craft stations. Town criers that give actual news on the state of the world. Stables with fast travel to every major town or raid entrance in the game (more expensive, naturally). Heck, move some of the Festival events in there.
There also needs to be some sort of "eminent domain," where people who've canceled their accounts for some time have their houses freed up for purchase by others. Half the houses in my neighborhood are locked for non-payment. Boarded up houses make the dead neighborhoods problem even worse than it already is.
I don't have another system that wasn't proscribed.
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
CoX-like sidekicking/exemplaring. For those unfamiliar with it, this allows a PC to temporarily raise or lower their level to match that of another player they're grouped with. This might not be a good fit with lotRO, but I'm very fond of the accessibility it allows. Newbs can play with their level 65 friends.

Fishing, because I never have enough pack space free to do it for long.

1.reward system -instance rewards need to become special again, like back in SoA, where we would get that cool rare weapon drop, etc.
2.storage systems need expansion

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. Additional lore-based Racial abilities/traits to give some more differentiation. For example, dwarves should be able to mine more out of nodes, or have an extra sense when they are in caves, dark places, or underground. Elves might get a speed walking bonus in forested areas, or even get something like animal whispering where they temporarily tame a wild animal to help them out in a fight. Hobbits might always be able to cook a special hobbit food, or get extra crit buffs for hobbit cooks. Not sure about men. Maybe nothing since men are bland. These abilities should also have levels so a high level hobbit can cook the certain hobbit recipes much better than one just starting out.
2. Hobbies. I like the smoking ideas (Gandalf could blow some serious smoke!) or gem collecting. There should be some nice rewards for completing full sets of things. (Yeah, I know, sounds alot like webkinz)
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Skill points. Looking forward, our skill bars are already full, so I'm thinking what can we do for levels 65 - 100 (just guessing what the ultimate lvl cap might be lol)? Have skill points that can improve existing skills either with additional damage, hit chance, crit chance, or decrease the cooldown that we can apply to whatever skills we want. Once spent, you can never get it back again, though. High amounts of skills spent on related skills would result in additional bonuses so a player could choose to dump all points into a specific area for focused customization or spread out and generally improve, but not specialized.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1. The LFF/LFP system needs help. The biggest problems, as I see them, are that players can not tag themselves as LFF for more than one quest at a time, once you do form a fellowship there is a separate interface for the fellowship teader to turn on LFP (Looking For Players), LFP is not automatically populated with the fellowship members' existing LFF advertisements, and LFF is turned off for all members and they have to consciously turn LFF back on once the fellowship dissolves.
What I'd like to see:
A) Let us check a box in our quest list for each quest we want to LFF, up to 5 or 6 quests. If that is too cumbersome then just make it so that anything in our quest tracker is advertised as LFF when we have LFF selected.
B) When a fellowship is formed, merge all members' LFF selections into the group's LFP advertisement.
C) Reduce the LFP interface to show only the LFF selections for each member, a display of which members have those quests, a check box by each selection to enable or disable LFP for that quest (defaulting to Enabled), a field for a custom LFF/LFP message, and a checkbox to enable/disable LFP (defaulting to enabled if the fellowship leader is marked LFF). This, of course, would be a tool for the fellowship leader.
D) Have the LFF search interface also return results for groups LFP. It may no longer be nessasary to use separate terminoloy for players LFF and groups LFP
E) Have a player's LFF state be preserved through joining and leaving a fellowship. Only clear the selections when logging off or a player chooses to no longer be LFF
2. Crafting professions need an adjustment in item values. In a working economy, finished goods are worth more than the raw materials that went into them. In LOTRO crafting, the reverse is true. Raw materials are worth more than finished goods. That is just considering vales for selling to vendors, not other players. I can harvest raw materials, refine them, make a worthwhile item, sell it back to a vendor, and have less money at the end of the day than if I had just vendored the raw materials. This is because crafting was conceived as a money sink. I feel that this was a mistake. Especially now that the game is well established and the server populations have matured, the money sink aspect only harms new players who are just starting out crafting.
When a player starts a character down a new crafting career, established players have the option of buying the raw materials at the AH and powering their way through crafting. This is a money loosing proposition, as it should be. But new players don't have this option. They generally have to harvest all their own materials, and yet they still loose money when crafting items. I feel that if a person is investing their time to do everything on their own, they should not also have to bleed cash every step of the way. Players should have to invest money or time, not both. Farming was modified to work in this way, and yet that did not create rampant inflation.
Another side effect of the crafting money sink is that players leveling up new crafting professions dump massive quantities of goods on the AH at below the cost of production. Players do it because the prospect of recouping a little money on the AH is better than selling the stuff back to vendors at an even bigger loss. Established players can afford to loose the money. New players can not, making it even harder for new players to break into the crafting market.
The solution is to adjust item values for all crafting professions so that a player who collects all the raw materials themselves and buys only the required necessary extra items from vendors; they should be able to sell the finished goods back to a vendor at cost. This would have several positive effects. New players would be able to sustain their own crafting and level up without being perpetually broke. Established players power leveling new crafting professions will be more likely to just sell the stuff back to a vendor rather than bothering with the modest to meager profits available from the AH because it wouldn't be worth the risk and expense of posting goods that may not sell. It would raise the price for finished goods on the AH to the level where a starting player can sell their goods for a modest profit. In most cases this will be a rise of just a few silver, but that will be enough and not raise prices to the point where they are out of reach for other new players looking for goods to buy on the AH.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
Level scale-back for players doing under leveled instances. Possibly the same for fellowships. I'd love to do many of the older, mid-level instances and fellowship quests, but it's hard to get players at level for the instances. I can get high level kinship members to help me but that is not as much fun. I'd rather have the high-level fellowship members scaled back and let us experience the content as it was intended.

Question 1
Excluding, PvMP, Legendary Items and Radiance gear, what systems do you feel could be expanded or revised? Please list two and give a brief description of how you would revise/expand them.
1.HOUSING-
(a)Kin neighborhoods. Allow a kinship to purchase a neighborhood that has several small houses with one larger "activity" house.
(b)New neighborhoods for higher lvl toons in higher lvl areas.
(c)Allow the chests in personal houses to tie in to our personal shared storage so that all our toons can access the storage there and not have to then go and use the shared storage broker. Too much running back and forth.
2. Deeds/Traits-
Instead of killing x amount of creatures for x deed/trait, allow players to complete a deed, gain a point, and spend it on the virtue of their choosing.
Question 2
If you could add an entirely new gameplay mechanic to LOTRO what would it be?
World-join pvp. Nothing fancy, but something that you can be in bree and join.
